That’s not how you factory reset bambino AFAIK (from bambino manual) :
1. When machine is on standby mode
2. Press and hold the 1 Cup and 2 Cup buttons for 10 seconds to enter Factory reset mode.
3. The lights will flash 3 times to indicate thatall volumes have been reset.
4. Machine will then return to ready mode.

In my bambino instruction manual it says to press and hold the 1 cup and 2 cup buttons for 10 seconds for a factory reset.

Yeah same thing happened to me. Followed this and got stuck in cleaning. I ended up looking the manual from Breville and lo and behold the instructions are different. You probably have it resolved by now, but just for anyone else that got stuck, hold the 1 cup and 2 cup for 10 seconds. Don't let go of the buttons. The lights should start blinking (you can let go now) and be factory reset. It will cancel the cleaning mode too.

I was wondering about that. I just descaled mine and the steps looked the same. I did appreciate his instructions on how to set the pouring times though. "One cup" now actually fills the cup!
