Super helpful! Just got my Bambino and had a few questions that you answered! 👏🏼
Thank you. You are so calming....
Thank you so much Jake!
You didn’t mention that the cleaning tool has the round end removable, which covers a very fine spike that can be used to clear the hole in the dual wall filter baskets. If you bother to use them.
I could listen to this on repeat for going to sleep. Thank you so relaxing.
Thank you for the tips. These are helpful. Have you tried to replace the handle of these to one made of wood? Is it possible?
Super helpful! Thank you 👏🏼 I just got my Bambino Plus, very happy with it. Also your voice and energy is so calming wow
great video, thank you. Is this machine ese compatible?
Helpful video much appreciated. Just a question re the boiler is there any information about the composition of the boiler. Aluminium is a no for me so just checking.
Very helpful! Can the Bambino plus take the Swiss Filter?
Is there alot of plastic parts to this? Most importantly the pout where we attach the filter to?
how cool you are .... so calm 😊
After cleaning my coffee maker (according to directions), the steam and heat weren't working. I did a factory reset, and as soon as I turn off the machine and turn it on again, the reset doesn't work (steam light not on, little lights for heat and steam level aren't working) Is there a quick fix I'm missing? Thanks for your help!
Please do some goodnight stories audiobook 😂
i doubt we could hear him clearly ….he sounds like he has a banana in his mouth 😀
Came here to write “please partner with the calm app”
What are some other espresso machines like this one that have the automatic frother?
Hello just wondering do u thnk this is better than smeg? Thnks mate
Got the machine 2days ago, m using the low profile portafilter, no matter how I adjust, one side is flowing normally but the other coming up in drops, how do I fix that?
Hi Jack thanks for sharing this. How can I reset the timer as the timer is shorten than default one after I played around the machine.
The BBP instruction book says to:
1. Turn the machine off by pressing the 1 Cup and Steam buttons for 5 seconds.
2. Press and hold the 1 Cup and 2 Cup buttons for 5 seconds.
3. Press the 1 Cup or 2 Cup buttons and the light will flash 3 times.
How to program a pre-infusion? In my Bambino I does not work.
I only received 1 portafilter, do not have a spouted one. Should I get one and whatMs the difference with the profile
Is this the same with the Bambino Plus? Im so confused
One note about the plastic inside the portafilter: I think its purpose has less to do with guiding flow and more to do with preventing the portafilter from sapping heat away from the espresso as it flows though. Because these Breville machines can pull shots very quickly after being turned on, there's usually not enough time given to preheat the portafilter before use. When that's the case, the plastic minimizes contact between the hot liquid and cold metal. You can still get rid of the plastic piece, but preheating the portafilter by flushing the group head through it would be a good idea. Or use a bottomless portafilter.
I preheat my portafilter and mug in hot water while I'm grinding. I will also quickly purge the shower screen to get rid of old grounds. This also helps the portafilter go on very easily without the machine moving at all.
The preheating is great at keeping my espresso warm!
@@9385dee7 I flush my screen and scrub it with a cleaning tool after I make my coffee.
Hi Jack, very helpful tips, thanks. Purchased this machine and keep on getting sour shots without much cream. Wether I use Illy classic preground or 3rd wave fresh roast and ground at .5, problem remains. That spout portfilter, was that with the machine? Didn't get that and would like to remove plastic too! Can I order that from Sage/Breville?
Did you figure this out yet? I was thinking the same!
I need to know how to replace the heating coil. All other systems have been cleaned, dried but there is no heat.
I bought this machine and Eureka Mignon. I CANNOT avoid channeling. I use a Crema distributor and tamper, as well as a WDT tool. I've adjusted the Mignon to a grind size that takes about 26 seconds from start to finish pulling the shot, comes out about exactly 2 oz. Still channeling like crazy. Really frustrating.
I try to do a factory reset but I end up getting more espresso from the one cup than the two cup 1=55ml 2=35ml Thoughts?
I can't figure out how to get a consistent whirl or roll to the milk and frequently end up with a foamy, poorly incorporated pitcher of milk.
Hi Jake, my machine has stopped working and I don't know what to do.
Can you recommend a bottomless portafilter and non-pressurized basket to go with the Bambino Plus?
I searched for so long to find a bottomless portafilter and non pressurized basket, turns out breville doesn't have standard size portafilter which are 58mm. But Check this site they do sell both www.cremacoffeepro.com/products/54mm-bottomless-portafilter
Looks like the basket comes with the portafilter now.
