I am a French ARMY and for me Suga is an exceptional artist. Before him and RM, I didn't listen to rap. I have a very special affection for Suga because his music and his lyrics helped me get out of depression and even today I listen to him every day. For me, he is the definition of an artist: entering people's lives and hearts with his talent and art and making our lives more beautiful. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Same, they got me into rap! RM for his absolute poetry, suga for his talking about mental health. BTS got me out of depression too :D I'm a rock fan so hobi music, especially jack in the box is nice and gritty which I like too.
Suga/BTS talk a lot about societal issues, so this song really isn't to the haters, it's to capitalism, the systems put in place, toxic success culture and materialism
Honestly Yoongi changed my taste in music completely.. his mixtapes "Agust D" and "D-2", as well as his album "D-Day" are at the top of favorites list in all my music preferences.. and that says a lot, because I was always more of a Rock and Metal kinda girl and when asked what genres I disliked I'd always say rap.. not anymore and it has a lot to do with BTS, especially SUGA.. 💜 SInce you have probably watched "Amygdala" at this point in time, I'll recommend you two of my favorite songs by him, where you can here and feel his emotions throughout the song.. - The Last - First Love (both have no music video, so I recommend you to watch the lyric videos - the channel DIAL 6137 has pretty good translations)
6:33 in an interview for the release of d-2(which daechwita is off of) he said that the mad king is called "rage" so basically from what i understand he represents the ugly part of success, the greed, the anger within him(a concept he also explores in his song Shadow). This being the second part of the trilogy we can assume that the police officer also represents those things, so he's basically telling us that this conflict inside of him never dies. Sidenote but i think you can really feel that anger and greed for success in his first mixtape, Agust D, which i really recommend!
All the members in BTS are unique and multitalented but nothing so unique and so special to me than Suga. So unique among the members specially when it comes to do a solo project in the sense of his music is so deep, lyrics and its are so much beyond deep. When he is making an MV He likes to build a storyline and it's like youre watching a movie. The rapping and his flow ,visual , production and beats are incomparable🔥. He authentically writes,produces all his songs, composed, songwrites, making his own beats( best example HAEGEUM he did that all by himself), another thing why i like him and he is the most unique members among BTS is he produces music to other artists outside BTS , also I love his RAWNESS and so HONESTY and not filtering himself on his music.He doesnt care whether people like him or not, when haters hit him once he'll hit you 10x with no flowering words nor beating around the bush. I like his chill and quiet personality when he is not in the stage but has so much ability to shock and stunned people when he is in a stage performance.There so many things i love about him , these are just some of the manys.and yes Suga is my bias of all the biases i have in BTS, it will never change! Next -- AMYGDALA will be the last part of this trilogy. I highly recommend this D-Day album song, Snooze featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto (piano composition) and WooSung from The Rose!!!!! Ryuichi Sakamoto is an Oscar award winning composer and pianist, who was a role model of Suga!!!!! Sadly, he passed away the winter before the release of D-Day!!!! WooSung, lead singer of The Rose, a Korean rock band. They are excellent!!!!! There is no official mv; however, a fanmade mv by elisssa is beautifully fantastic. She made this mv by editing the earlier documentary of the making of the D-Day album, which you briefly see Suga with Ryuichi Sakamoto working on the Snooze composition!!!!!😢😢😢😢 This song addresses the haters, while at the same time Agust D tells his juniors that he will always be there supporting them!!!! This song resonates with so many Army, and especially those reactors of BTS discography (like yourselves)!!!! Suga is a genius!!!!

Don’t feel bad about not being able to read as fast as he can rap. He’s clocked 117 beats in 14 seconds. And Suga has a way of becoming, if not your bias, your bias wrecker. He’s been accused of being cold and aloof (which is mostly an act). Nobody calls Agust D cold and aloof. He a ferocious beast spitting fire! And I love BTS. Suga is my bias, so I’m ecstatic you guys enjoyed his music! I’m sure you’ll love RM as well. RM is a very talented rapper who started as a poet and fell in love with rap. He’s a lyrical genius that is very skilled at word play in both Korean and English.

