I have been using the new tubes that are provided with the CPS for a couple weeks now and main what a amazing priming system.
Awesome video, thank you! I had no idea what the difference was between using my multistage vs. using a dedicated primer seater
This is something I'll probably never own but I did have the chance to use one and they're one of the sweetest priming systems on the market. I have hand primers and I prime on one of my 2 Dillon 550C so this would be just a luxury purchase for me if I was to ever get one but they really are cool. Great video as always keepem coming guys!!!
I just bouight the whole system.I also have the Dillon 550C and the Forster CO-AX that I Prime on. OIts hard to beat the Dillon.
I have Both double alpha systems the hand and the electric for the small primers as well as the CPS. What a great combo and make loading really fun and efficient. The craftsmanship is second to none. I think worth the cost all though was tough to swallow at first!
Derek and I Just got our CPS' @Northwest Guns and we Love them !
Been using the double alpha system with my CPS as well. It does make it so easy to fill 100 primers. Only thing that I do, which I did with the original tubes too, is to put some tape around the tube to make it less loose when it connects to the top of the shuttle. I have the digital Primewhere depth gauge. Being able to see primer depth on your cellphone (using the same angled stand I use for my Autotrickler) is fantastic and a big time saver vs my AccuracyOne gauge if you are anal about primer depth like me.
Looks Great .
Thank You.
$650 worth of satisfaction? Most people don't have that much into a press and dies
Good to know thanks guys, just ordered mine from Grafs for shipment to NZ. Kind of hoping it works with the Frankford Arsenal Vibra-Prime tool.
I love this system. The major benefit to me, aside from consistency, is that it saves a lot of hand fatigue. It is a great system, very expensive, but worth it to me for the ease of use.
$650... Think I'll have to stick with my Lee hand priming for a while, or maybe a cheaper alternative as small rifle primer pockets take quite a bit of force.
No No did you not hear what they said you need two of them!
Look for a bald eagle bench primer, they are way cheaper and offer repeatable primer seating. There down side is no primer feeder tubes.
While I have no doubt this is quite a nice tool for inserting primers but at that price I'll have to file it along with the Area 419 reloading press.
Great video as usual. Gavin I have an off topic question. What have you found to be the best/ most useful center to center spacing on the T-track? Thanks!!
Really want one!
That guy printing hard core or what😜
@Travis Fox show it off,
Do a segment/ series on y’all’s EDC! I know you reload and that’s the focus of the channel….. but reloading implies guns and shooting and murica🤘 so share and spread the knowledge. -GOD BLESS
I can not justify the money I will stick to my PMA hand primer
Hey there, you ever run into problems priming Peterson brass with magnum primers and 21st century’s hand primer? Some guys said the fed match magnum primers I’m using are a bit big for the pocket. I’m peeling the case head back when the shell holder holds the case and the primer plunger pushes the primer upward which gives me false readings for seating depths. Wondering if the above system will solve my issue?
What brand of shell holder are you using in the cps? I noticed its a black shell holder. Im looking for something other then lee.
The audio volume needs to be turned up.
I just received the CPS. What I was wondering if you had an opportunity to utilize the PrimeWhere depth Package in conjunction with the CPS?
Is it really worth the money honestly?
Exactly, the Fclass people's have been doing priming without this thing for years and are setting work records. its a nice to have. thats all.
Uh….no.
Good video
WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO RELEASE THE COMPARISON OF ALL THE PROGRESSIVE PRESSES LIKE YOU DID THE SINGKE STAGE? Really looking forward to that one
An expensive item that does not give high return. I'm pleased with the Lee hand held priming tool.
7.9 o. is that similar to 7.9 zero?
If you have access to lathe & mill (or drill press) then consider McJ Tools Reloading Primer Pick-Up Tubes. They are a fraction of the cost, fit the needed items for the Double Alpha primer handling machines.
Gavin,
I've been watching this channels since before Gavin's move to E.Wa. I love that Gavin has top of the line gear, BUT it is simply out of the reach of most reloaders. Some videos have $5k of more of custom gear on the bench, and that simply isn't feasible for most of us. And it has definitely effected my viewership of this channel. Same way, I'll pass on a Custom Alterra Rifle Video, for a Savage 12FV testing loads video. $6500 for a Rifle is simply out of most of our reach, especially in this day, and age.
I really wish that Gavin would come back to some of the more budget friendly gear videos. Example, top of my next video list, is the Lee Bench Prime, which I have had fantastic luck with, at $35. I would rather see a full video of making precision ammo or full reloads and testing with equipment that I want to go out and buy. $650 for a specialty primer seater system is just not a attention grabber, cause I will never be that top of the line competitor.
