My favorite "Spy has a gun" moment has to be a time when I was playing as Medic and charging towards a de-cloaked Spy who I had cornered in a building with my Ubersaw out. The Spy proceeded to moonwalk into the corner and shot me until I was dead before giving me a freeze-frame taught, laughing. My lesson was that Medic has a crossbow, but my weakness is that whenever I see Spy, I see free uber-charge.

also knowing the map is the key to this class. Sometime you feel as if you have the least luck in the world, but you're just in the wrong spots at the wrong time. when that happens to me, it's usually 'cause I don't know the map I'm playing in.
So I play with my husband, and the advice he gave me for the disguise was to not overthink it and remember to put your back to the enemy because turning your back on "your own" teammates goes unnoticed because you're supposed to trust them. He said what tends gives spies away to good players is that they won't turn their back on them, which is suspicious. I probably didn't explain that very well, but it seemed worth mentioning.
just had my first ever "good" game as spy (4th on the leaderboard, full game and 19 backstabs out of 30 kills) and hopped onto youtube to learn some tips because I want to get good with every class and - this video is AMAZING! I feel like I'm actually learning things without being thrown into an ocean of information, this series is really promising!

Aside from learning on how to playing a spy, I just realized I keep coming back to Spy Psychology just to rewatch the animations and editing Jonto has created. It gives off the visual entertainment that improved my learning experience and make me laugh occasionally as I rewatch them… for this video: it’s the Disguise Kit part when the noob Spy says that “disguises don’t fool good players” and then Jonto’s spy gives off a “Oh really?” smile and that hand gesture… That expression Jonto gave himself made me laugh. here’s a quick tip: engineers usually upgrade their tele exit while standing on it so if you see a teleported being upgraded at the entrance with no engi there you can try to go for a telefrag

Another tip: UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, DO NOT TAKE THE INTELLIGENCE. This is due to the fact that you are practically deprived of most of your useful abilities when you have the intel, making you essentially a sitting duck. The only circumstance where you can is when you have either a spy or two watching your back or when it is intended to be a distraction (which normally fails unless you are that good of a spy player)
Thing is for the first few days this video struggled to get even 100 views, then over the course of a few hours the algorithm blessed it and it shot up to 800

Something I'd like to add! To best fool people with your disguise, play as the other classes. Playing as the other classes for awhile, ya learn their movement styles, i.e Demo will usually be strafing back an forth near the back/middle of a group during combat if they're using their GL and Soldiers tend to jump around....ALOT....it gives them a good angle on their rockets when firing at someones feet. An pay attention to who gets spy checked often, like a Pyro with their flamethrower out is almost 100% to get spy checked an that precent goes WAY down if you have your disguise equip a secondary or melee wep. Stuff like that. Also, helps to have a round missing from your revolver if your trying to infiltrate. When you reload your revolver, the disguise also reloads. an best part? You can change your disguises weapon by pulling out the slotted wep/item an hitting a button (I have mine set to C key, but you can change it to anything). Hope this helps! (PS. I am NOT a spy main, but this is stuff I picked up from playing for years)

Yesterday I had a spy match where I disguised as the enemy spy and followed I think a new medic. We were tbagging together, he started doing the kick dance, and the second he turned around I stabbed him, tbagged, and ran away. Sure it was my first spy match, but I still feel bad about it

I first downloaded TF2 like 2 years ago? but didn't quite open it cuz im havin a heck of hard time and too lazy to get better and when i opened it 1 week ago i kinda got the gist of it and i mained demo and pyro and when i had the idea of trying spy when i went to the pipe at the 2Fort map i came across 3 pyro and 1 medic and i somehow killed 3 of em and the medic but died when i came out due to the sniper. Kinda fun and thx for teaching me basic controls of SPY and finally, new stuff to ease my boredome!
Awesome. I'd also like to mention, I feel like stabbing people and taking down buildings is secondary to Spy's ability to cause chaos and distract the enemy. If I had to describe the process of playing him, it's popping in and out of existance for any opprotunity. As for disguises, the way I'd describe using them is like having a sort of "mental protection." This isn't protection like resistence and overheal, it's more like just one less reason for the enemy to istantly shoot you. If you obviously run directly at them or they're already spy checking, that protection is non-existent beyond sentries. Fear no though, you don't always have to fool every enemy you come across. Sometimes you just need to fool one of them. By the way, love those SFM bits you included.
curiosity: i did not know that spy could see enemy's health before watching this spy teatching series, it is good to show this in the tutorials as early as possible as it is a quite usefull mechanic when used correctly

I have over 200 hours of tf2 and I almost know how to play all the classes...except for spy. I usually find spy annoying to play as and play against. This video actually helped me get the overall basics and I hope these videos will help me

Agreed, engineers still have a lot of methods of dealing with spies. Spies are more of a rival to engineers, not a counter.

this is very close to Sound Smith's ho to market garden but it is really nice to see this concept get adapted so well
One thing about backstabs is that you can accidentally get trickstabs. I’ve noticed that it’s more likely to happen with the Spycicle for some reason.

The backstab animation is actually good for spychecking. I've used it multiple times to catch disguised spies and stab them.

I find it so funny that, when first trying out Spy, I just thought my clicks weren’t registering when I tried to stab while invisible.

1:08 Got off TF2 just to hear this. I'm fr just trying to get better and doing my best, and these two guys would not shut up in the chat because I'm new at playing spy but I want to get better, and I told them to stop but they wouldn't. Ended up getting off and now I'm here, not sure if I'll play spy again on there again. Probably one of my worst experiences on uncletopia :(
