Good for him tho man, I’d kill to make a living doing what I love.

Your age isn't stopping you from owning or using one...what's the matter with you? Holdsworth used headless guitars in the 80s for fuck's sake! Lenny Breau and Chet Atkins figured out harp harmonics in the 70s... There's no age you have to be to use these guitars. At all.

I'm just happy to see progress (instead of the Gibson and Fender approach which just get you more of the same old same old), and these instruments fit a new generation. And yes - us old farts can buy them too. And I probably will.

Guitar experts found plenty of reasons, good and bad, to question the legitimacy of their instagram guitar shorts. If you aren't into the inta-musician scene you might be surprised to find it is a full blown phenomena to fake your musical skills on that platform. Manuel didn't respond to any of it just kept his head down and kept playing til he proved himself. That said, he did fake some things, and other people that are not as gullible tried to call that out. So it's not so simple

Was thrilled to know he was reputable + in a band to back up his legitimacy and end up one of my favourite musicians, but at the time it was so weird to think about why he would do that.

As a self professed metal musician, I can't deny the musical brilliance of bands like Unprocessed and Polyphia, they've pushed me to consider clean and percussive guitar in a completely different light. And that's the thing I'll always love about guitar, always new innovators and sounds to discover. I admit I'm not a headless instrument fan, but I deffo want to try both these axes out

First of all, I suppose you have to really know music theory so you can communicate with the instrument as easy as it can possibly get, and experiment with different techniques until you can come up with your own. So the key here is patience (Rome wasn't built in one day) and to not forget to have fun and enjoy the process =)
Relentless practice. You truly have live and breathe guitar daily for a pretty fair amount of time. The human mind will adapt and learn it. However, some people truly are just better and more gifted no matter the circumstance.

I'd say you would be able to order a Kiesel and get it faster than when you'll be able to get one of these guitars. There is already a waiting list several months long. I'm on it already. :| I'll probably order a Kiesel in the interim and it'll get here before that wait list is tapped.
I definitely wonder the same. I imagine the dead notes are still played with really light pressure on the strings like a harmonic. Obviously there's some processing going on but you know that Manuel has that touch and he uses it well for actual harmonics. Normally overly processed music doesn't appeal to me, but when there's actual amazing guitar playing underneath it's hard to dismiss it.

Its because the chord progressions have been used for ages. i-VI-IV in E minor with an occasional walk up III-IV-v-VI. The Metalcore Scene is built on this, especially in its heyday of the mid 2000s.--->The good ole tried and true ZERO-->EIGHT-->FIVE or ZERO--->EIGHT--->TEN fret bands. To be clear, I am not hating, just presenting some possible causes of your experience from a theoretical/harmonic motion standpoint.
Fair to say this is very subjective, the song did connect to my emotions but it's comprehensible that not everyone would feel the same about every song. It's like saying country songs don't usually make me feel anything but that's just because it doesn't connect to me, not necessarily because of the musician or the music, maybe, I just don't feel it.
Manuel's hands are so fast the frames of the video doesnt even catch it. It just looks like still images on a couple of frames. Not even a blur. The camera just doesnt even pick up on it. Thats insane.
I don't usually listen to such stuff, since I am more of a metal guy. But this is pretty good. Also, I have never liked headless guitard, but hail to Ibanez, these Quest models DO look tasty.

I lost all respect for Jared dines after he made that video saying that Manuel (and others) was editing the video & speeding it up... I know that was a long time ago but I think about it every time I watch with a Manuel's videos.

Jared was right though, he was editing the video to appear faster. Manuel addressed it in an insta post about how he'd try to do better in the future. However he still does it so he's learned very little because shortly after that Jared video went viral, Manuel got a bunch of semi endorsement deals and continues to do the same thing. It's old news but Jared and the rest of the lads were 100% justified in their position of calling out fake bullshit.
Jared was right about Manuel the whole time. Jared was wrong about Lucas Mann, and then just apologized to everyone just to move on because it was bad optics at that point.

im not entirely sure but im pretty sure they cant add a trem because of the tuning keys.
