Wake me up when someone realistically thinks the Steelers can win a Superbowl again. He's had 17 years to build his own team and we've only gotten away from the championship standards in that time. Cowher never had an AB, Tuitt, Bell, or Bryant who cut their careers short because he didn't discipline them. Cowher had losing seasons and then they'd be back in the AFCCG a couple seasons later. I have to be honest: Coach Tomlin can coach. That being said, I’m disturbed about some of the things I’ve heard him say. He was telling people in an interview that he feels that coaches get into coaching because of their failures as a player. He even cited his failures as a player. That’s a problem because it seems like he’s stereotyping coaches. Tony Dungy was a coach and, as a player, he won a Super Bowl with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dungy doesn’t look like a failure to me. It’s just my opinion. I can give other examples, but it would just take up too much time. Tomlin also throws around these clichés like, “The standard is the standard,” “We’re in the kitchen,” “2 dogs and 1 bone,” and a bunch of other garbage. That’s as bad as someone coming out and saying to you, “Someone has a case of the Mondays.’” That quote was from the movie, “Office Space.” I’m tired of him overusing phrases and oversimplifying complex situations. That’s NOT what inspires people and he sounds like those corporate guys in the movie, “Office Space.” That phrase, “2 dogs 1 bone” can turn teammate against teammate. Teammates are supposed to make each other better. This way, even though there’s only one ball, you would be able to find more ways to get BOTH of them the ball more often. I also don’t want to hear somebody come out and say that when he made those comments, he meant something else, because if that was the case he would’ve said something else instead of that phrase, “2 dogs and one bone” which has a negative connotation. It looks like there’s something seriously wrong with him for saying the things he says. Sports are supposed to be entertaining and fun, and not a reminder of your 9 to 5 job.

    Look at all these Steeler fans who are praising the guy who has gone past the 1st round twice in the past 12 years. When did "making the playoffs" become the standard in Pittsburgh sports. And of course it was a legit question, it was all over the media. What kind of reporter would not have asked that question? Why would he go and play the race card on this, totally inappropriate response, nothing to do with race.

    • @justinturley7071
      @justinturley7071 2 года назад

      I didn't hear anything about race in this interview. He was asked a question on whether or not the rumors were true about him potentially coaching college ball. He flat out said he would never ever coach any college team. I don't see how a straight up answer has anything to do with race. Because let's face it, College is too hard anyways, because not only do you have to worry about the players you'll have for about 4 years, but you also have to worry about recruiting players every single year, that is a tough progress. I believe that is his biggest problem with coaching college, and he probably would be paid less money than he makes with the Steelers.
