I found this too late 🤣

Different generation. Those of us who grew up playing blades do not fear them, at all. They are a thing of beauty and a pure joy to hit. Even on days when the ball striking is not there, they do not punish you as severely as many assume.
exactly, I remember when everything on the shelf of canadian tire or sears / eatons was a blade lol
My set of all black T100s arrives in 2 days. Im pumped
Love Titleist irons, they have done a great job with the new line. They have also upped their game with the TS range. Fantastic products all round!🏌️👏🏼👍🏼
I bought a set of T300 but not bc I needed more launch and spin with the irons. I had and sold a set of 716 AP1’s and that was a mistake bc I didn’t (still don’t) have a lot of time to practice and yet my scores were great compared to what they should have been. They are very consistent, forgiving beyond belief, feel great for a “game improvement” club, not offensively big - in fact quite playable, and the quality is excellent. I play off a 12 but I think more people should give the T300 a look/see. And for $1000 for a set of 8 it’s not going to upset the bank manager
Went from a set of T200 to the 620 CBs to get more shape. Oddly enough, I am hitting them the same distance and feel like I get less draw with the CBs. But I definitely noticed the turf interaction was much better for me with the CBs. Something about the forged head just feels like butter.
I hit the T100's a couple weeks ago, they're officially in the mail. They feel and look incredible. Get out there and try these out; I promise you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Great video!
Divot pattern reinforces why I will only get fit for irons/wedges on grass. However all the grass-range fitting centers are typically 1-brand operations.
My vote is for the MBs. Amazingly looking clubs and a great feel when you hit them. I play of hcp 5 and I play 6 - PW of 718 MBs and I just love them! 5i is AP2, 4 and 3i are T-MB.
Triple combo! Love that!
Just borrowed the 620 MB 4 iron and tested it. Project X 6.0 shafts. Perfect buttery feel, great flight. Such a tiny head, I was intimidated at first but it worked just fine ! I might cheat on Mizuno with these beauties 😅🤫
Excellent video, especially for those who find their range sessions get boring. Learning how to flight the ball in different conditions and it’s relationship with carry distances is a game changer for everyone. Great work guys 👍
Blades for Matty!!! Get em in the bag.
Blades are the winner! Blades for everyone!!!
Had the same results. 620mb were awesome.
T200 and T300 are strong lofted and produce great spin numbers, are these the ultimate modern irons? They may be.
Matt needs MBs, he's killing them!!!!
Those are amazing clubs.
It's very interesting that I always played cavity irons, and I have recently tried some mp20 mb irons. Somehow I struck them better and further than any of the cavity irons I previously had. There is definitely some different feel when swinging a blade iron.
this was my experience with blades too! I just hit them better, didn't expect to. I hypothesize that the lower moi allows me to move the head more easily, so there is no delay between my force and manipulation of the head. also the turf interaction and cg location, which are more conventional reasons. I curved my Mizuno mp-h4 irons more, my muscle backs (Callaway apex mb '14) fly straighter, and so I would only say they are workable in that they curve the way I intend more often.
I had a really similar experience to Matt with MBs except perhaps more surprising because I'm a higher hcp (honest 17), but my scoring irons have always been good relative to the rest of my game. I went in to trade up from my cobra F7s, looking at something along the lines of an Apex forged, T200, Forged TEC etc. Nothing really jumped out at me but as kind of a "what the heck" moment I tried the Cobra MB/CB irons.
I thought about them for two months after, reading every bit of marketing material telling me they weren't the right club for my skill level etc. But at the end of the day they just performed great for me, I got fit into them, dispersion was tighter than the forged TEC by about 30% for me with the KBS Tour 120. They're in the bag now P-7 MB, 6-4 CB. I've only played a couple of rounds, plus it's end of season for us here and the courses are pretty squishy from rain, but I'm already playing to my hcp with them and really enjoying the "training wheels off" feeling. I know exactly where the ball is before I even look up from the shot, especially on a mishit; the feedback is just awesome. Just shows, everyone golfs differently and how important it is to get fit into your clubs, so you know quantitatively what works best.
yeah I support this, similar experience for me
It’s snowy here in Nebraska and I’m still golfing. I bought the T-200s and they’ll be in my hands in about a week 🖤🖤🖤
Sole configuration is king
I just ordered a custom set of 620’s. I did 4-7i in the CB’s & 8-PW in the MB’s w/ KBS C-taper x-flex. Can’t wait to get them!
Guys, I went to a Titleist demo tonight because of all the hype I’ve seen online. I hit most of the new models and I wasn’t impressed with the sound off the face. It wasn’t only me but my friends had the same opinion. Have you guys noticed this?
The rep said it sounds like that because I was hitting it on the toe...I’m a scratch golfer. I hit it bad once in a while but not 12/15 balls.
BTW, you guys have the best golf channel on RUclips. Keep up the good work!!!
jason smith did or have you hit any other irons that did impress
Gary R I have not. Titleist is the first 2019/20 clubs I’ve hit, so far.
