Great videos you inspired me a few years ago to start modeling and have not looked back since. Now going to start Amati stagecoach. With the help of your tutorials.. thank you.. from UK
Your ship’s boats look great. Virtually every model Bismarck I’ve seen has a different interpretation for the colour scheme for these; it seems to be an opportunity for modellers to add a bit of visual interest to an otherwise very flat colour scheme. How you’ve painted them works very well. As for the straps, I’ve seen them represented by specific PE parts and they do look good done that way, but using rigging thread in my opinion will just look like rigging thread. You could try using thin strips cut from masking tape and then painted which would have the profile of a flat strap and allow you to create more natural looking folds and bends than the thread would. Or omit them altogether as they are really not that noticeable.
Thank you. I was also thinking to replicate them by a 1mm Masking Tape but since there are Holes in the Brackets it would be the heck of a Job to connect ( or fabricate ) those Connections ( Hooks ) ! Tho I might will go for NO STRAPS . I too was wondering why the Kit didn't provide any better Solution for this tiny Problem because the Rigging Yarn is really NOT looking good on the otherwise highly detailed Model .