My fuse blew on Bambio Plus and I can't figure out where to replace it on the machine!
Hi, my bambino shooting water out the steam wand no matter what button you press. I did all types of cleaning
Very good tips.cute to.
Do you know if it has an opv limited to 9 bar? Or it would pump at 15?
It’s 15 bar
I have a non pressurized basket and the coffee appears to extract much too quickly and loses the excellent crema found with the pressurized basket. My grinder is at its finest setting. Is there some way for me to improve my shots with the single wall basket? Do I need a different grinder or should I go back to the double-wall basket?
Either get a better grinder that can grind espresso quality such as the Baratza Sette or go back to using the pressurised portafilter
@@ThatsMyJazz Thanks for the specific grinder reference. My current grinder is about 15 years old and may be due for a replacement. In the meantime, I'm definitely getting the best results from the pressurized filter and will stick with that.
My portafilter was one piece but had a plastic inner guide. I removed it with difficulty. However when I tried different grinds in the dual wall two cup basket, the puck was left swimming in water and nowhere near dry. The times to complete the process seemed OK, and the coffee had good crema. Is this normal, or should all the water be passed through?
Same issue here…following
This could be a result of not enough coffee in the basket. Try adding up the dosage a bit and use the trimmer tool to get the right hight. In my (few) experiences, it's better to add a bit more coffee and tamp it well then have too little and bathe the puck. Then again, you'll have to experiment with grind.
How do you get the plastic piece out of the one that comes with the Bambino yours is a different portafilter so you never showed us how to take it out of the one that comes with the actual bambino?
Can I remove the plastic from the Breville Bambino portafilter? It has 2 slots for coffee to flow from. It doesn't have a screw on top like the single one. Will it work the same without the plastic? I really want to remove it. 😬
Yes, I have the same question, he is doing a review on the Bambino yet using the portafilter that comes with a Bambino plus and showed us how to remove the plastic piece from the Bambino plus portafilter not the Bambinos regular portafilter? I'm so confused! I would like to know how to remove the plastic from the Bambino portafilter that comes with it💜☕
Can I remove the plastic part in the low pressure portafilter as well?? I called the company and they couldn’t figure if it is BPA free!!
Wondering the same thing @reham did you take yours out?
I'm confused by the basket comment - mine only came with the portafilter that doesn't have the channels. Did I throw it away by accident? The wand cleaning tip is helpful - I ordered another one cause I assumed I threw it away
Did you buy a Bambino Plus or a Bambino Pro? The Plus only come with the low-profile portafilter and two pressurized baskets. The Pro adds a spouted portafilter with an unpressurized basket (in addition to the low-profile portafilter). The Pro sells for $50 more and SCG is the only company offering it. It’s actually sort of funny that they keep on talking about the Pro version because it’s been out of stock for months.🤔
I’ve used the double dose pressurized basket and cannot get 18g of coffee in it. It’s suppose to be able to hold 18-22. How is everyone doing it? The max I can get into the basket is 16.
I don't think the unit comes with the 2 portafilter options now if even did then . You will get the inner baskets but don't get your hopes up about the sprouted portafilter.
Confirmed. I only got the 1 portafilter :/
Two questions: Do you have any tips on how to remove the steam tip when it gets stuck and isnt able to open anymore? and second, how do you remove the plastic on the low profile portafilter ( the one without the spouts). Thanks!
You just turn it clock wise and it'll come off.
Use the steam wand cleaning tool it’s also for removing the steam tip not just for cleaning it
If it’s stuck like mine was, just use a wrench
Question for the experts...I have the Magnifica. It will pull single shot but not double. Pump sounds normal at start and quickly gets quiet with nothing coming out. I replaced pump with oem after 3 complete descaling procedures made no difference. Hot water and steam works good. Water comes out of espresso nozzles at startup and shutdown. I fully cleaned and lubricated the plunger assembly (even that plug and tiny hole below screen). No signs in tubing of scale buildup. I am at a loss. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Sounds like you ground too fine.
Hi. I am looking to by a coffee machine for home use doe approx $400. Any suggestions
My suggestion is that you keep on saving. Home espresso is expensive. If you buy a cheap machine it will not last and you will never really be happy. Add to that the grinder, which should cost around the same or more than the machine, plus you need water filtration, and you'll need a lot of water for all the flushing and cleaning. Realistically you need to spend around $1500 as a minimum for home espresso. If you buy something like a Breville you're wasting money and you'll have to buy another one later, so put that money towards a really good machine, not a disposable appliance.
