Very inspirational for sure, you are talented Manuel.
What would u recommend a complete beginner to start with acoustic or electric?
Especially since I more focused on playing metal?
@@ejnova7215 electric
@@jasonday8334 why do u think so?
@@ejnova7215 experience I have 40 years on the guitar. I play a variety of music, but I love playing metal. I have multiple guitars. If you can afford to have both, that’s a good deal too. Having an acoustic to practice on is helpful, because you can practice anywhere. Electric guitars allow you a variety of tones. If you want to play metal you’ll want to use distortion. But even some metal guitarists can get away playing metal on clean tones.
My evolution is riff 1 and then twenty years later it's riff 2. 😂😂😂😂
You can see this guy going from Metallica to Dream Theater to Polyphia and Ichika territory...and then transcending into his own artist. Truly amazing.
He is better than ichika. Don't compare
@@CNBLURR You say when you literally compared them the sentence before...
You missed "djent" in there
Well said.
He's always been playing like that, way before Ichika.
This feels like a World's Biggest Shred Collab, because of how different every style is from each other
More like world smallest.
and without cuts man ..
Except world biggest shred collab is basically just mindless boring shredding with just a couple people really sticking out every time and making it worth it
@@davidandre3719 shredding can't be mindless because all shredders are always thinking about chord changes, which lick/scale to use and the melody
It's all the same tim henson copycat style after 2 mins
Two weeks and I still keep coming back to this video.
Yes, phenomenal indeed.
Please make some tutorials for your incredible techniques! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Check the link!
Broooooo its just downpickin
You blind?
@@bds_mguydasic9293 i reported you for actual desinformation.
@@bds_mguydasic9293 i smell a troll lol
Your right hand technique is so incredibly relaxed. Speed is cool but going as fast as you do without looking like you're cramping up is insanely impressive.
cramping proves ur technique is very bad...
@@rollbackmotte or your dehydrated, on drugs, not getting enough pussy or have a form of arthritis in which case go to the doctor because playing complex material like this will kill your hands. if you do have arthritis your guitar days are over. Happened to me after 35 years of playing. At the top of my game I suddenly had to find other passions. Now I fly drones and ride bikes. 🤷 not as many chics want to suck your balls flying drones. 😂😔
Whats your favourite part? Let me know
0:00-4:06 most def
Please put a tutorial for 2:48 - 3:06
Um.. yes
The moment you put the pick down was reinvigorating
1:38 - 2:16 giving me all the Rain vibes
It's interesting to see how man of these neo-soul virtuosos started out playing metal. There is definitely connection between the ability to play metal and some of the techniques and sounds we see in neo-soul
It's not Neo Soul...
@@justdannyp7 lmao yea, its maaappphhhhhhwoccckkkk
@@miinpajamas6680 🤡🤡
People start out playing hardcore, punk rock and metal because it's the easiest to start tp play... That's the only connection.
@@subs4794 Lmao metal is not easy to play
Discovered you through unprocessed, and I was already smitten by the quality of your productions. Can't help but find the evolution in your personal channel inspiring. Thanks for the good work.
When I was younger I used to associate distorted heavy sounds with speed and quickness, and acoustic softer sounds with calm and slowness. I always thought it was cool/badass to play in the style of the first half of this video. Then when you switched it up and continued to shred it, I realized that bringing the speed and technicality of rock/metal into a softer sound can be equally or even more badass! It just feels like the music you showcased in the second half was a more mature and blossomed sound/style, which might probably reflect on your own growth as a musician. Much respect to you and your work!
Oh man.. those chords you picked at 0:30 are just a straight eargasm
It reminds me so much of an oldschool band, I cannot dig the name though. Maybe you can help me out? :D
@@maycorpse7677 maybe Deftones? that's what it instantly reminded me of when I heard those shoegazey chords
@@candlewickheart reminds me of periphery. metalcore chorus type shit
Chords seem very early Linkin Park to me
This is unreal! I can barely believe that it is even possible to have such amazing technique, control and dynamics. You sir, are a magician.
Single tuning
Single guitar
Captured my music tastes and its variations.
Words cannot describe how much I love this.
This is just flat out incredible man lmao. Makes me want to quit, and practice all at the same time.
Great work, Manuel -- it's cool to see it all done in one take 🔥🔥🔥
1:39 fantastic . would love to hear the whole song
as a professional fake guitarist i can assure you this video is 100% real
It's like tool and a flamenco guitarist made a baby!
currently i'm on your "second stage" of guitar skill when playing without too much effort, and can play the 3º stage if i train like crazy e go to my limit.
Nothing more above those, but still i'm proud of myself and my improvement.
eu confio em você
nós confiamos em você
eles confiam em você!
todos confiamos em ti!