They are all pretty amazing. The thing about BTS is that the song you have listened to most recently is your new favorite song and artist.. then you hear a new song by another member and suddenly that song and member is your new favorite. They do that to me all the time. Suga got me into loving rap, then I heard RM’s joke, and I was blown away, then JHope Arson… it just gets better and you keep finding new favorites…
If I have a bias it's Suga. His writing really lands for me, his polyrhythms and flow switches, he's brilliant in a way that really moves me. I love them all in different ways, anyway, but I feel you 😂

While the lyric talk about haegeum as a social and economic ideology, there are references to common perceptions of Korean idols and celebrities - they are NOT allowed ti smoke cigarettes in public, that's a big no-no, we're talking scandalous, especially for a female celebrity!!!! Notice both Suga's alter egos light up a cigarette and smoke!!!!! Defiantly telling the industry where to go!!!! 😂😂😂😂 Haegeum is also one of the instruments used in his song, Daechwita, fron his secind mixtape, D-2!!!!!! Actually the whole trilogy is Yoongi talking to and about himself he's being interspective, some of it is about experiances and others about worries he has. Not that he minds if people take the song other way as long as you can enjoy it your own way i'm sure he'll be happy with that. Also if he's you bias you should pros start calling him Yoongi (you'll need to get used to it).
Please react to J Hope's More, Arson and/or Neuron (much more recent than CNS). Very, very different from CNS (the 2022 MAMA performance of Arson and More was fantastic). Also I loved Amygdala MV also . . . very moving.

Can't wait for the Amygdala reaction from you guys! Like I mentioned before (misquoted, actually 😬) It starts in with "I don't know your name." To me, it speaks to the fact that this IS a 'trilogy' for one, but also different facets, manifestations, identifies, etc. of him as an artist. Like, "I am Min Yoongi, descendant of royalty in Joseon Dynasty." "I am Suga of BTS." and "I am Agust D, someone I became to survive some intense struggles." He sings "I don't know your name." to himself.
You need to see "Outro: Tear" live performance WITH subtitles (you might have to look for the one with subtitles). It was written by Suga during a time in 2018 when the members were considering breaking up. That song and performance will change your life.
The one with the scars is the one who was shot at the end of Daechwita, I think Speaking of Eminem, Suga in Agust D (the song) and in BTS' Cypher Pt.2 or 3 (I don't remember exactly) 100% outdid in my opinion 5:53 the way he smirked then chuckled on beat ???????

Agust d is amazing his concert was really incredible! He's got such good songs like "Shadow" and probably one of my all-time favorites is "Snooze" one of the funnest live videos with the rap line is "Ugh" online concert ONE Also. One of my favorite members of BTS V and one of the songs that he does that I really like is "Singularity" I actually prefer the live version it's so good. With BTS and their member solos, it’s like you need to watch 1 for the lyrics watch again for the cinematography all the details in their high production mv, then one last time as a whole piece. The only way to get the full effect of their lyricism and performance. Haha

