Robert Redford was his generation's "Brad Pitt," they even share a resemblance. I never noticed until this clip. Funny little every day observations...
A River Runs Through It. Directed by Redford with an early performance by Brad Pitt. Redford directed and had Pitt lit like a mini Redford. Great film. Check it out.
I Love very much Robert Redford. Love Out of Africa and this scene; The Way We Were; The Great Gatsby; The Candidate; All The President's Man; Indecent Proposal; This Property Is Condemned... and all the movies he starred in.
And the look at 2:43 with pulling the confetti ribbon off her shoulder. Genuine interest/desire. He was in love with her the night he and Barkley stayed the first night with her, he was just more subtle at showing it, and took his time to low-key court/woo her. then what Bror was where he had no shame in publicly displaying his cheating.
I was 19 when I saw this film and I have loved it and watched it ever since. Watching it now I can't help but look at Robert Redford (who seemed so old when I was 19) and think that Brad Pitt today looks so much like him here.
Brad Pitt is not a touch on Robert Redford and, furthermore, cannot act! I am actually embarrassed for him in a movie. Actually stopped watching movies he is in.
God they're beautiful. I love how they're like "Oh my god... everyone is kissing, does it mean we have to kiss then... ? Ok I guess so... doesn't matter (s)he's so gorgeous" :-)
Does anyone else remember Robert Redford and Meryl Streep in bed and Robert Redford says don't move. I think the sexiest thing a man can say to a woman in bed
Totally agree Lucas Davis! I was 19 when I saw this at the movies and I was with an older girlfriend at the time in the cinema. I had to struggle to hold back tears at the ending.
@@ivangomez123 Maybe, but he won't have RR's characteristics. Which is Bitter-Sweet honestly, because he has such a great personality. But he's got traits and manners that no one else has (Which is great honestly because he's his own man and I can't admire anyone else more for that.) that's gonna be heartbreaking and missed when he's gone.
She represents the change in Africa. He represents the wild Africa struggling to resist change. The relationship between the 2 could never survive together.

This looks unbelievably boring. 😶 And absolute lowest common denominator romance novelish. I vaguely remember being dragged to this as a kid by my mother. It felt like it was about 3 hours long. But looking at it as an adult, it honestly doesn't look any better.
It actually isn't, It's actually a really great movie. It is about 3 hours long but as a kid you probably didn't understand the meaning behind the whole thing. You shouldn't judge it just based on a clip, and what you thought of it as an ignorant child.

We are not owners we are just passing through. Very powerful statement.
Love this scene. Meryl and Robert what could be better.
Nothing.

I've just written exactly what you are thinking until I looked down and saw your post!!!
Redford was and is much more than that - director, film Institute founder, environmentalist, and still a reluctant heartthrob to many of us.
Umm … you mean “Brad Pitt is the modern-day Robert Redford” 😏 (😉).

The flight scene is unforgetably beautiful and the accompanying score ...
I Love very much Robert Redford.

same here…
Those looks before the kisses, when you are already in love, but don’t know it yet.

One of the most beautiful romantic epics ever made.... and I'm a dude!
You're an awesome dude !

Her husband cheated on her and gave her syphilis which had a horrific treatment back then. She was an incredible story teller.
Michael Kitchen's performance is outrageous
Smooth exit Baron. No one noticed.
I did!
We not owners here ,we just passing through ❤
shes so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She looks like she came out of a Klimt painting 😍
love this movie and this scene!
An English aristocrat who speaks with a perfect American accent. (UK)
She is danish
+Fernando Miranda I was referring to the character played by Robert Redford.
Grumpy Oldman
Yes,sorry
Yes, I thought it was lazy on Redford's part not to play the role with an English accent. Sidney Pollack should have insisted on it.
he did film a few scenes with an English accent but the director thought it would distract the audience so he told Robert to not do the accent
Redford...was Brad Pitt..before Brad was
Markie Green and when Brad gets older he will be like Robert Redford
@@ivangomez123 Robert aged better than Brad though.

Ok I’m sorry but their argument is quite valid, about changing Africa for the better or worse.
I love the film Robert Redford to

I am so sick of Meryl and the accents but the book is really good and try "West with the Night" for more British East Africa.
