I resigned to Deloitte with out an offer in hand too I felt like I was forced to resign due to horrible work culture , but I felt pretty happy and relieved on that minute when I resigned . The work culture they have is horrible , they ask to work even if you are sick or bed ridden too, They ask you to work for 16 hours , 18 hours too , not just 1 or 2 days but even for an extent of 6 months ,which they restrict to enter enter into time sheets . but to make sure to be compliant ,they ask you to enter some extra hours into timesheet for few days keeping compliance issues in mind. Managers expect to be their puppets.
After listening the whole podcast, i understood that, Own Small Business is much more better than working in such big companies. If we have to work that much of the hours for the big companies, then why not work that much of hours for our own business....
Employees must understand their rights under Indian labor laws and ensure their company complies with them. No employee can be forced to work beyond legal limits or compromise their health and well-being due to management pressure. Keep written records of any promises, such as promotions, and avoid being manipulated into unpaid overtime or unreasonable demands. Your salary is a rightful entitlement regardless of management’s subjective expectations. Familiarize yourself with laws like the Factories Act and Shops and Establishments Act to protect yourself. Every worker deserves a respectful and fair work environment, and understanding your rights is the first step to standing against injustice.
All the private employees of India should call a strike because i also left a job because of toxicity and I was advised to not tell anybody about this you will not be hired by any company because all are connected to each other what should be done why should it be tolerated
Even Accenture does the same, after working for standard 5 days, leads will approach for additional support on weekends and when I demanded for the double pay they told me that management haven't notified them regarding the double pay but need to work for 6 days in a week. Later I have raised this concern and it's still going on 😂😂😂 and I am currently working six days in a week

Loved the podcast. The toxic work culture should be reversed and any BIG anything should be sued if even a single employee dies from work pressure. Working hours over means work is over for the day.
Honestly. People are at different level. I dont know who fed this hustle thing in thier head, and they are ready to work for 14 hours. People during interview only, even small companies ask to work for 13-14 hrs, saying thats normal in india. So please stop only focussing Big4, but focus on the entire corporate. Some give excuse saying the client is from us, uk. So why dont you work in their shift only? Or is the the employee is incompetent, which is a thing I have seen myself while being abroad, when people reach out to me to teach them. The question is how do they even get hired? WHy dont you all unite to raise your voice ?
Ey employee here, just one statement- your company is as good as your manager, ey sucks at professionalism and politeness, if i write words thats been used by managers here u might never see EY same way again :) EY? Rather work for call centers you might find better working culture there
This is definitely wrong to state that Deloitte pays 20-25% . It might be possible only in fresher start but after one goes to consultant level , the hike is lesser. The wellness was only in Covid and then it stopped
IT is an extremely harsh and ruthless industry and you will suffer endlessly in this industry. There is no work-life balance in any organisation, all are the same.
Labour law, CSR, business ethics, Sustainability, work life balance, looks like Unicorn to me now. Ye sab sirf padhne padhane ke liye. Irrespective of the industry, everyone is overworked and underpaid. There is neither job security, you can go jobless overnight even if you have work for 10 or 20 years. What are we getting It's good that people are talking about it. Labour court should intervene. We need solution to this not another Anna Sebastian.
In the professional services industry, work-life balance is seriously compromised. It is a by-product of the corporate policies set by the management. Only good managers can be anyone's solace..
@aditya_shelar, because Managers are also shaped by the same system. Their professional and personal ethos overlap. What they have experienced is what they pass on below..
360digree feedback should be there in every company. Employees are not united. If all would be united then management will have to change their duty culture. In India, every employee wants to be closer to management and wants to show he is different than others so that he can get promotion. Work life balance can be managed by the company if employees start maintaining their duty hours. Stop overtime if you are not paid properly.
I have worked in Deutsche bank here in US and there were worst things going on. Unfortunately my manager was bad Indian Manager still with the same company and he asked me literally in US am I ready to smoke with him. I left the project
Yes toxic Manager can ruin a lot of things... especially no peace of mind. They don't know much & not willing to learn or understand instead they get completely insecured and try to put unnecessary pressure & assign non value add work to satisfy their ego...I'm happy I left that Team & moved to a different Team. I get to learn new things, voice out my opinions or inputs & mostly importantly my Manager encourages proper work life balance ...

