WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

Some people still do revere Hitler. While a very evil man, he wasn't nearly as evil as Jesus.
What makes you think he isnt revered?
Faking a Nerve never said that people don't revere Adolf. They said that the caller's argument would logically lead to the conclusion that one ought to revere Hitler.
This would imply that Faking's position is that the Fuhrer shouldn't be revered while acknowledging that some groups do so anyway.

But I suspect you don't really want to learn, do you?
I will never understand people that can't understand or accept the answer, "I don't know."
If someone asks me about the price of something or something else about a product, I'll answer their questions if I know the answer. If I don't, I'll admit it and ask the manager.
Wrong. WE DO KNOW (Romans 1:20). IT'S MUCH WORSE THAN "I DON'T KNOW" for the atheist. It goes all the way to your atheist ideas are IMPOSSIBLE. Sorry, but our God-given common sense tells us that life, intelligence, love, consciousness, morality, finite nature (time/space/matter/energy) and the DNA blueprints of 10 million species of life and their opposite sex, can't come from star dust or a mud puddle that has NONE of these things to give us NOR the means to give them. The only possible cause/source/origin of all these things is our living, intelligent, loving, conscious and moral God that has divine brilliance, power and the means to provide all these things. THUS, the problem for atheism is NOT what we “don't know” but what we DO KNOW. And what we do know is highly incompatible with atheistic naturalism and inexplicable without God's unique and exclusive attributes. But hey, you've been indoctrinated to swallow any atheist platitude to avoid thinking and educating yourself. I simply can and will debunk any atheist idea you have - JUST as I debunked you here. Before we talk about God, I wanted to prove to you that all your atheist ideas are not just WRONG; they are all IMPOSSIBLE. Now you "KNOW" you're atheist cult is less-than-worthless GARBAGE. See how easy it is to debunk your atheist cult?
In my experience growing up, you'd be made fun of and forced to choose arbitrarily if you answered "I don't know" to something. I was never taught about fallacies or burden of proof either so saying "You don't know? Exactly that proves that I'm right" is considered a perfectly reasonable answer.
Like when someone asks you "How many female scientists are there? You can't name any? Exactly there aren't any."
Millions of people consider this thinking to be logical.
Sometimes, people accept something when they were children, because their parents told them. Then keep living their lives with this lie into their adulthood. Meet a partner, get married, have a family, a good job and believe that every positive happening to them is the result of this belief.
They never question anything. They never wonder if their belief is actually founded on reality.
One finds atheism by questioning things and chasing answers until a point of satisfaction. Many people aren't capable of thinking that far.
My parents became parents themselves at age 21. They could barely think logically. They took us to church as soon as we could walk. They had 5 kids by 30, barely made ends meet, always working many jobs. We were raised by the church. By 15, all the kids knew was the bible. Nothing else.
I left religion at 18, because the answers made no sense. All my brothers and sisters are still in it 40+ years later. Because they never took the time to think about the validity of religious claims. Of course my nieces and nephews are all deeply religious as well because of their parents indoctrination. Mine are secular.

Because "god". 😁
Because it’s bullshit
There were no newspapers or telegraphs in those days but the Good News of Jesus Christ spread throughout the Roman World like wildfire . By 65 AD Nero considered Christians a threat to Rome
Seems like a non sequitur. Does something have to be written down before decades occur in order for it to be considered as affecting many people?
1. Do you know earlier writings weren't recorded?
2. Do you know the literacy of the ppl who would bother to write it down?
3. Do you know the culture of the people affected when it comes to oral vs written practices?
You ask a fair question, but it's not like u can reach a solid conclusion based on the lack of an answer. I guess with enough faith you can lol.
@@arcguardian Problem is that we have the attribute of omniscience applied to that god, so before we even begin examining how unreliable word of mouth is, they would know that a few thousand years later we'd have video & means of global communication.

