    the problem with expats, is that they tend to think local, and exotic, thus looking for places different from that of their country, which is quite normal, but mauritius is not ONLY about exotic, wild nature, beaches, if you integrate correctly in the society, you will see it is much much more, culture wise, N.b, lived in France for ten years and then came back to homecounty

    Also, find a Chinese restaurant that does a 'steamboat' fondue where you cook the food yourself - the kids will love it.
    How's your Creole coming along after being there for a while?

      Hi Stanley! I think I’ve seen that steam boat dish before. Will absolutely try it soon. Thanks for the tip. I know a few phrases in Creole now, but my husband is way better at speaking it than me!

    We were at Marilyn monroe today and the food and service was mediocre. We were 3 and the first service arrived after 35 mns even that there were only 3 people before us! we waited another 20 mns before all were served .Spicy food was sugary and deprived of local taste.Very disappointing !

    Similar to what the government of most European, North America , Australia etc are curbing down on immigrants coming to their countries, Mauritius government should be careful as well not to let too many foreigners in our Island otherwise we will lose our identity and culture etc

    • @LucyLeheilleix
      @LucyLeheilleix  3 года назад

      In the current economic climate, I think the government will be trying very hard to get more foreigners to invest here, not less. Times are tough.

      @watiflappynounou3302 3 года назад +1

      @@LucyLeheilleix ...True , but in my opinion being a small Island Mauritius already had its share of investors but it’s just a matter of managing the investments which are already in with less corruption from the government. After having lost over 90% of beautiful public beaches to hotel investments , I would be reluctant to let investors building more hotels. Maybe on different sectors but certainly not more hotels or bungalows.

      Thanks for commenting, but to my knowledge, noodles (min frite and min bouille) and rice dishes (like bol renverser) are very much Mauritian. They exist in most food stalls and restaurants. Chinese type dishes and curries are also very much loved here, and that’s what makes Mauritius so wonderful - the mix of African, Asian, Indian and European influences combining into incredible food experiences.