Credit Suisse for majority of parts had great work culture. One thing I want to ask here, is the extreme burden of work in the Big 4 only for consultancy roles? Or for the Tech roles as well? If I join as an Automation QA, suppose in Deloitte, should I expect the same work culture as consultancy? (some of my friends are in Deloitte/PWC in Consultancy roles so got some idea about the work pressure)

Cheep labour + Harrassment + Overloaded work= Employee in a company. This formula is used in company in India
I am working with Amazon although there are daily challenges that an employee could have but the work culture is the best.

Work for a smaller companies, if not big
But work with passion and work hard
Any Idea how toxic smaller ones are. Don't give some suggestions, India doesn't have it. Work with passion without sleeping, eating, etc so the CEO can spend on useless expenses.
Actually before applying, it's better to know about the company.. It's difficult but possible..
thanks for hosting such open, candid discussions and sharing these details. one suggestion: for larger audience & reach, is it possible to add English subtitle or make podcast in English?
Planning some content in English soon, will update, thanks for the feedback.
Fantastic podcast. Very informative & eye opening one.
I come from humble background If I don't have option then how to work in toxic environment or if i leave what should I do?
Sis/Bro simultaneously prepare for gov exam or work on yourself, master yourself in one skill and get out of toxic work place. Work more on yourself than ur job

Was really good podcast could relate to most things. Hope you keep bringing more cheers
Great prodcast...real people real experience..pls make more videos like this to spread awareness inside india 🇮🇳
Looking forward to getting on podcast with you give out more info and knowledge as to how not only the big 4 but big 6 work along with their anomalies and how the corporate functions. In anticipation of your reachout
Thanks for this genuine discussion.
Mr Aditya it’s too much politics everywhere at work even abroad don’t think abroad ur bosses don’t push u or don’t give u stress it’s same everywhere
End of the day company and management will only win and not employee, so quit if you are an employee but don't fight in company, because employee will not get any benefit of it.
Bahut badhiya. Thanks for making video😊
Talk about main points that How some management people exploits employees, new joinees
How HR is insufficient to satisfy it's employees. How few fast learners purposely suck managers & increase the targets for everyone
Loved the podcast. The toxic work culture should be reversed and any BIG anything should be sued if even a single employee dies from work pressure.
Working hours over means work is over for the day.
I have worked for 2-3 companies and never seen a toxic culture at all. All of my managers and ex-managers are still in contact with me.
Wow this one eye opening, I was searching this kind of advice in lockdown, now I have left job. It's been one year. I am scared of going back to work.
Rather work for call centers you might find better working culture there
Why don't you write? What are you afraid of? It's not even your real name or dp 😂😂
@ u are funny mate
This is definitely wrong to state that Deloitte pays 20-25% . It might be possible only in fresher start but after one goes to consultant level , the hike is lesser. The wellness was only in Covid and then it stopped
IT is an extremely harsh and ruthless industry and you will suffer endlessly in this industry. There is no work-life balance in any organisation, all are the same.
When govt. ensures we pay taxes, they should ensure we get work life balance as well. Govt. should ensure no employee is made to overwork.
What are we getting
It's good that people are talking about it.
Labour court should intervene. We need solution to this not another Anna Sebastian.
In the professional services industry, work-life balance is seriously compromised. It is a by-product of the corporate policies set by the management. Only good managers can be anyone's solace..
Yes, and it is extremely rare nowadays to find good managers.
Accountability sheet is the best idea for any employee. Family is much more important than your employer.
I left Deloitte 3 month ago, I was working hard there but in return I get stress and hypertension for free . No reward no recognition
I have worked in Deutsche bank here in US and there were worst things going on. Unfortunately my manager was bad Indian Manager still with the same company and he asked me literally in US am I ready to smoke with him. I left the project
Thank you that Dalal Narayan Murty selling out his people needs to be called out too
Yes toxic Manager can ruin a lot of things... especially no peace of mind.
Why goi not bringing any strict laws regarding corporates???