It’s great to strive for more but also acknowledging the improvement. Keep up the grind KING!
That change from your dirty tone to clean tone at 1:21 was the best tone flip I’ve ever heard in my life. I just keep going back to that because your clean tone is SOO gorgeous
start at 1:08 for best effect of this :D
So you went from metal to black metal, to modern metal, to prog metal (my fave), to djent, to sort of math rock mixed with trap vibes; really cool especially seing you adoperate that crazy right hand technique in metal
You seem to know all these names of styles but i dont know which is which, so whats the name of the very soft echoey pretty one?
Oh im silly and didnt think to grab the timestamp. Its the one that starts at 1:39, is there a name for that particular style? I love it so much
@@emerygrey1582 i don't think it's a particular style since it's some "clean" guitar playing some arpeggios, many generes can feature that like math rock, some metal and pop songs and probably many others...try exploring i guess
The djent to prog jump was extremely abrupt and so unexpected lmao
@@emerygrey1582 check out ichika nito for more stuff like that
With all the distractions available in the world, it's so impressive to see someone with such focus on their own improvement. Beautiful dedication.
Bro thank you for using your right pinkie on the pickup/pick guard as leverage. I got technique points off in guitar class in HS for doing that and I thought it was dumb as heck
Your technique was too clean so they tried to nerf you - I doubt it worked
Yep, I sometimes do that too, though I did practice a lot to try to be clean without needing it, I still find it helps with certain riffs/licks for stability.
been playing like that since day one without even realizing, just feels natural to me. is it really considered as a technical mistake?
@@yzekkai it's considered "wrong" but tons of incredible players (most notably petrucci) do this
you know it's about to blow your mind when you scroll down to the comments real quick and everyone has a favorite time stamp. So the phrasing at 0:53 really hits me with the power of silence, I'm always afraid of breaking a groove or having a gap in riffs, but you take that and make it flavorful.
and blow my mind it did indeed. love your style so much
OMG the chkchk djent is obnoxiously cool
So much talent!! You need your own signature ASAP!
To be fair the guitar he played in this video is basically his sig. when I see it, it reminds me of him
@@ihaveshitmyself4424 i feel the same way. But Ibanez needs to make this official! Maybe use the same model and use signature pickups
Isnt the ibanez headless his signature?
@@IForgorMyHW na. He was promoting the line.
Aha! I knew that you're from a metal background.
The fact you did this all in one tuning is unexplainably amazing.
This is the most underrated Manuel Gardner Fernandez fact, like um what if he starts playing in DADGAD I would lose my mind!! What kind of crazy arpeggios would this boy find
Alternate tunings are overrated. They're fun but people who can't navigate standard tuning competently yet use them as a crutch.
@@lukaskuipers7791plus anyone playing in standard gets an immediate w from peasants like me because I can actually learn their materials hahaha
I can't keep my eyes off that Ibanez! That's a gorgeous guitar!
1:23 if you’ve paid attention to his face expressions up until this very part, you’ll notice even his expression have suddenly sped up.
Fastest moving face muscles I’ve ever seen.. reminds me of when I watch RUclips vids in 1.5 or even 1.75 speed.. but he wouldn’t……….. he couldn’t be speeding up his playing…
Can i learn from your
Can you please teach me
And post tutorial videos also
this tapping from 2:16 just....... WOW...........
Some people say that pet owners look like their pets, but Manuel looks exactly like his guitar!
Bold of you to assume I can play anything more difficult than smoke on the water
2:16 bro. what in the world. This sounds SO GOOD. I need to learn to make this sound. 3:03 is sick too
How do you make that sound?
He's using chord shapes to change the harmonics position and then using the altered notes to make a harmonic melody.
@@benjaminvillarreal1499 i didnt even know you could do that. Insane !
They are tapped harmonics
🙌🏽🔥
Started off metal, ended with easy listening shred.
Beautiful... Just beautiful... I can picture the journey in my head. Very inspiring. ❤️
The yassification of Manuel Gardner fernandes
i still could'nt recover from the last minute XD
Manuel! I have been hearing you and Unprocessed for 3-4 years and I have to said that to me you're one of the best guitar players of all time. Your music express complexity and beauty but elegance at the same time. GOAT🐐
I absolutely love music that uses this kind of technique 1:46
If I'd choose one video on YT you can't skip a second of... then this is the one. Alluring from the start to finish.
So to achieve at least the right reverb from your gear - I'd have to dish out 2 full monthly pays.... Right - I think I'll just stick to DI and Toraverb and let the CPU fry. :P
I remember the times when the new Macbook Pro cost 2 monthly pays - now just to buy the cables, you need to think about eating that day....
0:30's tone made me shit myself thank you
amazing how you have both melodical/technical talent . Rock on from france!
This right hand is amazing man...
