After the infamous turkey drop this was the funniest gag they did.
Although the best underrated moment is Herb telling off the real families camera crew.

Tim Reid was always the voice of reason on the show. To see him goofy was hilarious. Brilliant actor comedian
There were no real weak links here. Gary Sandy played the straight man. Perhaps Bailey wasn't amazing--though she was rather gorgeous. Loni Anderson was fantastic as Jennifer Marlowe.
Bailey was amazing in at least one episode -- where she acted like a stoner to throw off the consultant Mama Carlson brought in.

Hugh Wilson the creator of WKRP in Cincinnati hated this episode so much that he didn't put his name on the end of the credits CBS pressured him into doing slapstick but it ended up being one of the funniest episodes

@@DaveNarn A couple episodes that don't seem to stay up are "Who is Gordon Sims?" and the little Arthur episode. Both have profound messages relating to the military. I suspect that is the reason they get pulled.
I can see why, especially when the video quality was this poor.

Back in the 80s, we had a local DJ who did this a few times around New Years. Station management got upset because when he started to get loaded, he would play nothing but ZZ Top. They tried one year to hide the ZZ Top albums and he responded by offering station swag to anyone who would bring him albums to the station.
I think this is my favorite WKRP moment. Then the turkey drop. I was 13 when WKRP first aired and saw this the first time and laughed so hard. It still cracks me up. It's just brilliant.

By far, one of the funniest, most clever television shows in history. When I was going to college studying radio broadcasting around 1990, my production instructor said that all the characters on this show do exist in real life. Exactly as you see them. It only reinforced my desire to work in radio.
Took a long time to find that part on RUclips. It showed up one time. Glad you brought it back. Venus drunk after one drink is hilarious.
The static reminds me of watching TV back in the day. We had one channel that we could just barely get but a couple of shows that I would watch through all the 'snow' as we called.

In 1981, the US Navy did have a Drink test exhibition at Whiting field, Florida. for Aviation Officer Candidates and instructors. I was there. It was very revealing. Soon after that the US Navy announced new and much more stringent rules against drugs and alcohol use. And that was effective because it Was enforced. I loved WKRP.
This actually reflects reality. In the early 1980's when MADD began making news, they would enlist celebrities to drive an off road course sober and then to repeat after having several drinks. Each time they were timed and graded. One celebrity was a Nascar driver. He improved substantially AFTER having the drinks. The results were squashed; only Playboy had the guts to publish them.
Interesting. However, how many drivers are NASCAR-trained? Not a statistically significant anything.

He did lots of movies and TV back then, was often on Barney Miller too - great guy.
That’s weird RUclips banned it. I’ve seen a threes company episode with Jack more drunk.
youTube never says exactly why a video gets a copyright restriction. It seems if a guest actor is detected during upload screening, the contract studio will issue a complaint or a total block.
I’ve tried to do a Quantum Leap series of videos with little success.
I did a mashup of Enterprise and Quantum Leap that turned out well.

Is this episode really not allowed on TV/RUclips anymore? I mean, I was 13 years old and thought this was the greatest thing ever on afternoon reruns.
It gets blocked on YT because of a copyright issue. I think because the parts of the show with guest stars are under different contracts than the regular crew :(

@DaveNarn , that's cool, i hadn't seen that before. I watched an interview with Hugh Wilson who said it was crazy amounts of money people wanted to clear the music. Is the bad video on the DVD? Is there a lot of that in the set?