Sope lovers!! (Sope= Suga & jhope) Your definitely not alone what so ever, lol. Jhope ultimate bias with Suga right behind. Their solo works are just so incredible. Suga is an amazing producer, and Jhope is the ♠Ace of Aces♠ Jhope was born to be on Stage!!! OT7 Always💜💜💜 But Sope is absolutely a personal favorite, especially when it comes to their solo projects. Jhope & Suga just continue to grab my attention again and again. They both just seem to keep hitting my ears, my heart, and my mind in different ways. ‘Haegeum’ has two meanings. It is a traditional Korean string instrument heard in the music, and is also the lifting of a ban or freeing something forbidden (for example smoking in his music video. Korean idols can get cancelled for things as innocuous as being seen smoking!). ‘Daechwita’ also used traditional music in its production. The drums and wind instruments in the music were daechwita music.
PLEASE READ HAS RECs hehehe...... Suga is my bias. He has been referred to like Eminehehe he...... well so has RM lol. Suga is the rawest of the BTS members. In his solo works. He doesn't care. He has no filter. He calls you out society, Greed, Injustices all that noboby else did in KPOP. He was inspired by lots of people but by one group from early 90s and thats EPIC HIGH the 1st KPOP band to do the calling outs and stuff. His earlier work was because he was angry. Lot of people critized Suga and RM because they both came from underground Rappers and were told they aren't rappers because they were greedy and turned idol for money. Suga said he did it because he was hungry. Suga was the poorest of the members barely had money to eat. But that didn't take away from his rapping. He writes produce and composes music for his solo work and BTS so does RM and JHope. (They all do but these 3 are the most and are credited on almost everything they have done) The last of the trilogy is a different vibe. But it's also the pain that he went through at a young age and what brought him to be his Altro ego AgustD. Its a trilogy but not necessarily in the order lol. You got to listen to AGUSTD by Agust D. His rap in it is so good and fast too. And if you like rap. All 3 rappers have different ways and sounds but are so so good. Do the live versions of Chypher Medley with RM Suga and JHope about their haters.. they are clapping back. Also Live Outro Tear with Rap line. Was about when they thought about disbanding. Suga wrote it and brought it to the group were RM and JHope added to it. Then there is UGH! And DDAENG. I also recommend RM WILDFLOWER it's about his inner self and how he feels. also their is Joke,, DO YOU. For JHope there is Arson and More. All the members of BTS has solo songs but if you are rapper then these are some of the best. I hope I gave you some info and also so good RECS. These are the more popular ones. The other members solo work are Phenomenal. So some good. Almost every single BTS Song or solo has a meaning behind it. BTS songs especially. My favorite is still Daechwita - but it is like choosing between love, peace or joy. All three songs are wonderful in their own way. Glad you're enjoying getting to know Min Yoongi. I like his song "D Day".
Jimin and SUGA for me, with RM, then J-Hope close behind, and of course Jin, Tae, JK there as well. Definitely do the 3rd in the trilogy as other commenters suggested, it’s intense. Jimin’s music is very different from SUGA’s yet I see them as the closest in the musical space. To make it clear, this is all my opinion. Music is personal, if you don’t agree, move on. Both of them are exceptional at expressing emotion in their music. I consider their music to be the most raw and real. That’s the kind of music I like. Jimin’s is more diverse than SUGA’s, but SUGA is extremely prolific and Jimin is not, but every one of Jimin’s is an amazing gem, distinct and unique from most other pop music out there and from each other - even his collabs. If you ignore some of SUGA’s collabs, his are for the most part personal story telling, and the ones written by Jimin are in the same vein - telling his personal story. Both of them tend to be more direct in their lyrics and maybe even in the composition (whereas RM and J-Hope’s lyrics are much more on the mental intellectual meta side). I also see similarities in the music they have written, it’s typically not ear wormy (SUGA does have some like that, particularly in the collab space) and usually very melodic and extremely pleasing to listen to. Something special and memorable but not annoying. I can listen to their music over and over and never get tired of it. For Jimin, I’d start with Set Me Free pt 2 and then do Like Crazy, both from his debut album, which is again a small number of songs and every one is unique and amazing and telling a personal story about his journey during COVID. I actually like Alone the best, but Jimin only has 2 MVs for hie debut and while he did both of these as live performances, none of the other songs off that album have an MV with them. If you are up for a few others, I’d do the Live Clip version of Letter (which he wrote for ARMY to share his feelings and comfort them after the infamous festa dinner where they said they were taking a break from group activities and focusing on solo work. Next would be Lie - which is one of the best composed pop (is it pop?) songs I’ve ever heard in my life - probably do the performance mix as that shouldn’t be blocked. Serendipity is also not to be missed. Well none of Jimin’s songs are to be missed actually. I’d wait on Closer Than This as it will mean much more after you have gone deeper into BTS. For SUGA, Ssnce most of the other commenters are all about the rap line and have suggested lots of great SUGA/AgustD music, I will not make any suggestions for him. And now I will stop rambling 😊

Honestly Yoongi changed my taste in music completely.. his mixtapes "Agust D" and "D-2", as well as his album "D-Day" are at the top of favorites list in all my music preferences.. and that says a lot, because I was always more of a Rock and Metal kinda girl and when asked what genres I disliked I'd always say rap.. not anymore and it has a lot to do with BTS, especially SUGA.. 💜

