- In this video I will show you how to stop mascara from smudging under your eyes! This is a highly requested video about under eye smudging so I can't wait to show you how to stop mascara from smudging under your eyes!
In this tutorial I'll show you which type of products to use, how to apply your makeup and how to avoid the under eye smudging. It's a simple and easy to follow makeup tutorial!

For me, it doesn't matter whether I use waterproof or not. It transfers. By the end of the day, I have raccoon eyes. I'll give your techniques a try!

Personally, I’ve realised that my mascara smudges because of my smile. When I smile my eyes get smushed and that causes the mascara to rub off. Excited to try your tips!!

I have this bad habit of blinking hard bc of dry eyes which also has the same effect as what you described haha!

for me i wear a mask and whenever i breath while wearing it, it makes the mascara wet again and it smudges on my eyelids 🤦🏼♀️😭 idk if this even makes sense but yea
I know this vid is older but this is the only “internet makeup tip” that worked. I thought powder made my eyes creasy but if you just press it RIGHT around the eye it’s like a barrier. Thanks girl ❤

Thank you for the tip! I always thought it was good to powder before applying shadow but I’ve seen from others that they recommend leaving it tacky but I don’t think it works for me. I will try this tip tomorrow :)

Omg thank you so much! I've been wearing make up since I was a teenager and I've always had problems with smudging. No matter the make up brand, or much I put on, etc., nothing has ever worked. I also hate it because that means I'm constantly checking my makeup when out with friends. I've been doing this for a week and no smudging at all - thank you!!

I just sweat under my eyes...a lot. It doesn't matter what the weather is. Even if only have mascara on and no foundation it's still awful. I'm definitely going to try this.

This was very helpful thank you I recently started using a daytime moisturizer and I didn’t realize that that was what the issue was because I haven’t had any issue with my mascara in the past. Thank you.
Good tip! Keep the area dry, start with a dry area, it's moisture that causes the mascara to smudge, makes sense. Those ones that turn rubbery as they come off do work, but I find the "rubber" flakes get into my eyes. 🤣
I never used to get smudging and then I started using kiss falscara lashes on my top lashes. I even double them up for added volume. I have a feeling that when I blink my eyes throughout the day, the heaviness of my top lashes is touching the bottom lashes(which I apply mascara on, I don’t actually apply mascara to my top falscara lashes), and by the top lashes touching the bottom I believe it’s making my bottom lashes touch my under eye and causing smudging.
This is a fantastic tutorial! My favorite. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to try these techniques. I am still concerned about powder under my eyes, I do use a lot of wrinkle reducing products. Maybe it is the powder I’m using?

I’m a Makeup artist myself but I take much pleasure in watching how other artists work, and I often discover or see new or different techniques that I can try out. You can never stop learning.
Last but not least is my comment on the video. I actually encounter flaking under my eyes sometimes if the mascara isn’t a good formula, and that goes for both high end and drug store mascaras. But no matter what I do and no matter what mascara I’m using I always have smudging on my lids, and it’s due to my long lashes and the way my brow bone is, so I have be aware of that.

For me it's not mascara it is top lid eyeliner! Even if it's a liquidliner there is always transfer at the bottom, this just baffles me! I really love brown maskara. When black mascara get smudged it looks really dirty.
But brown mascara looks very natural and just look like i applied brown eyeshadow under my eyes when smudged.
I especially like applying brown mascar at my underlash
I learned a long time ago that you have to let the 'oopsy' mascara dry first. I usually use my eyebrow brush to brush it off.

Wow! Apparently over the last year and the at least 15 or more mascaras that I have tried and sent back really seems like it is what I’m doing. I have had every mascara that I have tried smudge. No matter the friends recommendations, the reviews, or whatever, NOTHING STAYS PUT. I have been so frustrated I am almost ready to just say forget it. For the last 2 1/2 years I have been working as a nurse mostly working midnight for first two years. So I have darkness under my eyes. I have for a long time used my facial moisturizer all over including under my eyes. Then I use Mary Kay concealer under and on the eyes. I used to use Thrive mascara for 6 months with no problems approx 1 1/2 ago when it started flaking. They sent me a new one and bug did the same thing. I have tried ones anywhere from e.l.f to tarte to better than sex to Lancôme, all waterproof formulas. All have smudged. Out of all of them I liked the Tarte lights camera action waterproof the best as far as the brush I liked best and truly waterproof. However like you said it is very hard to remove. I also tried that blinc tubing which was interesting to try, but I found it was not easy to remove and really irritated the skin around my eyes. Needless to say I am super frustrated. I just want look more awake. I don’t want to look like a walking corpse or older than I am. Help me please.

It shouldn’t do but you also shouldn’t spray to the point your lashes are wet

I’m seeing this one again and I realized it’s because I don’t use setting powder all the time. So my question is can you wear mascara without having to set you eyes all the time 🤔 I don’t get raccoon eyes all the time but it has happened when you least expect it

R u applying spf under your eyes during daytime when wearing mascara ?
If so, I have to try your tips then 😃 so annoying reapplying spf with makeup on . Any tips ?
I followed these steps AND bought a couple of mascaras recommended to try and see what happened (got NARS and HUDA. Also used the one I usually use ILIA). So disappointed to see it smudging still!! :( It was less than usual but still pretty noticeable. Could it be my foundation instead? I use a water based foundation.
I do have sensitive skin too-Nars made my eye swell up 🙁Any other good/hypoallergenic ones out there?
The water based foundation might be the problem however sounds like you have extremely sensitive eyes so it’s best to ask a dermatologist for the best mascaras for you
My problem is I wear an N95, and that is when I see the mascara smudges the most. Ugh
Also bought my first eyeshadow primer( BEFORE I saw this 😂) Sigma, what do you, or anyone think of that one?

Maybelline is a good mascara
My under eyes are always fine but my upper eyelid is always smudged and i wear false lashes.. i dont get it 🤓
