    The cops at the end were played by Lee Majors & Heather Thomas, who played Colt & Jody on the original show. :)

    He did 2 of the main stunts and gives credit to his 4 stump doubles for the rest. He does the fall at the beginning and the one dragging him across the bridge.

    The guy who does the fall at the end is falling on his dad's airbag which they had to find. His dad holds the record for falls and in the credits you see him hug his dad.

    3 things to love about this movie:
    -the awkward romcom moments between Ryan and Emily.
    -Ryan being an absolute badass to the tune of KISS in ballad form.
    -Metalstorm being the best movie never.

    Perfectly just-about-fun movie that aims only in one direction - entertain viewers - with simple jokes, bit easy and classic plot and great actors having fun

    It's unfortunate that you didn't recognize Lee Majors at the end. He played Colt Seavers in the 80's TV show "The Fall Guy".
    There are also a few other nods to him, the show, and another role he played. The theme to the show, the "Unknown Stuntman" shows up in a tweaked form over the end credits. Lee Majors also starred in the "Six Million Dollar Man" TV show which has a particular audio cue right before his character leapt into action; that same cue can be heard in the movie at least once.

    I watched the tv series (1981-1986) by Glen A. Larson;
    creator of so many other classics like Battlestar Galactica,
    Knight Rider and Magnum P.I.
    I first heard about an adaption over a decade ago with
    Dwayne Johnson involved and I thought it was never going to happen.
    The first trailer was mind-blowing and i was all in.
    Pretty much a movie within a movie with slight realism.
    Good cast, Ryan Gosling (Colt) & Emily Blunt (Jody) have great chemistry.
    I can't believe they even had the same GMC pick up truck from the show, so happy.
    The story is as high-powered as it's hilarious and not just a tv series becoming a film.
    Stuntwork during the filmmaking sequences and action sequences
    of the core story are as phenomenal as imagined.
    A love letter indeed to the stunt industry itself and how much
    it's given to blockbuster films and passion project for dir. Leitch who
    came from that side of Hollywood.
    A Guinness World Record was set for the most cannon rolls
    performed in a car while making this movie (beach driving sequence).
    Seeing Lee Majors & Heather Thomas (the og Colt & Jody) in
    this made me spaz the f*** out.
    Ballad of The Unknown Stuntman (Fall Guy theme) by Blake Shelton
    was sung by Majors himself for the tv series.
    This movie despite it's box office was a blast to watch.
    Good movie and a good start to the summer of 2024.

    What I love the most is that while the stakes of the movie are that Colt is being framed for murder, Colt's personal stakes are all about Jodi, mending their relationship, and barring that, ensuring that her dreams come to fruition.
    Also "YOU NEED CARBS! YOUR BRAIN RUNS ON GLUCOSE!" is hands down one of my favorite lines of all time.

    He does the fall, but was terrified. Tom Ryder (Rider) for Tom Cruise (Cruiser). And Tom C doesn't do all of his own stunts. Watch the promotional videos, the roll set a record and the guy who actually did it helps Gosling out of the car in the movie.

  • @kc9music

    They actually closed down Sydney Harbour Bridge and Ryan did get dragged across the bridge. It was on the news here in Australia 🇦🇺. Ryan also did do the stunt at the beginning where he falls 12 stories. Ryan has a fear of heights hence why he had the sunglasses on in the stunt.
    The stunt driver who did the world record cannon roll can be seen pulling Colt out of the car at the end of the stunt.
    There’s so many Easter eggs in the movie like the film’s stunt designer (first time this credit has been given) can been seen talking to Colt when he gets called to do the stunt at the beginning again. Loved the movie!! It was a great reaction.

      @@brandyanderson3522 The Sydney Harbour Bridge was definitely shut down briefly for filming that scene. It made the news here in Australia, at the time. Also, both our federal and state govt's subsidised the making of The Fall Guy to incentivise filming here.

    Gail is the producer and she will be responsible for the cost of the movie. SHE IS SAVING HER OWN CAREER. The phone got shot, but Gail knew about it because Ryder sent it to her. They had to get rid of all copies of the video which is why they wanted Ryders.

    The song at the end credits was the original TV show theme song, sung by Lee Majors himself, who played Colt on the show. The cops at the mid credits scene were Lee Majors and the actress that played Jody originally. I feel like dude has zero clue about the history of this franchise

    • @Zakemaster
      @Zakemaster 4 месяца назад +2

      To be fair, quite a few people don’t know much about the history of a mildly popular show that stopped airing 38 years ago. It just straight up didn’t have the legacy of a lot of other classics from the time, including Larson’s other work. Even if people look back on it fondly, it didn’t really manage to lock into place in pop culture history in a significant way. Plus, the show is literally older than a good amount of the film’s target demographic. So it’s not exactly surprising.

    • @codyt821
      @codyt821 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Zakemaster that's fair, it's definitely a classic as far as 80s tv goes, and Lee Majors is a pop culture icon, but much more so for the six million dollar man. I don't fault them for not knowing, it's definitely not as well known of an 80s classic like other shows such as Knight Rider and Magnum PI, etc.

    • @kylieb-p2515
      @kylieb-p2515 4 месяца назад +1

      @@Zakemaster Good points, however, there was plenty of grey hair in the audience at both of my screenings here in Australia. That said, I've seen some (undeserved) criticism of the ages of the leads - ironically coming mostly from the Deadpool & Wolverine base, who apparently haven't noticed that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are both older than Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt (Jackman is 55!). As if 2 charismatic actors in their early 40s shouldn't lead an action romcom released in 2024!?

  • @kylieb-p2515

    As a woman, I am 100% certain that Jody's character was mindful of the double meanings in that split scene convo.

    • @kylieb-p2515
      @kylieb-p2515 4 месяца назад +1

      BTW, it's now 6 June and we still don't have a VOD release date here in Australia. Although The Fall Guy has surprisingly outperformed the primate movie here at every stage to date, Ryan Gosling's latest himbo movie is now starting to lose its legs after its 6th weekend. So, pay-per-view would now do zero harm to box office numbers here (it might even give a last little boost). Actually, both movies are now quickly losing their legs - and after its 7th weekend, Challengers has finally reached its theatre run limit here too.

    The most annoying part about the producer is the juice she is always drinking. It gives me the feeling she does not care and just saying things for the sake of it, like how she scares Jodie with news of Colt and then continues sipping.

  • @kylieb-p2515
    @kylieb-p2515 4 месяца назад

    Thanks for sharing your first watch. Folks at Universal are adamant that early release to pay per view doesn't greatly undermine the cinema run. They're even claiming that it can enhance the theatrical run through word of mouth, and recent box office numbers for The Fall Guy do seem to support that notion. Either way, I'm glad I got to enjoy this film twice on the big screen with large audiences, and I won't wait for it to come to streaming (I'm frustrated that I still can't buy it here in Australia as at 3 June). I'm also keen on a sequel - more so given that we never got a Nice Guys 2.
