Still not completed, but still working on, because it is not easy to change the more than 100 years old system. So many committee is still working on it. The problem is : 1. “Good” - “obedient” girls bear with all the torture of in-laws and don’t use the law to help themselves . They are probably looking after 2 kids , managing work , and in-laws , and probably end up with chronic health issues - such as cancer . 2. “Good” - “obedient” boys end up in good salaried / business options and then get stuck with either their own parents who taunt their daughter in law ( who could be from the 1st point ) - and leave no option but opt for divorce . Or these men get involved with wrong girls who are basically there to extort the man and unfortunately this is true for most such men . 3. Bad boys and girls - morally corrupt etc - don’t deserve discussion except - blackmail is wrong .

Couple of things here: 1) In Indian society, arranged marriages still constitute like 95% marriages because love marriages are for "character-less" or "laundiya-baaz" people (at least that's the traditional thinking). 2) Now when these brides or dulhans of arranged marriage go to their in laws, in the old times say 30 years back, it was not easy for brides to commuinicate with her own family. But thanks to mobile and cheap Internet the brides now-a-days only go thru physical "Vidaii" but mentally and in spirit their vidaii never happens. If teh bride is from middle class family, she probably has maid/cooks/cleaners taking care of the household chores, so what bride is doing is staying in touch with her parents/siblings, this becomes more pronounced in case of NRI bride where she leaves India and goes to a foreign land so pretty much all her free time is spent talking to her parents/siblings. Result is she gets "feedback and advise" from parents/siblings. So the need to adjust or adapt to her new environment is never her priority. 3) Also, in these arranged (or gold digger) marriages, the girls family priortizes income/wealth/power as criteria for groom selection. The boy must be more educated, taller, earning more and wealthier than the girl. He could be darker, balding, chubby/fat and his face could look like shit and thats not a problem. BUT after the marriage this same girl would wear "equality" hat and claim she is no lesser than the boy. Also, this same girl who is now claiming to be equal is more likely to have entered this marriage due to pressure from males (her father/brother) of her own family. In some cases, girl's father or brother will use the girl as remote control to "guide" the groom, especially if arranged marriage involves 2 stages of engagement followed by actual marriage. In these cases, because girl and boy are engaged they start talking with each other then the girl tells the boy that she would look down upon any boy who is asking for dowry or car or any money (and nothing wrong with that) BUT after the marriage this same girl will tell the boy that how ashamed she feels if her husband cannot even get her car. Her father's money is sacred, it acnnot be used to buy a car but her husband's money MUST be used to buy car. Another example that comes to mind is of girl who gets married to a boy in Canada, teh girl was dentist in India but when she move dto Canada she needed to do Canadian school/exams to be able to practice in Canada so she expected her husband to fund her 40K dollar education (did I mention she was against dowry?). This is the modern day hypocrisy. 4) "Shaadi ka laddu" - the one if eats it regrets it and one who does not eat it also regrets it. This used to be the old saying. What is this "shaadi ka laddu" exactly? Lets break it down. My best guess is this laddu is "sex". Since pre-marital sex was a taboo socially and Im not sure if it was legally too. But now "live-in" is ok, what is live in, if I live with my friends am I in "live-in"? No, Im not. "Live-in" is code for pre-marital sex, just like "past" is code for pre-marital relationship. So the "shaddi ka laddu" can be had WITHOUT the marriage now. True that the girl can still accuse you of rapeand domestic violence etc but so can the wife. Only Im guessing the situation will be less complex when you are not married, no alimony no maintainance. 5) One of the fundamental differences between Capitalism and Communism was private was public ownership. People value things they own and they do not value or care about govt/public property. For example, an average looking guy gets into relationship with a very good looking girl who is completely delusional and has no sense of responsibility coz she has never been held accountable, she could arrive late and still be able to enter a event with her smile. Now if that girl decides to wear short clothes or have another "friend" or stay over night with this other "friend" what can this average looking boyfriend of hers do? If he argues they could breakup but if he is smart and realizes that this girl is not HIS (public property, he is current boyfrind but there will be many more in future) and his time with her is like a rental lease so he could be that "understanding" boyfriend and enjoy her while potentially sharing her with her friend or end the relationship. People thought of wives more like a "private" property (are my feminists bitches mad yet?) But with modern laws, you have to wonder are they? I would not care what my girldfriend wears, she could turn her "hoe" on 100% and I would not care, why should I, just like I change my job and upgrade to a new mobile every 3 years, I will switch to a new girl in 3 years so why should I care? I would be as understranding and supportive as swingers are to their wives lol. 6) Who desgined all these modern marriage laws? Well, we copy west. And who designed them in west? Its the lawyers, judges bascally legal people. Do you think they will benefit if there are more divorces? In USA, there no-fault divorces, which menas you can just wake up and say everything is fine BUT I want a divorce. If the husband is rich, its a one button push job for wife, just talk to lawyer and the lawyer will do the rest. Wife will not pay any court or lawyer fee, it is all covered by husband and she gets a big chunk. There are prenup laws in USA but even they can be challenged and unless prenup was watertight husband can still end up loosing big chunk of his wealth. 7) Only the rich, famous, powerful VIPs will be able to afford a wife in future just like gun licenses in India 8) What do actually boys lose when they dont marry? Nothing. Except for social stigma that you got a girlfriend (=mistress or hoe) there is nothing to lose and if you dont care about what others think then you should be fine. Supreme court has blessed live-ins so its legal, just dont fight with your girlfriend coz she can screw you up, just remember you are leasing her and be super supportive. And the more people that get into live-in the more normalisation will happen and social stigma will disappera and we would end up like west with declining population and people in their late 50s but single coz they hopped from one partner to another and now they are old, ugly and broke so single. But if you are old, ugly and RICH you can still date 20 something girl and be her sugar daddy (look at Trump and Ivanka, just remember NOT to marry. Summary: Tradition is religion based but its the modern day laws that shape society and current laws seem to be discouraging marriage. India is over populated country so if we get one generation of childless people what difference it will make, its about time we start seeing lot of old cat ladies in India just like USA/Europe - wouldn't that be sign of progress?