So I only received one port a filter and you are showing two and I got a water filter with it and no way to use it? Doesn’t fit or there’s no filter holder?
Okay I found the answer to the first question (I have a plus, not a pro) but could not find any answers to the water filter question
hi. is this better than bambino? is it worth to paid more money(in my country there are a huge difference between prices) thank you so much.
I was searching about that recently before settling on the bambino plus, and really the advantage with this is mostly in the auto frother, and some quality of life features. You can change the milk temp and amount of texture. If the auto frother is not important to you, you could go with the regular bambino.
There is now a little metal ring inside the portafilter that prevents the plastic piece from coming out all the way. This piece needs to be removed, but WATCH YOUR FACE! It will come flying out if you're not careful
Jake voice sounds so soothing wkwkwk
Jake sounds like the kind of dude that sees an emergency and calls 911 while offering aide to the injured.
Jake is the type of low-energy guy that you have the check the pulse of while you're talking to them to make sure they're really alive.
fluid flow tip
-all fluids have a layer for retention the fluids shape
-To cure this: give a light tap before liquid leaves container
-Should need only one tap, per any fluid changing
Can you remove the plastic in the Low profile porta filter as well? Thanks
You can. I did it but wouldn’t recommend it. You get lots of splattering. I will by the Porta filter for barista pro. I really would like to have a nice duo Porta ☺️
I tried to do that, but stopped myself in middle way, it was getting more messier and removal isn't that straightforward as the pro one
Can you tell me why I shouldn't remove the plastic in the regular bambino?
The Bambino does NOT have a boiler, it has a termo-block heater.
So there is NOTHING to heat up the portafilter but running hot water through the portafilter.
The plastic insert reduces the contact of the hot coffee to the cold portafilter.
Can you recommend a grinder that is capable of giving you a non pressurized grind that has a form factor and size that complements the Bambino?
Eureka mignon specialita, works great and looks perfect with the bambino (chrome or black)
I have the breville smart grinder pro and the bambino pro and it’s a great combo
@@saragrimm913 great minds think alike. I have the same setup.
@@saragrimm913 Does the Brevill Smart Grinder Pro grind the beans fine enough to use in a non-pressurized basket, or are you using this grinder only with the pressurized baskets? Thanks for your reply.
@@SLVBULL I use the non pressurized baskets and haven’t had an issues. It takes a little time to get it dialed in.
Can I please ask what grind is best for this machine.
Espresso. The finest grind
It really depends of the coffee, medium fine to extra fine will do..
@@polohaodha not true. I can't go anywhere near the finest grind setting on my Sette 30 without choking the machine
Thank you very much for showing how to get that plastic piece out
Do NOT do it like he did. If the screwdriver slips, it will go INTO your hand, and you will have a BLOODY mess.
He did not take shop in middle school, where they teach shop safety.
Will the bambino pro ever get re-stocked , been waiting for 3 months 😫
Just get the plus and buy the extra portafilter it comes with separately? It's on their website.
I cannot get the cleaning cycle to work. I follow the steps, but it does not complete the process or let me revert back to default brewing times afterward.
Hi, have you tried pressing and holding the one and two cup buttons to enter the cleaning cycle WHILST they are still flashing, i.e. don’t power the machine off and then press and hold both the one and two cup buttons (as it seems to suggest in the manual). This worked for me, good luck.
@@clivebrooker1 Thanks for your quick and helpful response. I have learned that the instruction manual is not up-to-date. A neighbor who has a good sense for how things work was able to show me how to do it. Your hints were perfect. Thanks again.
How do you use the cleaning tablets that come with the machine?
The instruction manual details it.
Single basket with the rubber cap, 1 tablet inside, and let the machine backflush.
If your are talking about descaling it does not come with descaler. Buy some urex stuff.
@@9385dee7 I would add that the instructions are misleading (on mine anyways). It indicates you need a full water tank and a 2lt container under but the tablet clean uses hardly any water. I thought it was broken but supposedly that is how it works and they didnt update manual
@@Benry1984 there's two cleaning cycles, one uses more water than the other.
@@9385dee7 I agree. descaling and flush, but the flush instructions say to have a 2lt container and ensure the watertank is full, but it only spits out about 50ml. Descale uses a lot more
I find my tablets never dissolve completely when I do a back wash.(flush)
Nice work man
I would think the question is where can i buy a bambino pro.
Seattle Coffee Gear. They only review products they sell.
@@maryl.7226 sold out.