If you know business rules then you will not worry.
Always remember after working hours this is not employee's business to provide support.
And one more thing
No body have right to mock someone except org owner.
And if organization not follow basic standard then you will suffer with toxic work place culture
And suddenly people resign from the job no matter what amount of salary they have.

Guys im working as a senior associate in one consultantinh in pwc india and jan 2025 where ill complete my 3 years. Now im not sure whether ill get a promotion to manage or not because im good with technical stuff but not that great when it comes to managemental stuff. I want to continue as a technical manager rather then a people's manager. Can anyone give some suggestions what are the changes one should expect after becoming a manager in big 4 from a technology consulting background?
Thank you so much for this podcast!
My client was EY..I was working on an Audit project..In 2.5 years I never thought I had work pressure etc..I think it depends on an individual and profile..BTW i am a Software Engineer
Yes, I completely agree!
Yes, it depends on project or client you are working with..should not be generalized
Forget about the big 4, product based companies are no saint. I think source of the issue are Indian managers. Successfully I had got another company and am on notice period, hoping I ll not get a good manager this time.

Sir I want to add something
Some butter type employees are working more than working hours than our managers are asking to us that if these people can work than why you not
Credit Suisse for majority of parts had great work culture.
I have seen people working with the bank for more than 20-30 years
Supporting the point at 14:00
A friend of mine from KPMG was paid 15k/m with 3 years experience in the company training someone placed from Symbiosis with 12 LPA for same work
One thing I want to ask here, is the extreme burden of work in the Big 4 only for consultancy roles? Or for the Tech roles as well? If I join as an Automation QA, suppose in Deloitte, should I expect the same work culture as consultancy? (some of my friends are in Deloitte/PWC in Consultancy roles so got some idea about the work pressure)
It's for all the roles...generally if ur Client is good and ur Manager is good then it's good ...otherwise the toxic work culture is not limited to any roles
What are you doing currently aditya ji. Aur are you able to earn what you used to earn un job
I am doing well, joined teaching profession now, thank you for asking, highly appreciated! :))
Over Population -> Over Competition -> Easily Dispensable -> Lower Quality of Life
Overpopulation is the source of all problems in India 😂
Absolutely bro
hello sir thank you for sharing your experience i learned a lot from this video. and could you please let me know where i can find more information about your company ?
We need to fight to make the work culture the same at all places... Why is it that in India the same company treats us like a donkey .
Even the indian banking system is on the same page ..have a podcast with someone from the bank officerd .the workculture day by day in banks is getting worse..The PUblic sectors banks are also leading the race of torturing employess in the names of worklife balance ..
address the causes not the effects
Feedback noted, thanks :))
Everyone is talking about work pressure and long hours but no one talked about the forceful resignation done by these Big4s over last 6 months. It’s like chewing gum and then throwing it away after absorbing all its taste making it worthless. Would like to advice young folks who wants to work in these kind of so called corporate culture to look for some good work place with good work environment. They know that if one will leave 100 will step up to fill its place just because of the brand image.
And because of unemployment
how much is the layoffs and resignation this year?
Insightful ❤

I used to work 12 or 13 hrs in IT company too during 2015 to 2020, so many overnights stay at office to work... it was so norm for me that i didt even think it was a corparate/management abuse... i just suffered thinking it was my personal problems .. not able to meet the standards manager is asking...everyone else are doing too so it was normal office culture... finally its all getting out.. hope we can reform

I think these tremendous work pressure is only in accounts or other non software domain?
Good and bad management or culture is evident across all industries, even in non software domain.
