@@LucyLeheilleix I live in the United States;I’m sure that you are aware of the hunger problems; and poverty in the United States. After viewing a few of your You Tube videos; I just can’t imagine that there are any of the hunger problems;and poverty in Mauritius that exist in the United States; and Madagascar. So much food in this video! I live in Louisville, Kentucky six months of the year; and Louisville was named after a French King! The statue of King Louis (“Loo-ee”) the 16th of France that stands outside the Jefferson County Courthouse in downtown Louisville turned 190 years old in 2019 and marked its 50th year in Louisville in 2017. The Achille-Joseph Valois sculpture of France’s King Louis XVI pictured in 2003. The statue is 12 feet tall and weighs 9 tons.. It was removed from its downtown location a few years ago after the BLM protesters; and their sympathizers defaced the statue.
Growing up in Mauritius, I knew it was beautiful and precious but as a kid, I took so much for granted and never really appreciated it until I left. I've been away for over 20 yrs now and watching all those videos and seeing it from someone else's eyes makes me miss it a lot. A lot of those places bring back a lot of childhood memories, the beaches, the food, the lifestyle. It seems to have changed a lot as well, all the new places and developments etc. Thanks for being so passionate about it and for showing it to the world!
Thanks for this lovely comment. I do believe that Mauritius has changed greatly, particularly over the last 15 years. In some ways I think it's being over developed and wish there was a way to turn back time and take myself back to this place 25 years ago when it really was paradise. You'll have to come back some day. All of the best!
Left Mauritius 10years ago and have been travelling a lot since and now living in Montreal. Your vlog reminds me how great is my small island 😍. Thank you very much! Good job 👍
It's so interesting to see these travel vlogs. I know many people who visited Mauritius and other exciting places in the world but they're not able to tell you even one bit and in such colourful detail of their travels.
Thanks so much Marcuss for watching! Primary gear used was canon 80D with a canon wide angle lens (Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM), Osmo handheld gimbal, Rode video mic pro and Joby gorilla pod. :)
I have to also thank you for you brilliant English which is absolutely amazing and thanks for that. I’m not from the English native speaker country and am very happy with your every video I have seen. Only a few people from RUclipsrs have this preference :)
This shopping zone has to be taken with care…..the spice shop on the first floor near the umbrella walkway, well….to say we were ripped off would be an understatement…..ok I did haggle to get the price down, but………the best place in my opinion to get real Mauritian Vanille has to be either at the market in Port Louis or up in the market in Curepipe……my father in law went to the Royal College there, back in the late 40’s..
Hello there! When I'm vlogging outside in a run and gun scenario, I use the Rode video mic pro and a canon 80d camera. When I'm in a controlled environment (usually indoors) I use Sony lapel mics and sometimes a Zoom H4n audio recorder. Check out the rode mics as they are excellent: www.rode.com/microphones/all
Hi Lucy, with regards to this video, you mentioned Caudan Waterfront only while you also captured the Port Louis Waterfront. Most grateful if you could add Port Louis Waterfront in your text. Furthermore, it is Port Louis Waterfront by Landscope Mauritius which undergone the massive refurbishment, phase I inaugurated in May 2019. For more info, you can visit www.portlouiswaterfront.com Thank you.
Kinda look like Jodie Foster...A little bit? Btw, I've just returned from the Caudan Waterfront The Craft Market has been reduced to ashes, not so long ago
As a Mauritian studying abroad this is awesome content to remind me of how perfect Mauritius is. Quality content as usual Lucy 👍🏽
So glad that I'm offering you a bit of a glimpse into your lovely country and keeping up the great memories for you! Good luck with the studies :)

It was a free shuttle service from the Sofren (one of the hotels in the Caudan).

Sadly I don't think Rode is the cheapest....but well worth it if you can afford it.