Scientists are all people of faith as Einstein saw it. They believe that the universe is accessible to the human mind. And physics cannot explain that for the simple reason that you can’t do physics without believing that the universe is intelligible.
The so-called new atheist are so passionate about ridding the world of faith that they appear to be blind to the fact that they themselves are driven by faith.
They believe that their minds can grass truth. They believe in science they believe that God is not great. Then in a classic oxymoron we were told our principles are not a faith or our beliefs are not a belief.
The new AC has offered no ground for the faith they themselves can I do without.
After all if human life has been cobble together by mindless and guided processes why should we trust our cognitive faculties in the validity of any belief that they produce atheism and science included.

Okay Neil, THAT was funny.... lol
God wants to have a relationship in which I worship him, praise him and ask for things he is already aware of.
At the same time he wants to remain invisible and unknowable.
It appears that God can't make up his mind what he wants.
There is a reason why they never give the one strongest evidence. They have only ever believed there where lots because apologists said so.
I LOVE when these people call in with a 'belief' but once you pin them down and ask specific questions, their 'logic' falls apart.
Tyler: “We’re trying to all make sense of why there’s matter in the universe.”
Wrong. Theists believe they’ve already made sense of everything. They’re wrong.😈
Tyler: "No one can ever know something one hundred per cent..."
Jan: Are you absolutely sure of that?
I would sure like to hear one of his evidences.

If the impact it has on people's lives makes a religion true, then Odin teaches us that you can not accomplish something without sacrifices, that in order to acquire knowledge, you most give up on something.
All sorts of problems with Tyler’s logic here. He isn’t realizing that it’s literally just as likely Christianity is the second most followed religion in the world is because the king of the Roman Empire decided he liked it for his own personal reasons, hundreds of years after “Jesus” lived and that the New Testament is as possibly fictitious as true?
No?
I like the way when you ask these people a logical question, they go silent, ha ha
The most likely explanation for Tyler’s opinion is that he just learned the word “impact” and fell in love with it 😂
“You don’t know everything, so anything I say could be real even though I admit I can’t demonstrate it, and it takes faith to question what I say….”
Do guys like this ever allow that for anyone else’s religion, or faith? Does he think k that since we “don’t know everything” it takes faith to accept that 1+1=2.
Can you prove 1+1=2?
@@mindlander if we agree on the definitions of 1, +, 2, and = then easily. If not, I can refer you to Bertrand Russel's Principia Mathematica where he proves exactly that using Set Theory instead of numbers.

No matter what question is raised, he keeps going back to the same argument as though it hasn't already been thoroughly countered.
Not only is this abjectly frustrating, but I get the feeling that if he wasn't pressed on his vague assertions, he wouldn't elaborate any further than that. If the justification for his beliefs rests on that, then I don't think it's unfair to suggest that he hasn't really thought about his beliefs as adequately as he presumes.
It always amazes me how people just blindly believe old myth, legend and fairytales.
Indoctrination, delusion, ignorance, wishful thinking, group thinking, fear, gullibility and cognitive dissonance are powerful things I guess.
"old myth, legend and fairytales?" Says the lost and clueless atheist fool that thinks star dust, moist rocks and mud puddles have the INTELLIGENCE, POWER, PURPOSE AND MEANS to create/design the human being and ALL the co-existent bodily systems (circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, pulmonic, digestive, skeletal, muscular, nervous, body (skin), etc., etc.) intertwined in co-dependent order in the human body :) Atheism is pure idiocy.
The religious cult of atheism is INFAMOUS the world over for having ZERO ANSWERS. That's because atheism RUNS from "reality." I would add that as an atheist, you're bankrupt of RATIONAL/POSSIBLE causes for life, intelligence, consciousness, morality and ALL the co-existent bodily systems (circulatory, respiratory, reproductive, pulmonic, digestive, skeletal, muscular, nervous, body (skin), etc., etc.) intertwined in co-dependent order in the human body.
Atheism has no RATIONAL/POSSIBLE, step by step atheist explanation for reality. That’s because there isn’t one. THINK ABOUT what you’re getting into w/ the cult of atheism. GET OUT NOW. I’ll help you find truth. Atheism has none.
Then they will turn around and say that you’re a moral monster because you’re not convinced.