Lastly one real story for all of you though I always used to think ki sahi hai ya galat but now after listening to him I think what happened was right , a friend of a relative was getting divorced and the alimony was 10 Lacs in the beginning then after many years of fighting shit, it came to 1 Croce but the twist is after so much pain and agony the guy's family got the girl killed for 20 lacs and all evidences were tampered. You can decide for yourself whether you like it or not but this reminds of a story which my dadi used to tell me in childhood. Sher aaya sher aaya and jis din sach mai aaya us din koi bachane nahi aaya mai ladkiyon ke against nahi hu but jo misuse kr rahe hai law unke saath agar aisa ho raha hai toh it's good and I stand by it. Now enjoy the case. Be patient and calm. Arrest will not happen and you will learn the tricks over the time to fight these false cases. Make sure she spends rest of the life in court premises now.

The problem is :
1. “Good” - “obedient” girls bear with all the torture of in-laws and don’t use the law to help themselves . They are probably looking after 2 kids , managing work , and in-laws , and probably end up with chronic health issues - such as cancer .
2. “Good” - “obedient” boys end up in good salaried / business options and then get stuck with either their own parents who taunt their daughter in law ( who could be from the 1st point ) - and leave no option but opt for divorce . Or these men get involved with wrong girls who are basically there to extort the man and unfortunately this is true for most such men .
3. Bad boys and girls - morally corrupt etc - don’t deserve discussion except - blackmail is wrong .

@ yeah , that’s true . Also, men get smaller end of the stick with respect to laws etc. but women who are of the 1st type - always are taunted and judged harshly by the society .. it’s not easy in short for either of the genders if they are good humans and end up with wrong life partners !

Those women who are really facing violence don't even complain about violence due to lack of knowledge, social fear and the majority in villages. But due to some women who are misusing these laws it became a fact that all are misusing the laws. I think fakes are misusing and the reals are not even complaining.