@@einstini15 Oh, that's too bad, but good to know. I looked at it in the past and was interested. Have you asked them if they intend to restock this set-up?
@@maryl.7226 Can't remember but its been out of stock for a long time, i am not holding my breath.
I had to order mine directly from Breville as it’s sold out everywhere. Just got mine on Monday. Took about 1.5 - 2 weeks.
I'm sorry for asking but where did you get the name Bambino "PRO"? As far as I know and have done some research, the Bambino models are only two. Bambino (the base model) and Bambino Plus. A Bambino Plus model is exactly the one you've got there. So again, the PRO name is only used in the Barista model,
You meant Bambino Plus. You could also get a bottomless portafilter:)
I thought so too initially; however, on their (Seattle Coffee Group's) website they sell: regular, plus, and "pro". The "pro" is just the plus with this extra non-pressurized portafilter. Just in case anyone else sees this to clear up confusion.
You mean the bambino *plus* right?
No mistake
Pro or plus?
1:18 hello where can you buy this alternative portafilter 54mm ?
With Sage/Breville just have a look for accessory with the Dual Temp it uses exactly this Portafilter and you can get it for 55€ here in Europe...
www.breville.com/us/en/parts-accessories/parts/sp0027237.html
I had basket like that once. I used it for a while before I took it out. Underneath was a lot of black gunk.
I have the breville BE and i just took it out yesterday. There was some water that had collected and could have easily caused issues.
Why would a company obsessed with design make such a flaw in design?
@@supercooled They don't expect the machine to last long enough to matter. They hope you put it in the cupboard and forget about it, or it will break down immediately after the warranty (mine only made it 7 months).
@@bigglyguy8429 You know that is ridiculous. I'm sure your issue isn't unique but as a whole their company is doing something right to thrive.
I have a Breville Air Fryer Smart Oven and it's been used sparingly and in fact, it's functioned more as a regular toaster oven than an air fryer and in hindsight, it's more of a showpiece than something I go to depend on as a workhorse. Prior to this, I had a Cuisinart toaster oven that performed dutifully and at a fraction of the cost. That said, I'm not going to fault Breville for having a cracking marketing team behind their brand. I tend to think of them as Apple. You can get something substantially cheaper and have it perform just as well but sacrifices have to be made.
At any rate, I decided not to buy the Bambino Express or Plus as a $5 Ikea milk frother seems to produce as good a cup of cappuccino as well.
Do a latte art lesson with this machine please
Yes!!!!
You really need to manually steam the milk if you want latte art.
@@SLVBULL but at 5 in the morning does latte art really matter? Lol
WTF U HAD A STEAM WAND CLEANER WTF IM SO BAFFLED IVE BEEN MAKING SHOTS EVERY MORNING FOR 2 MONTHS AND DIDN'T KNOW THIS DEAR LORD
please do not use the screw driver with your hand cupping the portafilter! oh my….one wrong move you will have a very bloody and painful wound 😭😭😭😳
He obviously did not take shop in middle school.
Do NOT do what he did, or you risk putting the screwdriver INTO your hand, and making a BLOODY mess.
8 out 10 times I wouldn’t use the auto steam function because of the overspray. It is annoyingly messy.
Better PRO TIP - I advise NO ONE to remove the plastic as this helps distribute the coffee cleaner and delivers a better crema. Removing the plastic makes the coffee spit out inconsistently, and additionally I have tried different 54mm portafilters with a double spout on this machine and the coffee spits out in a mess. I don't know why this is considered a 'pro tip' when it really isn't! I have this machine for over a year and have created really good coffee and latte art using the included aluminium portafilter. Since I have removed the plastic, the coffee not only gives a terrible crema result but the taste is somewhat horrible and sour. So NO, this tip of removing the plastic should NOT BE ADVISED and is there for this reason why they have it for this machine in the first place.
You have to leave the plastic baffle in the portafilter, the Bambino WILL NOT HEAT the portafilter. The plastic baffle is there to prevent the shot from hitting a cold portafilter. Yes, virtually every other espresso machine will heat the PF, but the Bambino is not desigend to do so. Please don't give people bad advice man.
On the product page they say to run 1-2 shots without coffee to run hot water through it and heat up the portafilter.
Here's a great tip for the Breville Bambino - save your money and get a better machine. Mine only lasted 7 months, despite me living in a soft water area and religiously following the cleaning prompts. When people tell you these are appliance-grade and not real machines, they're right. Keep saving and go for something better.
Bambino is the shit.
