Oldest daughter syndrome is real. I felt that young lady. It took a while for my mom to realize the pressure put on me. It has gotten better but when problems come up, they call me immediately including my siblings. Keep standing up and saying no, respect your own boundaries.
I'm the baby daughter and I'm in that same position. I think they call the person they KNOW will answer and take care of things. I love my mother to life and she's 73 now and I always answer I always take care of things because I fear that the one time I don't and she's no longer with me I will live with regret forever. It's a mental thing that I'm working through as the young lady on the stage. I have to limit the others but always show up for Moms. But yes ma'am it's a lot of pressure especially feeling like who shows up for me. Stay encouraged, set boundaries and do what you need for your own mental health..TAKE CARE OF YOU❤❤❤!!!
Some parents don’t understand that the oldest daughter takes on a lot of mothers problems, it’s a lot to deal with, I should have said oldest sons too, they take on a lot of responsibility, and it’s unfortunate.
This is the first time in my life I’ve heard of oldest daughter syndrome and I’m now 53. Im also the only daughter. It feels good to know I’m not alone.

I was 29 when my 16yo sister came to live with me. I supported her 90% of the time. No mattr how tired I was, I wouldn't have ever sent her back. As the eldest sister, you sent her back knowing she was touched. So wht she lied abt the abuse! This was hard for me. Im the eldest and always showed up for them
I thought this too at first (I went through a similar situation). But then I realized she didn’t send her back to the aunts where she got touched. She sent her to live with the mom. Which is probably helping to force mom to get her shit together and older sister to stop enabling the shitty parenting

Vanessa needs a safe place to live where there are limits on her behavior. Erika is a drug addiction who chooses drugs over her kids. That's the worse part of addiction. So, Vanessa should not to return home until mom is clean and still in treatment. Family sessions are needed too.
#1 They still need to settle the housing situation. Dad is young enough to be on his own. Karamo should have made him promise to find his own housing.

Someone needs to tell the mom to press charges on the adult that’s harboring her underage daughter. The girl is out of control, grown acting and disrespectful. That’s why she could not stay with her older sister. The older sister said she wouldn’t listen and did what she wanted. Making excuses for her unruly actions will only hurt her in the end. However I do understand he may have done things to trigger what was already laying dormant inside of her.

The only thing I saw was her being overwhelmed with her dads presence in her home because he was leaving burn wholes in her property, not paying rent and overstayed his welcome. She doesn’t seem bothered at all that her mom wasn’t around actually, so it seems he did pretty good job but he can’t do that to her, she’s 27 with her own kid, she can’t take care of dad too.

LISTEN! I have a habit for being harsh sometimes but this second story had me in TEARS! That baby is so broken and so is the rest of the family! My heart aches for all 3 of them. I have never been on drugs but I work in the environment and have for almost 18 years so I already know that everyone’s will to get clean is not a one size fits all no matter how much you want it for them! I have not one word bad to say🙏🏽

The 1st episode makes a strong case for mandatory DNA testing at birth. It is rare for a mother to ever wonder if a child is indeed hers, but a father is another story. It is not just about the father in question. It is about the child. They have the right to know who their biological parents are without a shadow of a doubt....
I am ALL for this, and I hope there is some legislation in the future regarding this subject. This is ridiculous.

Nah. This episode wasn’t it. So many red flag major issues were not addressed. Maybe the issues were too big for the time segment, two very heavy situations, but this wasn’t it. 27 year old taking care of her father, he wasn’t checked. 15 year old getting sexually abused, not checked. I understand that this is a tv show at the end of the day, but if it’s to this extent, I pray to God that once those cameras stopped rolling, some real conversations were had and some real resources and solutions came about. Lord have mercy, smdh.
