I wouldn't call 8-8 in playoffs great, in fact, that division sucks like AFC east, the Ravens were tough, to me, 8-8 means average, adequate, etc How many truly "great" coaches are there? Andy Reid, 17-15 in playoffs, surely he's not "great", is he? Mike Shanahan was 8-6 in playoffs, ....then....there's the Hoodie, who even though he's 30-11 in the playoffs, without TB12, he's basically Marty Shottenheimer, lol, and if you really get football, Adam Vinitieri won 3 rings by himself, Malcom Butler won 1 ring by himself, so there's that too

@@vincentjones9215 So the regular season is exhibition. Cause it would be if he had the reverse of wins and losses cause that would be held against him. Tomlin has never had a losing season. He has been to 2 and won 1 Superbowl. Sean Payton who I am a big fan of as a Saints fan has pretty much has a comparable resume. But he has had 3 7-9 records in a row at 1 point. Belichick is unmatched, so nobody else is on his level. Also him and "TB12" greatly benefited from tapes of the other teams defensive signals and other things on tape. Peyton Manning felt they bugged the opposing locker room in Gillette so they game planned in the showers. How about the deflated footballs that "they didn't need" but they went to great lengths to do it tho. So lets not talk about that tho. All I gotta say Tomlin has been as good as anybody not named Belichick as a coach in the NFL since he's been there so he is great.

This is such a silly take so common in modern sports media. Any Steelers fan with a brain knows and appreciates the quality of Coach that Tomlin is. Also his and the franchise legacy of success is why local fans chirp after a few losses. If Alabama loses 2 games, there are fans that want Saban gone, this only happens when your successful. The current Steelers situation is a bit unique with Ben on his way out, this IS a organization in transition and the college jobs that Tomlin is being mentioned for is out of respect because of the quality of coach that he is. I am, though I am more of a Pittsburgh fan then steelers. I could understand why Tomlin or the Steelers might want to make a change. Most coaches in all sports tend to have a shelf life, where the same actions have diminishing returns over time. Also the steelers have had a lot of discipline issues with players like AB JUJU Ben Bell Harrison Blounte and lately claypool (could go on but those are the big names) that have hurt them. They also have had great teams that fall apart late in the year for the past 10 years.
Still steelers haven't fired a head coach since the 60s they aren't about to start with Tomlin, so he has the job as long as he wants it. In pro sports that is unheard of. Why would he leave? Even if they are going to struggle for the next 2-5 years. From the steelers side, Tomlin despite his issues is still a top ten coach in the league. The chances of finding someone better is slim to none.

I love this show. This dude has NEVER had a losing season. Never. He has a WINNING record with BACKUP QBS. If it wasn't for Brady, he'd have been to more super bowls. Dude went to William and Mary, very, very hard school to get into and to graduate from. Dude is a top 3 coach in the NFL imo.

He has a 3-6 playoff record since 2010. 2 of those wins came against backup QBs and Alex Smith. In that span are losses to Tim Tebow, Blake Bortles AT HOME and a humilation by a Cleveland team that hadn't had proper practices for weeks. He had arguably the most talented roster during the 2010s and continued to underachieve. But despite that, we have scores of people who refuse to make an even remotely critical comment about him
Is he good? Yes but he's also overrated.