Reality just called. Tyler hasn't shown up yet.
This caller doesn't know what the word evidence means.
Those types of callers like to pretend that they do. 😂
A lot of theists don’t
So basically he is saying that we should that because we don't have evidence for God,vampires, witches, etc.we should believe in them anyway?😕😂
That's what faith is all about otherwise it would be a plain knowledge:) There's absolutely no evidence for anything like that yet bilions of people around the World still claim they know "the truth". It's a specific mindset that hardly changes throught the lifetime...

Ken & Matt together are pure spring water!
Matt is so unreasonable. He wants reality-based evidence for a god. How is a theist supposed to meet those unrealistically high standards?
For the record, I was being sarcastic. A lot of people seem not to have picked that up. Just shows how nutty theists are, that we can't tell the difference. That's Poe's Law.
😂👍
...sounds like your problem boring troll...
Because most theists claim their god acts upon and/or interacts with reality. That is, this god effects reality in a knowable way. What’s unreasonable about asking for evidence of these interactions?

Scientology, while relatively new, has made a HUGE impact on people's lives.
I wonder how this guy feels about Xenu.
There are a number of non-western religions that have had massive historical and current day impact on people. Theists, in general, are geographically/culturally biased. Pretty much all of Tyler's presuppositions are based on his culture and geography but he will NEVER acknowledge that.
Scientology hasn’t even existed for very long. I think it came about in 1950. Mormonism came about in 1830. Both religions collected millions of followers.
In the case of christianity, it sounds like their numbers were very low from 1 CE to 300 CE.
It is in 301 CE that Armenia’s king accepted this has the state religion for some reason. A little later, the Byzantine empire with Constantine and his mother pushed this religion to be the empire’s religion. The goal was to bring back the Roman empire or something similar to it.
Matt. Clutch as always. In an umbiased, generic way, he always asks and responds with great rhetoric.
Why not other religions then? Why not others who believe in different Gods then, etc? Believers can only do that, believe for the sake of believing. And sprinkle faith in there. Because apparently the loving, true God is playing games and our lives depend on it. Just have faith.
I think religious people have been religious for so long that it is impossible for them to let it go when faced with someone like Matt. Giving up their religious beliefs means giving up their looking forward to Heaven, paradise, rewards, and the comfort of death.
"Tyler-MD | You Don't Know Everything So Faith Is Good"
So Tyler thinks faith that Zeus exists is good.
It's funny how they try and use the evidence based paradigm we now live in to explain their faith. It's such a powerful tool that they constantly try and co-opt it for their beliefs. They 'know' that simply having belief in something isn't a very powerful argument.
Faith and believing something because its "feels" true really impacts the ability of the person to have a discussion. Because they can say something is true just because it is. No proof. The proof is their belief.
Like a stalker believing someone loves them and they should be together.
Believing in a God is like the adult version of having an imaginary friend.
That’s brilliant! Did you come up with that yourself?
Exactly, I also see it like how kids have superheroes and stuff, adults have God, and it's also like a toy, they buy religious stuff and put their in their homes and play with it like praying or whatever, how kids play 🏠
Lots of kids have behaved themselves because they think santa claus won't give them a present at christmas if they're bad which has had an impact on many children's behavior over a long period of time but that doesn't make santa claus real
At least St Nicholas was a real person and he anonymously on three occasions gift of a bag of gold to an indigent father of three girls as dowry so they can marry.
Santa Claus has nothing to do with Christmas. It was originally celebrated on the 6th of Decmber until it was moved to Christmas day. There is no given time when it was moved.
Wait a minute, are you telling me Santa isn't real!!?😦😁
@@naasduplessis855 no he's very real just look at the impact he's had on people's lives
When Christians talk about the impact of the resurrection they don't seem to realise that even if it did happen it is extremely difficult to separate that from the impact of simply believing it
