Becoming a full lineup of tween comedies really killed the channel for me. Disney is better as an animation studio. Though i did enjoy the "disney channel original movies" mixed in back in the day
Now that I think about it, does she know what a purebred dog means? Cause if she was like me when I was younger & thought purebred meant "dogs from rich families" I would've LOVED to have seen her reaction to finding out being mixed blood meant she dodged a genetic bullet
Oh man this show was fun, they were quite good at coming up with pretty original plot lines, I still remember a whole bunch of the plots and jokes because this show stood out as really unique and fun
True. I thought the show overall was pretty memorable and watched it all the time, even those old flash games were fun lol. Something about their dynamic just worked for me. Unlike some, they did a good job of wrapping up the series imo.
I will always remember the episodes with "a watched pot never boils", and the one where Mr. Whiskers lost Brandy's scarf. I always felt bad for the boar Mr. Whiskers road into a pit of lava. RIP buddy!
The one episode were Mr. Whiskers teeth were so clean he ran around the night like a giant spotlight, attracting every predator for miles. Or the one were he found a gameboy and became obsessed, and he and Brandy had to run out of an active volcano as if it were a video game. Fuck, haven't watched the show for probably 15 years and I still remember so many plots.
I loved this show, unfortunately the only times I knew it was on were either late at night and super early in the morning. Making young me have to choose between this show and being well rested for school.
Any show where the premise was "will the main characters make it back home?" always compelled me to watch as a kid. Like I remember thinking the show was alright but I was watching because I thought oh maybe they'll make it back today.

This and Dave the Barbarian were my favorite Disney shows and no kid believed they existed in elementary school because they only came on at like 1-2 in the morning when most kids were asleep lmao.

Late night start at like around 11:30 It was always the replacements, brandy and mr whiskers, the emperors new school, Dave the barbarian, then American dragon Jake long, and then like late late at night they played reruns of the buzz light year cartoon. I remember Brandy & Mr. Whiskers more for the unique character designs than the actual show. I didn't find the series itself amazing, but it did have its moments. It's surprising it never got a Disney+ release.
It isn't surprising considering Brandy & Mr. Whiskers wasn't successful enough. Not saying it was bad since it would be the Poochini of Disney, not bad but not successful nor memorable enough either.

In mexico this show would just fill the holes and play at random times, i got tired of it after a while, mostly repeats, they abused it, i remember it playing after and before the zapping zone, a "live action" segment where they played the newest live action original disney shows like hannah montana, the suit life, wizards of waverly place etc, 1 of each at a time for a total of 3 episodes and between episodes people could call and play games to win prices and interact with the hosts, it was pretty sick.

I watched this show growing up. The only thing I really remember (and in fact think about maybe a few times a year) is an earlier episode where Mr. Whiskers was trying very hard to resist the urge to use the toilet, but was surrounded by things that reminded him of such, like a big waterfall. I don't remember the context at all, but the scene ended with Brandy walking off, Mr. Whiskers asking her a question, and she responds with "oui oui" (sounds like "wee wee") a beat and she adds "That's French for 'yes'". And she leaves him looking even more stressed lol.
1. It's interesting how this is the first show where Kaley Cuoco and Charlie Adler (who voiced the title characters) worked together. They would work together two more times: Loonatics Unleashed (as Weather Vane and Optimatus) and Harley Quinn 2019 (with Kaley as Harley and Charlie as both the voice director and her father). 2. While the show is created by Russell Marcus, two of the show's executive producers are the writing duo Bill Motz & Bob Roth. They worked on other shows from Disney Television Animation, such as Darkwing Duck, the Aladdin and Hercules shows, Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command, Kim Possible, and (albeit for only 2 episodes in season 2) Phineas And Ferb. They would later co-create Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures and be creators of The Ghost And Molly McGee.
I remember this show because it caused me my first existential crisis when in one episode it was Brandy’s birthday and Mr Whiskers made a joke that “she was one year closer to death”, which made me realise I was going to die eventually too and that each passing year brings death closer. This stupid show made me have a panic attack in pre-school
Well , as a Brazilian ( that lives very far from the amazon) I really enjoyed this show . It was a good time on my life and this show really made me feel good .