Couple of things here:
1) In Indian society, arranged marriages still constitute like 95% marriages because love marriages are for "character-less" or "laundiya-baaz" people (at least that's the traditional thinking).
2) Now when these brides or dulhans of arranged marriage go to their in laws, in the old times say 30 years back, it was not easy for brides to commuinicate with her own family. But thanks to
mobile and cheap Internet the brides now-a-days only go thru physical "Vidaii" but mentally and in spirit their vidaii never happens. If teh bride is from middle class family, she probably
has maid/cooks/cleaners taking care of the household chores, so what bride is doing is staying in touch with her parents/siblings, this becomes more pronounced in case of NRI bride where she
leaves India and goes to a foreign land so pretty much all her free time is spent talking to her parents/siblings. Result is she gets "feedback and advise" from parents/siblings. So the need
to adjust or adapt to her new environment is never her priority.
3) Also, in these arranged (or gold digger) marriages, the girls family priortizes income/wealth/power as criteria for groom selection. The boy must be more educated, taller, earning more and
wealthier than the girl. He could be darker, balding, chubby/fat and his face could look like shit and thats not a problem. BUT after the marriage this same girl would wear "equality" hat
and claim she is no lesser than the boy. Also, this same girl who is now claiming to be equal is more likely to have entered this marriage due to pressure from males (her father/brother) of
her own family. In some cases, girl's father or brother will use the girl as remote control to "guide" the groom, especially if arranged marriage involves 2 stages of engagement followed by
actual marriage. In these cases, because girl and boy are engaged they start talking with each other then the girl tells the boy that she would look down upon any boy who is asking for dowry
or car or any money (and nothing wrong with that) BUT after the marriage this same girl will tell the boy that how ashamed she feels if her husband cannot even get her car. Her father's money
is sacred, it acnnot be used to buy a car but her husband's money MUST be used to buy car. Another example that comes to mind is of girl who gets married to a boy in Canada, teh girl was
dentist in India but when she move dto Canada she needed to do Canadian school/exams to be able to practice in Canada so she expected her husband to fund her 40K dollar education (did I mention
she was against dowry?). This is the modern day hypocrisy.
4) "Shaadi ka laddu" - the one if eats it regrets it and one who does not eat it also regrets it. This used to be the old saying. What is this "shaadi ka laddu" exactly? Lets break it down. My
best guess is this laddu is "sex". Since pre-marital sex was a taboo socially and Im not sure if it was legally too. But now "live-in" is ok, what is live in, if I live with my friends am I
in "live-in"? No, Im not. "Live-in" is code for pre-marital sex, just like "past" is code for pre-marital relationship. So the "shaddi ka laddu" can be had WITHOUT the marriage now. True that
the girl can still accuse you of rapeand domestic violence etc but so can the wife. Only Im guessing the situation will be less complex when you are not married, no alimony no maintainance.
5) One of the fundamental differences between Capitalism and Communism was private was public ownership. People value things they own and they do not value or care about govt/public property.
For example, an average looking guy gets into relationship with a very good looking girl who is completely delusional and has no sense of responsibility coz she has never been held
accountable, she could arrive late and still be able to enter a event with her smile. Now if that girl decides to wear short clothes or have another "friend" or stay over night with this
other "friend" what can this average looking boyfriend of hers do? If he argues they could breakup but if he is smart and realizes that this girl is not HIS (public property, he is current boyfrind
but there will be many more in future) and his time with her is like a rental lease so he could be that "understanding" boyfriend and enjoy her while potentially sharing her with her friend or end
the relationship. People thought of wives more like a "private" property (are my feminists bitches mad yet?) But with modern laws, you have to wonder are they? I would not care what my girldfriend
wears, she could turn her "hoe" on 100% and I would not care, why should I, just like I change my job and upgrade to a new mobile every 3 years, I will switch to a new girl in 3 years so why should
I care? I would be as understranding and supportive as swingers are to their wives lol.
6) Who desgined all these modern marriage laws? Well, we copy west. And who designed them in west? Its the lawyers, judges bascally legal people. Do you think they will benefit if there are more divorces?
In USA, there no-fault divorces, which menas you can just wake up and say everything is fine BUT I want a divorce. If the husband is rich, its a one button push job for wife, just talk to lawyer and
the lawyer will do the rest. Wife will not pay any court or lawyer fee, it is all covered by husband and she gets a big chunk. There are prenup laws in USA but even they can be challenged and unless
prenup was watertight husband can still end up loosing big chunk of his wealth.
7) Only the rich, famous, powerful VIPs will be able to afford a wife in future just like gun licenses in India
8) What do actually boys lose when they dont marry? Nothing. Except for social stigma that you got a girlfriend (=mistress or hoe) there is nothing to lose and if you dont care about what others think
then you should be fine. Supreme court has blessed live-ins so its legal, just dont fight with your girlfriend coz she can screw you up, just remember you are leasing her and be super supportive. And
the more people that get into live-in the more normalisation will happen and social stigma will disappera and we would end up like west with declining population and people in their late 50s but single
coz they hopped from one partner to another and now they are old, ugly and broke so single. But if you are old, ugly and RICH you can still date 20 something girl and be her sugar daddy (look at Trump
and Ivanka, just remember NOT to marry.
Summary:
Tradition is religion based but its the modern day laws that shape society and current laws seem to be discouraging marriage. India is over populated country so if we get one generation of childless people
what difference it will make, its about time we start seeing lot of old cat ladies in India just like USA/Europe - wouldn't that be sign of progress?

Lastly one real story for all of you though I always used to think ki sahi hai ya galat but now after listening to him I think what happened was right , a friend of a relative was getting divorced and the alimony was 10 Lacs in the beginning then after many years of fighting shit, it came to 1 Croce but the twist is after so much pain and agony the guy's family got the girl killed for 20 lacs and all evidences were tampered. You can decide for yourself whether you like it or not but this reminds of a story which my dadi used to tell me in childhood. Sher aaya sher aaya and jis din sach mai aaya us din koi bachane nahi aaya mai ladkiyon ke against nahi hu but jo misuse kr rahe hai law unke saath agar aisa ho raha hai toh it's good and I stand by it. Bye now.