Manuelichika Chonson Ferhenson
My evolution would've started with smoke on the water and ended with the first riff you played.
got megaa periphery vibess
Very cool. Every one of us goes through changes and it is beautiful. Keep working you're doing good job.
ahh I know it's some kind of a meme but I still remember when people used to say that his playing was fake (sped-up) Good times hahaha
Lol bro
He is a master designer of tones.
fastastic stuff - your playing has definitely been an inspiration for me to add more rhythmic stuff into my playstyle. damn those harmonics sound perfect.
Why were parts sped up?
Exactly, I've watched a couple videos from him and some parts are clearly sped up (obvious with the guitar movements and his eyes blinking fast). Music editing is fine, but that whole "live playing" staging pretty much feels like a fraud.
*This video is simply a character being evolved from level 1-100 when we play a video game.* 🎮
while the game only has 80 levels
I would not describe even that first section as being "level 1" lol. That was already pretty damn good. His musical tastes just shifted over time.
No, more a level 70 to 6000
perfection
People love to hate on modern guitar players like him for not playing the same stuff everyone else plays, but forget this guy already started with the same roots as everyone else. But he knew it simply wasn’t enough to satisfy his desire to push guitar forward. And that desire is what’s keeping the guitar company alive. Guitar hasn’t progressed in a while until players like Tosin, him, and Tim came along. People will all admire him when he’s old
the picture in the background describes exactly what it is. great technik but......souless and faceless. doesent reach me. just overloaded skills.
Such an amazing evolution, but I need to know how long was it from a genuinely serious start to now? I’m late to this video, but simply looking at shred collage 4-5, your playing was one of my favorite moments and the progress I heard was insane.
How do I become a member on his channel? I see some videos that are available to members only, but I don’t see where to join.
timeline: Rock - Metalcore - Progressive Metal - Beautiful Things
My god that breakdown at 1:08
Whew... you have to live, eat and breathe guitar to reach this level of WTF?!? Talent level = Incomprehensible.
Your rhythmical accuracy and tone are insane, keep it up
Really cool and interesting man, thank you for sharing
searching a comment featuring the name Marty Friedman... only hardcore guitarists will get this.
Bravo 👏
So good
Ma boi went from chug chug chug to chwakata chwakata chwakata into blingy blingy bling and then ppprppapt ppprapprappt
In my 15 years of playing guitar relying on a pick to play guitar will constrict you from another level of playing guitar! I learned it the hard way!
WOW! Soo good!! And what a nice idea for a video! Wish you all the best! Grüße aus Frankfurt
May just be the best transition from the 80s to today. I loved this thank you truly.
Love it, insane grooves as always.
Where did you get your jumper? I really like it.
im un-subbing.
I can't watch you pull faces any more.
good luck.

A need a Manuel & Ichika collab song.
Already exists on ichika chanel
Where'd you get your sweater bro looks sick ! I've got 0 sweater and im willing to buy some.
Love ur transition from mainstream chug/prog/metal to the more melodious/intricate arrangements and techniques that can fit flawlessly over any modernist trap or trance stuff
So this is what it looks like when you spend countless hours learning instead of just playing.
I'm basically at the 0:00 through 0:40 level. Have been for about 15 years lol.
now you are the no1 emotional guitarlist !! from japan with archol drink
I strongly believe this will soon represent the evolution of ALL guitar playing. Guitar playing will (and should) no longer be the same and it's a great thing. It's just getting more and more exciting...!!
Nik Nocturnal was right about You, Tim Henson and Ichika Nito beeing core kids at heart hh
หนักแน่นมากครับจารย์
How on earth do you make the tapped harmonics so loud and present? Every time I try tap harmonics they are barely audible, and dont have the same harmonic color that yours have.
how can a human possibly be this amazing?!
I don't wanna know how many hours you invest every day to be this incredible :D (actually I do wanna know, pls tell me smthn about your practice routine :D)
should have stopped evolving around the 50 second mark.
Been learning a couple of your' songs and all I can say is my strumming arm is going through it right now 😂
OMG. Dude you’re out of this world 🔥🔥🔥
Been following you around 1:07
I thought this was going to be a bunch of past videos of you spliced together lol. I was like damn the first one is long
Tolles Video, das eine Gesichte erzählt. Die Masterclass beim Guitar Summit war echt ein Bringer. Danke dafür. Von wegen schlechter Lehrer!
Bros hand looks like a stop motion picture movie when he does the fast strummy thingo
bro even set down his pick majestically
Well, he is definitely not a new guitar player.....
Кто пришел от Фреда,посмотреть на это рубилово?))
When hes doing the hammer ons is he strumming the chord with his fucken pinky or am I tripping
The tapping is the most relaxing thing I have heard
Man.... his right hand moves so fast that it seems like is sped up....