6:33 in an interview for the release of d-2(which daechwita is off of) he said that the mad king is called "rage" so basically from what i understand he represents the ugly part of success, the greed, the anger within him(a concept he also explores in his song Shadow). This being the second part of the trilogy we can assume that the police officer also represents those things, so he's basically telling us that this conflict inside of him never dies.
Sidenote but i think you can really feel that anger and greed for success in his first mixtape, Agust D, which i really recommend!
All the members in BTS are unique and multitalented but nothing so unique and so special to me than Suga.
So unique among the members specially when it comes to do a solo project in the sense of his music is so deep, lyrics and its are so much beyond deep. When he is making an MV
He likes to build a storyline and it's like youre watching a movie. The rapping and his flow ,visual ,
production and beats are
incomparable🔥. He authentically writes,produces all his songs, composed, songwrites, making his own beats( best example HAEGEUM he did that all by himself), another thing why i like him and he is the most unique members among BTS is he produces music to other artists outside BTS , also I love his RAWNESS and so HONESTY and not filtering himself on his music.He doesnt care whether people like him or not, when haters hit him once he'll hit you

I highly recommend this D-Day album song, Snooze featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto (piano composition) and WooSung from The Rose!!!!! Ryuichi Sakamoto is an Oscar award winning composer and pianist, who was a role model of Suga!!!!! Sadly, he passed away the winter before the release of D-Day!!!! WooSung, lead singer of The Rose, a Korean rock band. They are excellent!!!!! There is no official mv; however, a fanmade mv by elisssa is beautifully fantastic. She made this mv by editing the earlier documentary of the making of the D-Day album, which you briefly see Suga with Ryuichi Sakamoto working on the Snooze composition!!!!!😢😢😢😢

Don’t feel bad about not being able to read as fast as he can rap. He’s clocked 117 beats in 14 seconds. And Suga has a way of becoming, if not your bias, your bias wrecker. He’s been accused of being cold and aloof (which is mostly an act). Nobody calls Agust D cold and aloof. He a ferocious beast spitting fire! And I love BTS. I’m OT7, but that man’s passion and poetry alone won me. He’s the ONLY rapper to make 3M on one night’s arena performance in the US. Not the only ASIAN rapper; the only rapper. {{{mic drop}}}

They are all pretty amazing. The thing about BTS is that the song you have listened to most recently is your new favorite song and artist.. then you hear a new song by another member and suddenly that song and member is your new favorite. They do that to me all the time. Suga got me into loving rap, then I heard RM’s joke, and I was blown away, then JHope Arson… it just gets better and you keep finding new favorites…

Haegeum - yes, it's a musical instrument, specifically the one you hear in this song. However, the second meaning is the lifting of a ban to allow something forbidden!!!!! Both are relevant to this song. While the lyric talk about haegeum as a social and economic ideology, there are references to common perceptions of Korean idols and celebrities - they are NOT allowed ti smoke cigarettes in public, that's a big no-no, we're talking scandalous, especially for a female celebrity!!!! Notice both Suga's alter egos light up a cigarette and smoke!!!!! Defiantly telling the industry where to go!!!! 😂😂😂😂

Actually the whole trilogy is Yoongi talking to and about himself he's being interspective, some of it is about experiances and others about worries he has. Not that he minds if people take the song other way as long as you can enjoy it your own way i'm sure he'll be happy with that.

Can't wait for the Amygdala reaction from you guys! Like I mentioned before (misquoted, actually 😬) It starts in with "I don't know your name." To me, it speaks to the fact that this IS a 'trilogy' for one, but also different facets, manifestations, identifies, etc. of him as an artist. Like, "I am Min Yoongi, descendant of royalty in Joseon Dynasty." "I am Suga of BTS." and "I am Agust D, someone I became to survive some intense struggles." He sings "I don't know your name." to himself.
You need to see "Outro: Tear" live performance WITH subtitles (you might have to look for the one with subtitles). It was written by Suga during a time in 2018 when the members were considering breaking up. That song and performance will change your life.

‘Haegeum’ has two meanings. It is a traditional Korean string instrument heard in the music, and is also the lifting of a ban or freeing something forbidden (for example smoking in his music video. Korean idols can get cancelled for things as innocuous as being seen smoking!).
‘Daechwita’ also used traditional music in its production. The drums and wind instruments in the music were daechwita music.

