      There are holes from the mouth where you can see at least where you are walking, it was designed more like a photoset cosplay rather than a con cosplay. You could also add a hole and mesh in the nose of the bomb to have better visibility tho

    amazing work! is the jaw also attached by magnets? and for the neck piece, could i ask how you made that attach to the head or is it a separate piece? again this cosplay is outstanding!!

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  3 года назад +2

      On the first version the jaw was attached to a balaclava ( the idea was to move the jaw as the cosplayer spoke, but the balaclava revealed to be way to thin and the jaw was just hanging loose, it looked like the Bomb Demon had a permanent dumb face on it, so I had to lock it in place with some hot glue).
      As for the neck, is just a piece of 3mm Eva foam around the balaclava's neck, is not very visible nor very interesting to show in camera, so that's the reason I didn't show it; ( on Denji's tutorial I'll show more about the neck thingy )

      Yes that's it! Visibility is very reduced and you can only see through the gaps in the teeth, so it's more a photoshoot cosplay rather than a Con Cosplay ( we did bring it to a con but you had to walk with the front piece opened up and wear it quickly for photos )

    were the pvc pipes heavy? I’m wearing mine to a con and the apron is the only part I’m stuck on. I bought one foam dowel but it’s crazy expensive and didn’t make enough sticks.

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  2 года назад +1

      I had the exact same problem and yes, they are kinda heavy and a bit tricky sometimes to walk around. I thought the same thing about the foam dowel and figured out the best and cost effective solution was to make the TNT tubes out of rolled paper, wrapped around the PVC tube as a mold to give it the exact shape and then remove the PVC tube; should have enough strength by itself reducing greatly the weight. Let me know if you manage to do it, and what solution did you adopt.

    Veramente figo, anche i pezzi appuntiti con l’eva foam sono stati ricoperti di colla vinilica prima della pittura?

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  2 года назад +1

      Si assolutamente perché essendo l'EVA Foam poroso, assorbe la vernice come una spugna e non rimane il colore. La colla vinilica praticamente riempie questi pori

    Currently doing the apron for a con i have this weekend, but i’m trying to figure out how you managed to attach the apron on the person without breaking the cloth/waist belt since the pvc tubes are pretty heavy.

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  Год назад +3

      In fact yes, they are kinda heavy and if I had to redo it today I would make it in EVA Foam or something similar. The apron was attached to the waist of the person simply with a "belt" or rather ribbon made from the same cloth as the apron base, and tied to the back. It does hold but the weight drags it down a bit and movement is kinda slow and uncomfortable

    • @ecto.astronomer6702
      @ecto.astronomer6702 Год назад +1

      @@matsudaindustries2530 do you think the PVC Tube design could hold out walking around in a 12hr con? Or should i just redo the tubes with foam instead?

      They do hold, I have mine and is still infact, never had issues with the tubes apart the fact they are slightly uncomfortable when walking.

    Where did you find the polystyrene foam? I’ve been looking but I can’t find exactly what I need

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  2 года назад +3

      In most home Depot/ hardware stores, it's a common insulation material used in home construction, very cheap as well, a whole 1mtx0.5mt was 5€ bu it depends on thickness.
      Keep in mind that this is different from the much more common polystyrene, which is made of lots of "bubbles" and it definitely won't work as well

    Hi Matsuda! I absolutely love this project and I'm hoping to make one myself. What was the overall time took to make the helmet? Would I be okay getting away with hand painting the helmet?

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  2 года назад +4

      Hey there, thank you a lot, it took me around 4 to 5 days approx, including the time to let the glue and paint dry. As for the painting it's really up to you, works fine with airbrush, spray cans and normal brushes, just keep in mind that depending on the way you will be going to paint it, in this case a normal brush, it will probably leave brush marks after drying, so try to use a slightly diluted paint and a very fine brush ( it will probably require more passes because of the diluted paint, but at least it won't leave brush marks)
      Hope this answers your questions, if you have more just ask I am here for you

      I noticed in another comment that you mentioned the visibility is quite low while wearing the helmet, could I create more visibility if I make the teeth smaller and sharper?
      I really appreciate your advice and time! Thank you again 🙏

    • @matsudaindustries2530
      @matsudaindustries2530  Год назад +1

      For 3d printing i suggest 3D scanning using your smartphone, there are plenty apps and tutorials showing how to do it. Otherwise you can do it traditionally using a tailor's meter and calculating the circumstances of your head ( will take much longer and won't be as precise tho)

      I did see other cosplayers solution for this problem and some are very smart in hiding the holes for the eyes ( I saw someone making the very tip section detachable with magnets, allowing for a quick don when needed for pictures, and a quick removal when you needed to move around, It basically had no holes at all while af the same time had a very large hole for visibility.
      Another solution would be tho make the tip dotted with tiny holes so you can see and kinda retain the shape while being comfortable seeing; I've seen this solution on AliExpress