@@redpillfreedom6692 Jim Harbaugh pre-Lamar Jackson wasnt even MAKING the playoffs 🤫.
Sean Payton went 7-9 three straight years with HOFer Drew Brees. Missed the playoffs THREE STRAIGHT YEARS. Coaches have been fired for less (ask Jim Caldwell, the last head coach to take the hapless Lions to the playoffs and still got fired for Matt Patricia) 🤫.
Bill Belichick in 9 years without Brady is 65 - 78 without Brady, made the playoffs ONCE without Brady, and has NEVER EVER won his division without Brady. Look it up. ZERO DIVISION TITLES without Brady. 1 playoff win in 9 years without Brady 🤫.
Andy Reid was fired in Philly for losing records 🤫.
Peyton Manning had a HOF Defensive Coach in Dungy and a HOF GM in Bill Polian who built the 90s Bills and went one-and-done in the playoffs an NFL RECORD 9 TIMES, despite having 8 top 10 defenses throughout his career (and multiple #1 Overall defenses). During Peyton Mannings first successful Super Bowl winning playoff run he put up 3tds and 7 ints, and in his 2nd successful Super Bowl run, he put up the lowest passer rating of any SB Winning QB in the Super Bowl 🤫.
If Tomlin is "overrated" then so is every single name I mentioned above 🤫.
Facts are stubborn things. Dude has an overrated QB and yet has a better W/L record with his backups than Belichick has without Brady.🤫
And again, Tomlin has NEVER had a losing season despite the endemic parity of the NFL in which, for instance, 4 backup QBs (White for the Jets beating Burrows, Simian for the Saints beating Brady, the Dallas backup QB beating Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith completing 14 straight passes and beating future pro bowl QB Trevor Lawrence) beat 4 more talented QBs this past Sunday alone. 🤫
Again, by any EMPIRICAL measure - i.e. numerical facts not opinions - if Tomlin is overrated so are all those other aforementioned men. 🤫
By saying he had "arguably the most talented roster during the 2010s" you're making a proposition that cannot be affirmed or denied because it's totally subjective. The Ravens produced more defensive pro bowlers and all pros from 2000 onward. I could easily make the argument that Bill Cowher had similarly talented rosters and only won 1 Super Bowl.
2007 Patriots were the most talented team and they choked in the Super Bowl, i guess Belichick sucks now. He couldn't make the playoffs with a top 5 easiest strength of schedule the next season with Matt Cassel and lost his division. Matt Cassel, two seasons later, took a BUM head coach in Todd Haley (a former assistant of Mike Tomlins who rode Tomlin's coattails to a head coaching job in Kansas City) to the playoffs AND their first division title in like 7 years while also making the Pro Bowl. He did NONE of those things while being coached by "genius" (65-78 without Brady) Bill Belichick. 🤫
Tomlin has the 2nd highest win % in the NFL (min of 6 seasons) after Belichick who we've already established is, statistically, a terrible head coach without Brady. 🤫
Sean Payton's been to ONE Super Bowl despite some loaded rosters. And he gets carte blanche? 🤫
Again Peyton Manning went ONE-AND-DONE and NFL RECORD 9 times, averaging under 20 ppg in those losses. I guess, according to your criteria, he's absolute trash. 🤫
Anything else you'd like to me refute? 😉

You guys have one heck of a head coach!
Don't let the media or social media run him out of town.
My feeling is the Gm has let the organization and Big Ben down over the last 3 years.
The Gm should have built the defense(as he did) and the o line and running game to assist in Ben's last years(this is to me the biggest issue, the o line)....
These 3 wr sets are killing your team in my view.
The line can not sustain their pass blocks and they can't run block!!
From what i can see, the OC is also an issue here.
Why not more two TE sets and simply ground and pound?
Big Ben is getting killed when he needs more than 2.5 secs to read the defense...
Why has the Gm not prioritized a potential replacement for Ben?
Leave the Hc and Dc in place and think of replacing the Gm, Oc, and 3/5th's of the o line.....
For goodness sakes, get a shutdown cb!!

Can't have the Killer B's if just 1s left lol.
Injuries, business happens in prof sports.
But those 2 guys just quit on the team. (Add tough Covid year for all teams, etc, but especially bad for rookies loss of camp).

him like an elite coach. Or worse, implying this has something to do with the color of his skin. Guys. Really. Just stop.

I have no problem with Mike Tomlin the coach for right now but the major thing is what he need to do is get rid of his first string quarterback and get a second and third or fourth string quarterback that's where his dilemma is he has to get rid of his first stream quarterback and that's is what's hurting him not the offense or the defense or the special teams he has to pull all of them together to win he can't do it as long as he has that first string quarterback I beg to differ
