The reason she's playing professionally in Spain is because at this time there was no WNBA... So American college players who were good enough to go pro went to play professionally overseas
Bruh the 90’s were loaded with some beautiful women. Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, Regina Hall, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Brandy, Tia & Tamera. I could go on, but that’s a whole lot more typing lol.
They were the inverse of each other's personalities. Where one lacked the other was strong. They also were both immature and discovering who they were and what life, love/relationships are about. Until Q's Dad cheated and he lost his sense of identity, they had similar interests and goals.
I wouldnt use the word dirt.... he just wanted her to always be there for him, even when she was going through her own issues. His own mother couldnt be there because she was had a bad marriage with his dad
@@brandonethereal1084He expected to much he wanted her to be there for him but he was never there for her it isn’t until the very end til we finally see him actually support her
I don’t think there would ever be a part 2 bc Sanaa Lathan and Omar Epps dated at that time and allegedly had a bad break up, he ended up marrying his ex (Keisha from Total) after they broke up.
This is such a cute film this is my childhood movie because of Kyla Pratt who played Monica. Plus the soundtrack in this movie was 🔥🔥🔥 and Boris Kodjoe was fioneeeee 😍
Great reaction video sis! As I got older I have despised this movie simply because the way Quincy treated Monica all because she couldn’t miss curfew. His dad’s actions definitely affected him too.
This is my favorite movie of all time 💯 I have the DVD & everything I love basketball & good movies so it’s a perfect fit… that Maxwell song during the dance scene that song is on repeat on my playlist 😂
Honestly what was cute about it?? They weren't even best friends. They weren't even friends . He didn't even act like he loved her on a platonic level let alone a girlfriend.
Thanks for the watch, It’s My favorite love movie of all time! But with that Tyra banks Cameo i think we need to recommend “Higher Learning” that’ll be a good reaction.
i used to watch love and basketball when i was a kid i remember seeing this is a great movie sanaa lathan and omar epps and i also like alfre woodard her acting has been on point
Great review as always. I don't know how you pick the movies for your reviews but a great hidden gem that know one really knows about was Baadassss 2003 written/directed/starring Mario Van Peeples playing and telling the story of how his father Melvin Van Peeples revolutionized cinema by basically inventing the "Blaxploitation" genre that financially saved the major motion studios that were going bankrupt long enough that mega-blockbusters like "Jaws" and "Star Wars" could come out and reinvent the way movie theaters were set up that paved the way for the 80s big budget renaissance that propelled the rise of VHS rentals and the home entertainment revolution.
I really feel like people who watch this movie and love it just get it, and most of us thankfully get the movie and love it and connect with it because it speaks to our own childhoods and the innocence of growing up and having these experiences as kids and getting older and experiencing young love, and I also think it speaks to us women who’ve grown up being tomboys. I can tell by this girl and her reactions (which I didn’t enjoy and found ridiculously harsh and lacked any real perspective or awareness) and some of these people with their ridiculous comments in the comments section just don’t get it, and are being unfairly harsh and over-the-top in their criticisms. People really need to lighten up! And yes, Q is clearly immature in some of these scenes, and I wasn’t feelin’ his attitude and would’ve gotten on him too for some of his treatment and behavior, but his character and responses and behavior was very realistic and true from growing up and things I’ve seen and experienced from boys and young guys especially if they’ve idolized their dads to then be disillusioned and disappointed by them. To me, their characters were so realistic and well-played and I understood them and their love story.
Dunno if i call the relationship toxic. Just the trials of young love where usually being young especially for guys they still not sure what they really want until they realize what they want in a relationship and who they want. Nice reaction MJ.
MJ BEST MOVIE EVER MADE. About the music, "yeah," the director matched the music, clothing & fashion style, slang, and culture, to the year of each quarter. Awesome reaction and dialogue (And this film has one of the best movie soundtracks of ALLTIME - If you get a chance, please check it out).
I love your channel so much MJ I’m glad I stumbled upon you and I just love you so much you like me when I watch movies even though I’ve seen a lot of them. It’s so cool seeing you react to them can’t wait to see what’s next.💜💜
It's a good film in terms of plot, character development and entertainment value. A lot of young relationships are toxic. So many young people carry burdens from childhood and haven't learned what healthy relationships look like yet. It's great that young adults now can recognize toxicity; wasn't so easy in previous generations.
Fun fact sanaa and Omar during the time they were dating, but sadly, they no longer with each other. I like movies that have like two people, which are couples that are in the movie, and in real life, it makes the scenes more impactful. Another crazy fun fact Sanaa wasn't supposed to get the part it was supposed to be a meta actress and it was supposed to be an actual NBA or should I say WNBA basketball star to make it more legit but instead the WNBA star I forgot who it was I believe she was able to cuz due to scheduling conflict and she will have to go through acting classes, so they brought Sanaa in it. The person who directed and I believe wrote the movie was from a woman and originally she didn't want Sanaa in the movie because she couldn't dribble to save her life but if no other actress was able to play in the movie that the director wanted then that she was going to choose her.
WNBA doesn’t pay them much anyway. Pay them like a regular job. A few star make a million only, but less than 100,000 for most of them than they play overseas after the season. 1 million to 5 million at least for each player should be paid to each player. I understand about ticket sells and all that need to be made but still
The reason she's playing professionally in Spain is because at this time there was no WNBA... So American college players who were good enough to go pro went to play professionally overseas
Sad thing is, they still get paid more overseas than the WNBA lol
Even today alot of them still play overseas too because of the pay
Overseas still pays great and they get treated like superstars over there,,,,
Yessir The WNBA debuted in April of 1996
@@kylehopkins1180 that's cool as hell

Halle Berry to
She went overseas because the WNBA wasn’t created yet
“i didn’t know nike made dresses” she should have gotten slapped 😭😭
🤣🤣🤣😅😅
This man Q so much of a demon he tore his ACL, and dropped 40 on Monica head because he knew he had to turn up on her ass😂
Somebody said Q only likes Monica when her hair is done and now I cant unsee it whenever I watch 😂
Haha I think it was Primms Hood Cinema
Omg u right lol
I mean the movie did end with her in a pony tail
I know what RUclips are you talking about who that is funny bro that's fucked lol
Same lol
He had no redeeming qualities and always treated her like dirt. I don’t see why she loved him so much tbh.
Always?

I was todays years old when I found out about this 😂
I guess he really like Q fr 😂
The "I Wanna Be Your Man" scene is my all time favorite romantic scene ever
The WNBA wasn’t a thing til 1996 so until the WNBA women who hooped went overseas
Omar Epps did his legend thing on this film 🎥
They pay wayyy more overseas than they do in the states...
They chemistry was good in this film because they were dating around this time ❤
What fr

Men and women are different but both deserve the same rights

Did you just learn this or something?

But with that Tyra banks Cameo i think we need to recommend “Higher Learning” that’ll be a good reaction.
Idk why a lot of people hate this movie but it’s a good film. People make it seem as if this movie is trash.
Really good movie !
It’s a dope movie but it’s hard to root for a couple when it feels like the woman is chasing the man.
