I am so glad I had never played a previous final fantasy game or knew anything about the hype or history of it being final fantasy vs 15 or whatever. I just found the game, thought it looked cool and bought the royal edition whilst it was on special and almost 60 hours later, I'd found a game that I had truly enjoyed exploring. Only to find that almost the entire internet hated or was disappointed by the game, quite a revelation but I love Final Fantasy XV and I always will.

Use the CD player to change the theme song for Alticia to Arroyo Bello from the Lucian Crusin collection and Lestallum to Benevolence from brotherhood. It makes the towns so much better. Trust.

Been loving FFXV since day one it came out, and still playing it. This is one of those games that you just want to dive into and forget about reality for hour or two, meet up with the bros, and just hang around lucian landscapes or grind in insomnia to sooth my mind through the stress. Nevertheless, great video mate, Thanks for sharing it. Youve explained 100% similar of how I would feel towards the game.

I discovered your channel through your Shenmue reviews, so imagine my delight when you compared XV (one of my favorite games) to Shenmue (one of my favorite games). This is a great video.

i never played FFXV, but i just did the FFXV crossover event in FFXIV yesterday, and got to spend time with Noctis. hes a really cool guy! and he lent me his warp ability for the fight with garuda. i really liked spending time with him and fighting alongside him. it made me curious to check out if FFXV was good. then i found your video. one of the best videos ive seen. i love how much you love this game!

Thank you for this review. I've been exploring the universe of FFXV to the end. I've been told the game was a mediocre dissapointment, but to this day I still find this game amazing. I could never put into words how epic and charming the game is but this vid did. I acknowledged it's flaws and dispite it found it an masterpiece. Thank you. The game gets so much uneeded hate and this vid DESERVES more views.

Loved this video. So refreshing to see a long video review like this with overwhelming positivity and enthusiasm, balanced by fair criticism too. XV was my first Final Fantasy game, and it was your 2016 GOTY podcast that made me check it out the first time. I think this video is going to send me back in for a replay soon.

One of the biggest mistakes they made in this game is not mentioning the Starscourge by name anywhere in base game 2016. It literally made the story seem like it was falling apart. But once you know what's going on, the story is actually very well thought out.

I personally loved chapter 13. From s narrative standpoint, it couldn't have been stronger. I was so engrossed in the story at that point that I was excited to continue.

Just to let Joe know, this review convinced me to play FFXV, watch the anime prequels and Kingsglaive, and I just finished the last bit of DLC with Episode Ardyn. I both loved and hated all of it - some truly wonderful parts connected by an obviously disfunctional development process. A truly fascinating game project. Thanks to you guys for producing this video and for me for being stupid enough to do all this.
I'm probably gonna read the stupid book when it's released in English, too. Honestly don't know if I should thank you for the good times or curse you for the obvious madness you've inflicted on me.

Easily one of the best videos you have ever done. While I don't share the amount of passion you do for the game as shown throughout, I did very much enjoy my time with it when I played it back in 2016 and early 2017. I actually watched the film and anime before the game came out also so I knew more about the world and characters themselves because of it and probably helped me like the relationship between Noctis and his friends even more. I haven't gone back and played the various episodes or the multiplayer stuff, which I might someday.

Darro85 Comrades is worth a shot, but it’s better with actual players instead of bots. It’s coming out as a stand-alone game soon so hopefully that’ll up the numbers of players

This vídeo is really well made and desserves more views!
I also love this game, so it's nice to someone that enjoys it too!
It is full of love and passion, but still with criticism!
And just one small detail. The combat is not automated. it feels like it because you hold attack. But smashing the attack button is the same as holding. And you also has dozens of movesets (directionals), that also takes away from the automated argument.

Great video! You really put a lot of thought and effort in getting your point across and it easily shows. I'm right there with you in wanting to explore pre-fall Insomnia.
Looking forward to seeing more XV related videos from you. Also, would you please link me to that remade XV trailer you mentioned in your video. I cant seem to find it. Thanks!

True, i mean since FFXII ever ff game sucked ass until ffxv came out and it's amazing it has everything... A great story, memorable characters, vast beautiful open world with lotta things to do, interesting events that keeps u curious for what's coming next and a great gameplay idk what these stupid copycat gamers want... The only things i didn't like was was the poor driving thing and some repetitive side missions but other than that there's nothing wrong with it's perfect... Oh speaking about perfect " chocobos "

The comparison between FFXV feeling like a real world and GTA feeling like a toy world is a really interesting one! I think what it comes down to is that, while many players complain when there's empty space in open world games, every square foot of the real world isn't filled with curated content personally directed towards each individual person. A setting crammed full of curated content is a sandbox, not a world.
The train ride in the Niflheim continent is a great example -- the developers created an enormous amount of territory that you only ever see from the window of a train. But is that all too different to what you would see if you took a train across Europe?

Lestallum was based off of something Cuban. So I get why the music is why it is but it doesn't match the actual place. Lestallum far as I know is nowhere near as energetic or festive as the music keeps trying to say it is. So it just ends up feeling too much. It's like if you were in Midgar and you just heard fucking bombing mission the whole time you were there.

FF15 is a bad video game but a great experience.
A lot of the component parts are excellent (gameplay, world, characters, main plot points) but they're just very poorly put together. It feels like a game made by really smart and creative people who just hadn't made a video game before.
It's kinda the polar opposite of Nintendo's games. Their games are really simple and often unoriginal but they're put together into video game form so masterfully.

it is bad video game because the combat is bad and the level design is horrible. the world building is good but what always makes ffxv feel epic are the always amazing music. even when what's happening on screen is nonsense most of the time, the music always raises what should've been a bad scene. story boss fights are mostly qte and dungeon bosses are just mostly endurance fights. story of ffxv was okay. most of the time, games are about the journey and the end is just the end. my journey with ffxv was just cringing at the dialogue and just waiting for the next cutscene to happen but the last chapter i had a very good experience. i can't say the journey was worth it though. by the end, i just think it was an okay experience.
nyx on the other hand, is still my favorite character in the xv world. and they did him wrong! not even a mention. just a weapon easter egg and his dead body hanged for some reason. freaking libertus had a mention on a sidequest but nyx nothing lmao. dude spent more time with adult lunafreya than noctis!
