    I’ll always take time to applaud a person that is trying.
    I’ve seen various forms of the chrome process online over the years. Mostly commercialized types.
    What makes this video important is the genuine human error left transparent for us. No underscoring the importance of this.
    I figured these processes took more trial and error than many of these videos display.
    Thank you for both trying and the truth brother!
    I now know what to expect .
    I love chrome. Always will.

      Thank you and yes there's more than just spraying water and the chemicals. I contacted Angel Gilding and they advised me to use a propane torch a certain way to get a better result, but honestly I had the same result. Still have yet to get back to it because life happens. Appreciate the kind words!

    That all chrome bezel would look good with some white gauges, nice job.

      Thanks and I agree. Eventually I am going to customize my dash with this chrome spray. Im going to try and perfect the process once I get my Mustang running again.

    Hi, nice job, one thing that I started doing years ago is paint things inverted, it works very well.
    Good luck Rich

    Distilled water in the metal spray gun is no longer Distilled as it picks up minerals from the metal

      @@CedrickWilliams i believe you have to wait anywhere from 12-24 hours for it to completely dry. I would have to look again as it's been a little while

    Be conscious of your thermal changes as you’re going from paint to water to air. Try to keep them all the same temperature.

    I've seen renovators of old toy cars put plastic in a bath of Hydrogen Peroxide and water and then leave it under UV light for the day to remove the old yellow sheen and fogginess from clear plastic window pieces - I'me sure the clear plastic pieces for an old Mustang could use a little treatment too

    I think the aldehydes (acids) from the combustion are causing the chemical reaction

    • @CruisinComPTon
      @CruisinComPTon  10 месяцев назад

      Which combustion and what would you recommend? I am in no way a chemist. I just followed directions

    • @seeveiw
      @seeveiw 10 месяцев назад

      When you were using the torch to heat the paint layer you mentioned it caused a chemical reaction I was sharing info with you about the acids produced during the combustion of the torch flame was probably what is causing it I’m not a scientist either but I have worked with combustion gas analysis for many years
      I learned a little about the affects on the paint coating a job I worked on.
      I think you did a fine job on your parts if you look at the new remakes the chrome affect isn’t that good I sure you will find your technique of perfection

    • @CruisinComPTon
      @CruisinComPTon  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@seeveiw Thank you. Using the torch was a suggestion by the manufacturer of the spray chrome when I came to them with the issue I was having. It would be funny if that was also causing it lol. Unfortunately I haven't had time to get back to this, but I'm not done trying.

    Did you ever figure out the process that works best? And what are you doing for clear?

    • @CruisinComPTon
      @CruisinComPTon  Год назад +2

      No I havent gotten back to it since I want to get the car running first so working on that whenever I have time. Im using speedokote 2k clear with the violet dye they provide in the kit, but when you order the chrome kit it comes with a 2k clear as well.
