I would like to request another series idea.. I have a brand new 8# bottle of IMR 4955. Ya I know it's discontinued. It would be awesome to see videos comparing the old discontinued powders against the new powders. Showing the pro's & cons and the difference in them. Was going to use this on my 7mm Rem mag or my 260Rem but I haven't got to test it yet.

I have used n565 with great success in the following cartridges: 7 SS with a 180 berger. 7 prc and 7 rem mag with a 175 ablr, 180 eldm and 180 berger, 338 Norma with 250 sbd2. if a Handloader likes h1000, generally you can use the same charge with n565. If using r26 or n560, it will take 1.5 to 2.5 grains more of n565 for similar pressures. It's very stable and doesn't show pressure quickly. I personally like it better than h1000 and staball hd. N550, n560 and n565 are three of the best powders i have used. John and gavin create great content.

One of the best things about the powder shortage, and not having access to Hodgdon, was discovering Vihtavouri. The go to for 280ai was always H4831sc, but N560 is a step above. N165 in the 22CM is also fantastic yielding small groups and SD's.

I am thinking the n560 may be a little better with the lighter bullets but we will see. Last week I loaded 30 rounds with H1000 and wasn't overly happy with the group size. Hoping VV powder will be better.

I just resurrected a .223 WSSM with a new Douglas barrel. Data from Hodgdon in 2011 is showing extreme pressure issues with far less than max loads. N555 is in a similar burn rate to the slower Hodgdon numbers. Pressure is reduced, SD’s are in single digits and groups, although not much under moa, are definitely worth exploring further. 47.0 grains is launching a Nosler 55 grain Varmageddon at 3,991 fps! Smokin’!

I’ve used N565 for almost 2 years now in lots of cartridges. Specifically, 300 class cartridges, like 300PRC, 300 Win, even 300 Wby and all have shot phenomenally. Best group with a Christensen arms FFT 300 prc is less than .25” with the 212 Eld-X, running 2950 and with a 22” barrel. I would say it gives better velocity from my testing compared to H1000 but not as much as N570 of course. Meters well in my opinion, and has been much more consistent lot to lot compared to hodgon powders. Highly recommend the powder and hope others get to have some fun with it as well.
PS- it’s temp stable as well.

Hopefully there are other content creators on this platform will be asked to join in contribute with all sorts of things that Gavin hasn’t covered before or guys that specialise in a particular field with their craft. I’ve been using N565 in my 6.5 PRC for about 4 years now. The SD is single digit and ES is barely in the double digits. I have found that Vihtavuori’s reloading data is pretty conservative on max loads but it is very close to real world velocities. In the 6.5 PRC, N565 and H1000 have nearly the same max load volume, but N565 gave faster velocity.

During the Great powder shortage of 2020 to 2022, I got a hold of a keg of n568. I could not find 565 or 570. I have heard that they give fairly consistent velocities but from what I've seen, they yield very low velocity. You're showing a Max load of 565 for a 300 PRC shooting 215 bergers in a 26" barrel at about 2800fps. I'm getting 130 fps faster in my 300 win mag with h1000 shooting the same bullet. I know speed isn't everything, but that's a significant gain in velocity.
The n568 likewise yielded very low velocities for me.

I would object, very debatable whether ukraine is winning... On the contrary, it would appear to many that they are, thus far, losing, as they have been losing ground to russia this whole time, have they not?

@@BRENDANTHERED, thats a deliberately strategy. The Russians lose more soldiers and equipment as the attacking party - maybe even 5:1 or worse. And what do they achieve? Smaller cities and few square kilometers that are leveled to the ground. The Ukrainians are wearing them down slowly but surely.
