I'm actually not hugely surprised. You don't encounter turrets that often and turrets have relatively huge grace periods before they activate, so by going fast you can do quite a lot in front of them even without invincibility. And the liquid pools are generally functionally "bottomless pits" so being able to swim in them benefits little since they rarely have a way out of them.
In the years after Chell's escape, she's seen getting hit by a car and gets up with no injuries. Accident witness: Holy crap are you okay! How did you survive that?! Chell: I used a clipboard a while back, looks like it hasn't worn off yet.

Speedrunning history is always fascinating. The depth runners go into saving seconds, discovering new mechanics, and accidentally discovering others is amazing.
A shame that it took 5 years to figure out that the door behaved that way. Great video though now I know why people do all these weird things next to the door in runs.

It gets even crazier when you are messing with cheat codes to find bugs. I'll give an example of one I accidentally found: there's a entity dupe glitch you can do in the advance wars game "dark conflict" on the nds, you essentially run a code that lets the player take another turn, but if you put a unit on a ship during your turn, then run the code, your unit is cloned somehow.
The reason Players get dragged but not physics props is because the use a different physics system. The physics system of props, Vphysics (internally the Havok physics engine) is not the same as the engine controlling NPCs and the player, which are controlled by something called QPhysics, which is the physics system inherited from GoldSrc, which inherited it from Quake which it is based on (thats why is called QPhysics - Q for Quake). QPhysics “glues” the player to the platform so they move along with it, as you can see on any moving platform in the game - however this also applied to animations.
It's so wholesome how they named the strat after Betsruner. Even three years later, he wasn't forgotten.

The (not Valve) Metroid Dread invincibility glitch also involved doors. It's so weird how invincibility often has to do with door transitions

Least Portals is just normal portal 2 but you try to use to least amount of portals as possible. In vanilla p2, airboats aren't even usable.
