I really respect you guys for not putting knowledge behind a paywall. It'd be super easy for you to say "If you don't understand how any of this works, go buy my LEDs book." The fact that you make the book a wonderful and helpful accessory to the video says a lot about your love for the community.

It is incredible when you realize that to be a prop maker you need to know everything. EVERYTHING! work with foam, paint, carpentry, work with leather, sculpture, design, tailoring, electronics, programming and source code, 3d modeling programs, and etc, etc, etc. You have to have many skills and be good at all of them. Amazing!

You pretty much nailed it. The only thing I would think of doing, is..
Create Adafruit project boxes, by mounting the trinket system in project boxes. you can mount the charging plug, programming socket, switches, etc neatly into their own boxes. That way if you need say an 8 plug project box, you pick that one out, drop the program to it, then plug it in.
Of course this means you will have a number or pre mounted trinket boxes ready to go, but.. It makes it easy and quick.

Svetlana and Benni, thank you so much for your amazing videos and books! I have bought and read both of your cosplay lighting books, and I've watched all of your videos, but the thing I still don't understand is how to improvise on my own. So, for instance, if I don't buy the exact microcontroller board you're using for a project, how do I know what wires go where? Similarly, if I want to go to the Arduino library, how do I know what code to use and how to edit it? I was wondering if you might consider making a "basic navigation" video where you show us how to mix and match.

Hi Svetlana, I like this nice little animation module and I really like the creative use of the 3pin servo connectors to connect the lights!
Although you said you have used hundreds of leds, I am a bit worried about the current draw. The trinket can deliver 150mA through its regulator and 500mA at the BAT pins. If you are using the 500mA output you could power less than 10 neopixel leds at white full brightness without overheating the output. As you mentioned when using animations the amount of leds is much higher, because of the colors and the on-off-cycle. But maybe a word of warning about static white lights and using the BAT power output and not the 5V on top would help preventing accidents. Greetings from Berlin, Kai

I actually used already far more for the output than allowed for a short time, ha ha! The circuit just turned of and nothing happened. Guess the Adafruit products just have a really good protection build in. :)