I run, Lee Bench Press, Presses from Lee RCBS, Hornady, Dillon, and produce 1/4" loads with local supplies from Cle Elum. Washington.
Well said. We need this channel to go back to its roots. The announcement of a stupid expensive paint booth will probably only make future videos worse.
He reviews what he wants PLUS what manufacturers pay him to review. Your point is well taken but surely you realize he’s going to prioritize vids for paid advertisers and they still take lots of time to compose and edit.
I bet he has a backlog of vids he needs to make bc his content is excellent.
He recently previewed the Frankford Arsenal X10, thats a great looking budget setup for multi stage press fans. Looking forward to seeing an unboased review even though im not in the market for one myself.
Agreed. I understand that there are shooters who can justify and afford this kind of expense for a primer seater but I think it's a pretty small minority. Even though I still subscribe to the channel I no longer watch all of the videos.
Love my 2 dedicated CPS's, awesome tools, no more sore hands...
Did you ever create your primer seating tool?
I got a comment were can you buy primers?
Oh yeah primers, I heard stories about those things.. like when they existed
Will this work for 12 gauge shotgun shells???
I would be totally into this but, I don’t want to chase down the shell holders. I wish it used the RCBS style like everything else I have does.
I’d want quantifiable results from a LR and on paper before considering laying out that kind of coin.
I don't think this can push a primer any better than so many other much cheaper tools as long as you are attentive to your seating depth.
@@proteus371 The difference between hand loading and reloading....hand loading you have time to do it right, reloading you have the tools to reduce the time.
Looks nice. But in order to use it you need primers! Else it's just a fancy paper weight and conversation piece. If I can't find primers by mid summer, there may be a fire sale on a whole bunch of top notch reloading gear, although if may be a little dusty. :-(( I'm not blaming you, Gavin. Just voicing my disgust and disappointment at the current situation. Thanks as always for the great videos. Shalom/gw
Too bad you can't buy one - "Due to high demand, we are not allowing any further back orders at this time."
That is exactly what I have been wanting! Yeah, $650 is steep for what I do but I will be buying it anyway...with my next bonus check. I just I want to have a very precise primer seating setup without me having to 'feel' for when it is seated at the correct depth.
buying this is like buying a pneumatic sledgehammer to drive some finish nails on some molding. I need an excuse for another tool.
F class products made a base plate and a dial indicator and counter system.
Can't hear. Besides no manufacture sells primers anymore
Scheels has gotten so few primers they removed the 2 primer display cabinets. Space vacated now has non-primer stuff. Apparently they don't plan on getting primers in the near future.
@@LuvBorderCollies yeah all the local sporting good stores have removed the primer display from the shelves. If enough boycott Vista Outdoors products will they learn anything
Primer depth difference of a thou or two would be completely negligible and subjective. Millions of hand loads have been shot and zero mention or thought of primer depth.
Primer depth a concern?
Highly unlikely!!
This video would be much cooler if I could afford to reload again...ya know...$250 for a box of primers now...
Not for $650!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm with RedRock. $650 for a primer tool!! My 21st Century hand primer tool at $135 does the job and I can adjust the depth. It's good enough for those anal retentive benchrest guys!! The same with the Zero press from Area419. I haven't won the lottery yet. I can think of 650 better things I could do with that money. Just being honest
fancy mousetrap with same result
Example of a fool and his money are soon parted.
And they have 2 of them on the bench just so there’s the ‘convenience’ of not having to switch between primer sizes. I can think of better places to sink $1300.
Don’t get me wrong. I like watching the rifle build videos. I’ll never have a lathe or milling machine but it’s informative to see how rifles are built. But then again he uses ultra expensive receivers ($1650 ish) barrels and other components. I get it, if you want the best it’s pricey. Just way out of my reach.
I was wondering the same thing.. If they are both .001" adjustable, what makes the CPS worth the $450 more than the 21st Century one?
@@Gareth96v1 do 1000 cases in an hour with the 21st Century tool and I think you'll know. This thing is made for volume ammo production. It may not seat a primer "better" than a cheaper tool but it will attain the same precision faster and with less user fatigue. That doesn't matter to the casual shooter, but it matters a lot to competitors who might shoot out 4+ barrels a year on the match circuit.
$650 FOR A PRIMER SEATER, MONEY BETTER SPENT ON AMMO OR COMPONENTS.
600$ is a joke. You can buy an entire 30 lb press made of aluminum and stainless steel from area 419 for 1200.
Can you all start speaking up a bit? I have the external speakers on full and can barely hear either of you.