Great work as always gents! At first i didn't like the new "look" but there really growing on me 👍
Yes can you do the original ap2s vs these and last years
Matt - go with the 7 or 8-PW with the blade. You won’t be disappointed- there is nothing like controlling your ball flight with those babies. Blades get a bad rap.
Exactly. I play 620mb 5-9 w a t100 4 iron. And to be honest, I prefer the 620 4i. Once you learn to hit a blade you will won’t ever want to go back. What’s special/different about the 620 vs all other blades, I’d the lack of offset. I don’t think I will ever play another iron.
Hit the 620 MB with the PX rifle 6.0. Great club!
They are amazing !!!
Got fitted the past weekend. I hit Mavrik, SIM Max and T300. Wasn't even close. T300 like buttah.
Lefty CB/MB's woot!
Since Matt hit them so well.. can you do a quick comparison on the 620MB vs the 718MB. Numbers and feel. U500 Vs TMB 2i comparison as well!
18:10 Matt's brain is squirming like a toad...."I think I like these MB's, weird...I wonder if I should perhaps ....maybe...get some in my scoring irons...hmmm...that was unexpected."
had my first hole in one with a 712 mb 5iron. nothing feels better with a pure strike nothing feels worse with anything less
Excellent content as always!!
At 3:20, notice the giant bug tagging along for a ride on Matt’s back.
Every one of these multiple club tests is the same. Fitters and testers everywhere treat the pure blade as some kind of impossible club to hit and then every tester, high or low handicap, has a more consistent result with blades or at least an equal result almost every time. I played for 20 years with mid-80s Wilson blades and had no idea they were impossible to hit for a weekend golfer until RUclips told me so. Personally I think it's mostly a load of shite. The real issues with these clubs for weekend golfers are in the longer irons because we tend not to hit the ball high or have enough swing speed to get them high. IMO an ideal set for most weekend golfers is a mixed set with more blade like or cavity irons from 7-8 and up, and something below that that can help get the ball airborne like hybrids or more GI irons.
Funny how he didn't respond to the truth! I bought a set of Taurus plus oversize irons 6-sw. They are blades and I didn't know it. They have a slightly bigger face then most name brand blades. I hit them AMAZING and I have a mid handicap, I think alot of these companies don't want us to buy their blades? It's so weird that again I have irons that are pure blade but are incredibly nice and sexy to hit
totally agree, I'm seeing the same thing in RUclips tests. I also have a set of 80s Wilson staff blades! I picked up some modern blades a month ago and I've been night and day improved
Agreed, I was so nervous, never hit a blade before so I ordered a 5 iron 620 mb just to see if I could hit it and if I liked it. Took it to the range and was shocked. Ordered 6-pw that same day.
@@josephdurkin8180 Everything in this world is directly or indirectly driven by one single thing, money/sales. My theory is this: blades have alot less room for creativity and engineering, it's mostly just a piece of metal thats going to be roughly the same with each iteration. CB's can be alot more engineered, each iteration having more drastic change in looks and characteristics.
Hence, the CB:s are are lot marketable, with words like "forgiveness" and hitting it longer and such can be claimed about the next iteration, which isn't really the case with blades. The incentive for an average golfer is higher to buy new clubs with improved performance, or claimed improved performance, so essentially they want customers to go for CBs because it can increase sales and more demand for every new iteration for the type of club.
It's crazy to see how much of an inverse correlation there is between spin and distance, even inside of the same club. Irrelevant of what club you have, strike will always be king.
Great review. Shot tracer would have been good to see to compare different flights.
Love the videos, can you redo these irons indoors
Is Matt the tallest golfer ever with flat spec’d irons? I know I know, it’s all about dynamic. On the other hand I hope Titleist cleans the back of the T200 up like the 718 AP3 which looked more neat and symmetrical. Maybe hide that max impact and the abstract angles.
Would love to see an indoor test on the 620 CB. Perhaps vs JPX Tour
That neck injury still in Matt’s mind. He shuts it down fast.
Or it’s those super slim fit pants 😆
Good afternoon,
I have a T 300 irons 5-W2
I want to combo them with other irons from the T series.
What do you suggest?
Looks like better divot paths from the players irons?
Would be interesting to see what happened with the spin numbers of the T irons for someone not as quick as Matt because those numbers given the loft and height are amazing.
How would you compare forgiveness of cb 620 to T100? And the CB’s look closer to srixon 785. Are they as forgiving?
Great vid, can u post all the numbers for each iron? Also, for Matt as a scratch who tends to miss towards to toe, which iron(s) would you fit him into with this Titleist range based on the fitting?
Have you demo heads for the T100S yet? It would be nice to see the T100S v. P790 and other players distance irons. For those of us like Matt who have played a few generations of AP2s wondering if the T100s are custom for their lofts and not just bended +2 degrees changing turf interaction?
How do outdoor and indoor iron testing figures compare? Could it make a difference to a club fitting. Loving your work.
Can you do some outdoor testing for the Wilson irons? Very underrated club. Sporting the D7 but will be making the move to the C300 forged gun metal. I'd like to see the numbers on the FG Tour V6 as well.