Suga is my bias. He has been referred to like Eminehehe he...... well so has RM lol. Suga is the rawest of the BTS members. In his solo works. He doesn't care. He has no filter. He calls you out society, Greed, Injustices all that noboby else did in KPOP. He was inspired by lots of people but by one group from early 90s and thats EPIC HIGH the 1st KPOP band to do the calling outs and stuff. His earlier work was because he was angry. Lot of people critized Suga and RM because they both came from underground Rappers and were told they aren't rappers because they were greedy and turned idol for money. Suga said he did it because he was hungry. Suga was the poorest of the members barely had money to eat. But that didn't take away from his rapping. He writes produce and composes music for his solo work and BTS so does RM and JHope. (They all do but these 3 are the most and are credited on almost everything they have done) The last of the trilogy is a different vibe. But it's also the pain that he went through at a young age and what brought him to be his Altro ego AgustD. Its a trilogy but not necessarily in the order lol. You got to listen to AGUSTD by Agust D. His rap in it is so good and fast too. And if you like rap. All 3 rappers have different ways and sounds but are so so good. Do the live versions of Chypher Medley with RM Suga and JHope about their haters.. they are clapping back. Also Live Outro Tear with Rap line. Was about when they thought about disbanding. Suga wrote it and brought it to the group were RM and JHope added to it. Then there is UGH! And DDAENG. I also recommend RM WILDFLOWER it's about his inner self and how he feels. also their is Joke,, DO YOU. For JHope there is Arson and More.
All the members of BTS has solo songs but if you are rapper then these are some of the best. I hope I gave you some info and also so good RECS. These are the more popular ones. The other members solo work are Phenomenal. So some good. Almost every single BTS Song or solo has a meaning behind it. BTS songs especially. You would think its about love or a breakup but it's not necessarily. They gave deaper meaning. But the BTS members have always said it's up for interpretation. It's whatever you want it to be. Jimin and SUGA for me, with RM, then J-Hope close behind, and of course Jin, Tae, JK there as well. Definitely do the 3rd in the trilogy as other commenters suggested, it’s intense. Jimin’s music is very different from SUGA’s yet I see them as the closest in the musical space. To make it clear, this is all my opinion. Music is personal, if you don’t agree, move on. Both of them are exceptional at expressing emotion in their music. I consider their music to be the most raw and real. That’s the kind of music I like. Jimin’s is more diverse than SUGA’s, but SUGA is extremely prolific and Jimin is not, but every one of Jimin’s is an amazing gem, distinct and unique from most other pop music out there and from each other - even his collabs. If you ignore some of SUGA’s collabs, his are for the most part personal story telling, and the ones written by Jimin are in the same vein - telling his personal story. Both of them tend to be more direct in their lyrics and maybe even in the composition (whereas RM and J-Hope’s lyrics are much more on the mental intellectual meta side). I also see similarities in the music they have written, it’s typically not ear wormy (SUGA does have some like that, particularly in the collab space) and usually very melodic and extremely pleasing to listen to. Something special and memorable but not annoying. I can listen to their music over and over and never get tired of it. For Jimin, I’d start with Set Me Free pt 2 and then do Like Crazy, both from his debut album, which is again a small number of songs and every one is unique and amazing and telling a personal story about his journey during COVID. I actually like Alone the best, but Jimin only has 2 MVs for hie debut and while he did both of these as live performances, none of the other songs off that album have an MV with them. If you are up for a few others, I’d do the Live Clip version of Letter (which he wrote for ARMY to share his feelings and comfort them after the infamous festa dinner where they said they were taking a break from group activities and focusing on solo work. Next would be Lie - which is one of the best composed pop (is it pop?) songs I’ve ever heard in my life - probably do the performance mix as that shouldn’t be blocked. Serendipity is also not to be missed. Well none of Jimin’s songs are to be missed actually. I’d wait on Closer Than This as it will mean much more after you have gone deeper into BTS. For SUGA, Ssnce most of the other commenters are all about the rap line and have suggested lots of great SUGA/AgustD music, I will not make any suggestions for him. And now I will stop rambling 😊