My strongest memory of Brandy and Mr. Whiskers was that this was the show I watched right after seeing the DVD version of the 90's IT miniseries. I wanted to prove how brave I was so I watched the movie with my older sister and then afterwards needed cartoons to make me feel better. Brandy and Mr. Whiskers was the first cartoon that showed up while I was changing channels.
I watched this so much back in the day. I even remember my mum sometimes playfully calling my brother Mr Whiskers because he was mischievous and we both watched it a lot.
I do very much remember brandy and mr whiskers. Admittedly when I was young brandy, awakened something within me and I know some of yall had the same experience.
Fun Fact: Brandy is voiced by Kaley Cuoco who also played Penny from "The Big Bang Theory" and Mr. Whiskers was voiced by Charlie Adler who did the voice of Mr. & Mrs. Big Head from "Rocko's Modern Life" and SO MANY OTHER CARTOON CHARACTERS.
Kaley Couco also recently did the voice of Harley Quinn in the Harley Quinn web series and I best know Charlie Adler as Snivley Robotnik from Sonic Satam
For some reason I remember this show ending with a Christmas Special. Brandy and Whiskers went on Santa's sleigh and they stopped at Brandy's mansion for her to find out her owners still missed her and wanted her back, but for some reason Brandy decided to go back to the Amazon with Whiskers instead. She also had the chance to go back with her friend from Georgia in another episode that she also turned down or had a disagreement with. Been, like, 15 or 16 years since I've seen this show, though.
This is one of those show that I just BARELY remember. It was sort of a personal piece of lost media for me for a long time. It took me around 10 years to find out what the show was called, since I only remembered one episode (the one with the lizard that eats people). Back in 2020 I decided to re-watch that episode, and it was strange seeing it again, after occupying the remote corners of my memory for 14 years. Edit: Apparently there are MULTIPLE lizards that eat people in this series. The episode I'm referring to is the one briefly shown @3:44

The only thing I remember about this show is the episode where Brandy befriends a fruit bat who Mr Whiskers insists is actually a vampire bat and tries to kill him by plunging a steak into his heart. That's not a typo. It later turns out he actually IS a vampire bat and just claimed he was a fruit bat so he wouldn't be stereotyped
This is one of those shows that I remember seeing on tv but never sat down to watch. As a kid, I remember thinking the dog looked a little too much like a human and the rabbit giving me Ren & Stimpy vibes. But now that I’ve actually watched it, I think it’s pretty good.
I remember this being on TV all the time when I was a kid. When Penny talks in Big Bang Theory I still imagine sometime that the words are coming out of Brandy's mouth. Too bad we never got to see what happened to them if they got out of the jungle.
I loved this show so much. I remember the Christmas special where Brandy and Mr. Whiskers delivered presents around the world and they actually did make it to Brandy’s house. I can’t remember what exactly happened but she ended up not staying home and they went back to the rain forest.

I remember sneaking into the kitchen late at night, trying to be quite as hell just to make me a bowl of cereal at 4 clock in the morning just to brandy and mr. Whiskers. Oh my gosh the video Disney channel was the bomb and looking back was so iconic. 😄 Chilleeee the memories I have about this show to bittersweet! Thank Jordan for a throwback throwback 💕
I really liked the show and the comedy is top notch. Im glad Disney didn't forget this show because a week ago, they just re-released the first episode on youtube for its 20th anniversary and I've been revisiting the show since. Man its as heartwarming and hilarious as I remembered as a kid and it did in fact teach me some valuable lessons. I love the water and oil friendship between Brandy and Whiskers. It's a shame there's no conclusive episode.I would imagine there'd be a last episode where Whiskers would help Brandy return to Florida but then she discovers her owners replaced her so she returns to the amazon with him to live at the jungle as her forever home. At least we get to enjoy the eps and youtube and once again Im glad Disney are honouring the show's memory.