I have 5-PW of the FG Tour V6 and love them. Great looking and feeling iron and they sport old school lofts. I only paid $100 per club which by today's prices is really good. They have a pretty thin top line but are more forgiving than the blades I used to play (Cobra Pro MBs and some old Titleist Tour Model MBs).
@@Spudroe Thank you for the reply! Would you happen to know if Wilson is coming out with a new FG model? V6 has been around for awhile now. I personally havent heard or seen anything. Also where did you buy yours for $100 per iron???
Nice guys. Interesting point about sound indoor vs outdoor. How would you say that'd influence feel?
Can you explain why T100 7 Iron is 34 degree loft and T300 700 Iron is 29 degree loft?
More than a club apart, even on the same brand?
Thanks.
Whoa! T400 7 Iron has 26 degree loft!
I want to like the t200, but the 43 degree pitching wedge is a turnoff. I dont have room in my bag for two approach wedges...
I need a forgiving iron with a 46-48 degree pitching wedge
On the other hand you need one long iron less. So technically you do have the room.
The T200 and T300 are certainly great irons for their audiences, but they do not look nice. Especially the T300 with that switch at the back... was there no other design solution available? I would not be surprised if it sells less than it could just because of it. Meanwhile the MB is pure beauty. All around Titleist is class, but that is not new.
How do the T100's feel? I always felt the AP2's were a bit clicky compared to other forged irons.
Feel is really nice
I bet you'd play better golf overall with the mb's in the bag and you could combo with the 3, 4, 5 in T100's or CB's.
Would you consider the cb a direct rival to the jpx tour? Thanks
What balls were bring hit? ProV1s or ProV1Xs?
Ian Jackson ProV1 X
How would the t200s compare to the original P790s? Thanks fellas and keep up the awesome content!
Did you guys notice half of RUclips stole your ping glide water test? That’s kinda bogus and oddly specific to steal...other things are fair game but man that wasn’t cool on their part.
Damn these manufactures.... enough with the low cg high ball flights! Wheres my forgiving high cg penetrating ball flight irons. Some of us do battle with too much dynamic loft and hit the ball too high.
High CG isn't forgiving...
@@alc7084 Thats not true... forgiveness comes with perimeter weighting, check out Smithworks wedges. Very high cg but still forgiving for a wedge because of the perimeter weighting.
@@tableshaper4076 I never mentioned forgiveness in weighting. Merely stating that a high CG club isn't forgiving intrinsically.
So I've noticed this on video before it looks like everything starts out to the left for Matt, which would either be a push or a draw type shape, but one shot he said he pulled it a bit, and it still seemed like the ball started out to the left. Is this just an optical illusion or do I just not understand what is going on?
Hey guys. Off topic. Will you even sell TXG bags ? Love to support Canadian brands and TXG is tops on my list
You can get them in person at the Toronto store. I have white stand bag. Also in black. Made by Ogio Not available online.
Chris Freitag thanks for the info :)
I am curious to learn why a golfer would prefer an iron that flies lower and shorter than another? "Workability"?
Depends on the player's current ball flight, handicap, preferred shot shape, etc. More commonly a player would be looking for more height and distance
Hey Jason, the reason to choose an iron that spins more but flies shorter for better players is usually to produce exact gaps for the entire set and to be able to hold greens at specific distances. My LW carries 95. SW 109. GW 122. Therefore I want my PW "weak" at 47* so it only carries 133. That means I need my other irons lofted to match. So 9i 145. 8i 156. 7i 169. 6i 181. 5i 192. 4i 205. Hy 218. If I played jacked up lofted irons that delivered much higher ball speed then I might hit my PW 150 leaving a huge gap between my GW and PW, plus I would not be able to control it as well. Hope that makes sense.
T300 - all irons are becoming hybrids
I have never seen clubs spin this much
T 300 NO COMPETITION!!! mine are on the way with 3 new vokeys
Compare them agenst 714 ap2's :)
Three guesses what irons you have😂
distance irons just screw up the bottom end of the bag. they may launch high and long but you need a bunch of wedges to fill the gap
Which are the scoring clubs and more difficult because most of them are blades.
Wrong, T300 irons 20° 23° 26° 29° 33° 38° 43° 48° 53° 58° that leaves room for a putter and 3 woods.
@@galdessa1 Just a general notion on distance clubs. I just don't understand why Titleist would name a 53 degree wedge W2, 48 degree W and 43 degree PW. The could have just named 48 PW and be done with it.
We not gonna talk about that big ass bug on matty back at 3:28
Honestly sound doesn't matter to me, it could sound like horrible. If it preforms good, and I have control over the shot that's what I want. If it does what I want it to do with the worst sound in the world I would still buy them
He hit the mbs better than the cbs and t100 lol
I can't believe you carry a 7 iron 191 yards...... I can't even imagine the drive you hit. Like they should have someone else testing these clubs, because then everyone won't wonder why the 7 iron isn't going 200 yards
What do you have to gain!? Oh I dunno the first 3 balls you hit were the same exact distance. Hmmmmm. You should be playing blades, robbing yourself accuracy w these distance irons. Who needs their 7i do fly 190?
t300s r bloody ugly