I really liked the show it was so nostalgic/underrated it made constantly laugh and the animation was good. Sadly I wish the show had a series finale were they got off the island.
That show had SO many weird episodes. The episode where Mr. Whiskers got into a fight with his brain (yes, his brain was a separate character. Show was hella weird), so his brain abandoned him and Brandy had to try and orchestrate a make-up between them. The episode where Brandy stole a pair of shoes because they were the latest trend and she couldn't afford them, but then felt so guilty about it that she had to sneak into the mall to try and return them. The episode where Brandy was trying to break into the crashed space ship of a cosmonaut monkey because there was an "emergency rescue button" inside, but the monkey didn't want to use it cause he thought he'd get sent back to space (and when she finally got her hands on the button, it just opened up a hatch that released a single peanut). And one of my personal favorites; the episode where Mr. Whiskers convinces Brandy to be his partner in a series of tag-team wrestling matches, and despite Brandy not wanting to fight cause it doesn't fall into her typical girly-girl image/habits (she ends up wearing a wrestling mask and using a fake voice to pretend she's some random wrestling dude instead), she completely dominates when she actually gets tagged in cause she got a lot of practice growing up fighting for kibble amongst her littermates, and eventually takes off her wrestling mask to reveal who she is after hearing some jerk kids telling a girl wrestling fan that girls can't do certain things, like wrestling.
This was a banned topic in our church youth group. The youth pastor thought it was ungodly to escape prison and believed it was influencing kids in the wrong way.
This is something I watched as a kid with my older sister, I was like, Idk, 4 years old maybe? I literally don't remember anything from it aside from how it looked like. I remember getting excited every time my sister said she'd watch it with me. I assume those were the good times, tho I barely remember anything from back then.

I loved the show, more for the worldbuilding and characters. Personally, my Brandy has a Keyblade and is searching for Whiskers with the help of Max Goof and Oswald the Rabbit on the RLS Legacy, but to each their own.

You took me right back to 2005-2006 with that Gameboy advance Disney show collection bit which I actually had and jokes aside it was actually really cool at the time cause things like smart phones for example weren't really a thing quite yet so to be able to watch TV when we were traveling I thought was pretty rad as a kid.

Such a dope show. Loved it growing up, especially when I would randomly wake up in the middle of the night and it was playing on Disney Channel, and still loved it a few months ago when I binged it. Brandy and Mr. Whiskers was one of my favorite Disney Channel shows growing up next to American Dragon Jake Long, Lilo and Stitch, Kim Possible, House of Mouse, Proud Family, Buzz on Maggie, and The Replacements. I always wished that they would make a toy line of the show because I wanted merch (mainly plushies and/or figures) of my favorite character, Brandy Harrington. But now and then I have quoted a lot of Mr. Whisker's lines. Like I still used the Cupid with a huge mallet swinging scenario when I first encounter a fictional/celebrity crush. i've been binge-watching this channel all week reliving nostalgia, so waking up to a new video's the best!! This show i definitely liked more than my friends did, but the games were so fun, i would play alllll day on my grandad's old computer
I've been looking forward to this episode!!! I didn't personally enjoy this show as a kid nearly as much as other cartoons, but yet ... I watched so much of it. Looking forward to hearing your take and reliving some nostalgic memories with this one :-) Quick edit just to say how much I adore the animation/art style as an adult. It's incredibly charming and they showcase some really unique rainforest animals that don't get a lot of love. The tapirs are great! I will happily give it a rewatch just for that alone. I remember this show because it caused me my first existential crisis when in one episode it was Brandy’s birthday and Mr Whiskers made a joke that “she was one year closer to death”, which made me realise I was going to die eventually too and that each passing year brings death closer. This stupid show made me have a panic attack in pre-school

My strongest memory of Brandy and Mr. Whiskers was that this was the show I watched right after seeing the DVD version of the 90's IT miniseries. I wanted to prove how brave I was so I watched the movie with my older sister and then afterwards needed cartoons to make me feel better. Brandy and Mr. Whiskers was the first cartoon that showed up while I was changing channels.

For some reason I remember this show ending with a Christmas Special. Brandy and Whiskers went on Santa's sleigh and they stopped at Brandy's mansion for her to find out her owners still missed her and wanted her back, but for some reason Brandy decided to go back to the Amazon with Whiskers instead. She also had the chance to go back with her friend from Georgia in another episode that she also turned down or had a disagreement with. Been, like, 15 or 16 years since I've seen this show, though.

This is one of those show that I just BARELY remember. It was sort of a personal piece of lost media for me for a long time. It took me around 10 years to find out what the show was called, since I only remembered one episode (the one with the lizard that eats people). Back in 2020 I decided to re-watch that episode, and it was strange seeing it again, after occupying the remote corners of my memory for 14 years.
Edit: Apparently there are MULTIPLE lizards that eat people in this series. The episode I'm referring to is the one briefly shown @3:44

The only thing I remember about this show is the episode where Brandy befriends a fruit bat who Mr Whiskers insists is actually a vampire bat and tries to kill him by plunging a steak into his heart. That's not a typo. It later turns out he actually IS a vampire bat and just claimed he was a fruit bat so he wouldn't be stereotyped

I loved this show so much. I remember the Christmas special where Brandy and Mr. Whiskers delivered presents around the world and they actually did make it to Brandy’s house. I can’t remember what exactly happened but she ended up not staying home and they went back to the rain forest.

I really liked the show and the comedy is top notch. Im glad Disney didn't forget this show because a week ago, they just re-released the first episode on youtube for its 20th anniversary and I've been revisiting the show since. Man its as heartwarming and hilarious as I remembered as a kid and it did in fact teach me some valuable lessons. I love the water and oil friendship between Brandy and Whiskers. It's a shame there's no conclusive episode.I would imagine there'd be a last episode where Whiskers would help Brandy return to Florida but then she discovers her owners replaced her so she returns to the amazon with him to live at the jungle as her forever home. At least we get to enjoy the eps and youtube and once again Im glad Disney are honouring the show's memory.

That show had SO many weird episodes. The episode where Mr. Whiskers got into a fight with his brain (yes, his brain was a separate character. Show was hella weird), so his brain abandoned him and Brandy had to try and orchestrate a make-up between them. The episode where Brandy stole a pair of shoes because they were the latest trend and she couldn't afford them, but then felt so guilty about it that she had to sneak into the mall to try and return them. The episode where Brandy was trying to break into the crashed space ship of a cosmonaut monkey because there was an "emergency rescue button" inside, but the monkey didn't want to use it cause he thought he'd get sent back to space (and when she finally got her hands on the button, it just opened up a hatch that released a single peanut). And one of my personal favorites; the episode where Mr. Whiskers convinces Brandy to be his partner in a series of tag-team wrestling matches, and despite Brandy not wanting to fight cause it doesn't fall into her typical girly-girl image/habits (she ends up wearing a wrestling mask and using a fake voice to pretend she's some random wrestling dude instead), she completely dominates when she actually gets tagged in cause she got a lot of practice growing up fighting for kibble amongst her littermates, and eventually takes off her wrestling mask to reveal who she is after hearing some jerk kids telling a girl wrestling fan that girls can't do certain things, like wrestling.

This is something I watched as a kid with my older sister, I was like, Idk, 4 years old maybe? I literally don't remember anything from it aside from how it looked like. I loved the show, more for the worldbuilding and characters. Personally, my Brandy has a Keyblade and is searching for Whiskers with the help of Max Goof and Oswald the Rabbit on the RLS Legacy, but to each their own.
What I distinctly remember about this show is that sometimes during the break, there would be a game show segment themed around it.

You took me right back to 2005-2006 with that Gameboy advance Disney show collection bit which I actually had and jokes aside it was actually really cool at the time cause things like smart phones for example weren't really a thing quite yet so to be able to watch TV when we were traveling I thought was pretty rad as a kid.

Brandy and Mr. Whiskers was one of my favorite Disney Channel shows growing up next to American Dragon Jake Long, Lilo and Stitch, Kim Possible, House of Mouse, Proud Family, Buzz on Maggie, and The Replacements. I always wished that they would make a toy line of the show because I wanted merch (mainly plushies and/or figures) of my favorite character, Brandy Harrington. But now and then I have quoted a lot of Mr. Whisker's lines. Like I still used the Cupid with a huge mallet swinging scenario when I first encounter a fictional/celebrity crush. It may be a dumb thing to think about, but its my dumb thing to think about. 😂😂🐶🐰🌴
