Good catch. “Still look to him without a doubt” Without a doubt is the meaning of the word Proof. You can’t deny the truth of something if there’s proof!
When he Em says "for the People I've Been a Minister", he's actually saying, For the People I've Been a Menace too. So it's a double entendre. Great Reaction! I just suggested this the other day on the "Not Alike" vid I think, I'm sure they're were others that suggested it though, but still really cool to see this reaction. Thanks
BTW, I really think you would be mind blown in a good way if you check out the "Asa Jake" song called "Hi Eminem", just to get you started. Asa, is a mind blowing lyricist. Thanks again
Yes, Eminem is talking about Proof. At one point he pulls up his sleeve and points to the tattoo of Proof. You should dive into some Yelawolf as well. He is the total package as far as music. He sings, raps, covers multiple genres of music. Amazing artist, I will throw a couple recommendations below.
If u pay close attention Chris, you notice you never actually see him swearing on camera inside the cathedral. Very interesting and cool and respectful. Watch it again. Make you do the song 25 to life. The biggest double entendre hes ever done. The entire song is one
You need to check out "Rock Bottom" by EM off of his first album, before he blew up. You also need to check out "Difficult" about Proofs passing very emotional. Love your reactions man, keep it up!!
Rock bottom is a classic imo, it’s a perfect track. Difficult is… Difficult to listen to, remember when I listened to it after someone I knew passed and whenever Eminem is about to say casket… I just broke into tears. Beautiful tribute.
This is one of my favorite verses Em has ever written. So many meaningful doubles laced throughout the verse while maintaining an underlying religious theme throughout. All of that without making anything feel out of place or forced. I could list 20 different lines that are insane, but I’ll focus on a few that you noticed. The minister line you noted is actually a homophone where he actually says “the people I’ve been a menace to” and he slants the end of the line to sound like minister. He then clarified what he means by clarifying that he didn’t mean a preacher, but that he’s been a nuisance to people. Another one that’s insane is the whole football scheme you noticed. “Act just like a quarterback and take a hike when I snap because I’m a center”. The center in football is the player that snaps the ball to the quarterback, but he also used center as a homophone for sinner. Again, this entire verse is insane and is layered with so much meaning while sticking to the theme of the song. Loved your reaction man!
PLEASE, listen to more Yelawolf! He's one of the most versatile artists, been one of my favorites the past 11 years for a reason! Awesome reactions! 🤘🏻

You should definitely dive into more Yelawolf. He is so talented. He started off hip hop then mixed it in with some country and now he's fully rock & roll
"You be D-O-A, they'll announce But pronounce you dead when they sound it out So prepare for a rival Your arch enemy surrounds you now he's all around you" I really like this bar. Sounds like arrival to the hospital but also your rival. Especially the production making it sound like your rival surrounds ya.
I discovered your reactions to Eminem's songs a few days ago. I grew up listening to his music. Glad to see you embracing his artistic masterpieces! He can evoke lots of emotions from people. He has such a beautiful way of weaving a story through his lyrics. This song in particular is just incredible. I personally think Eminem is referencing Proof and God, because the first thing he says is about begging God to give him the armour to fight -- very profound, right there. Keep up the good work dissecting bars! It's like a fun scavenger hunt finding them! I also enjoy your sharing of your own life struggles. Your enthusiasm and appreciation for learning new musical genres is wonderful and refreshing. There are so many great songs out there just waiting to be unearthed. RUclips is a great platform for that. Take care. 😊
The chills (and tears) after Em’s verse is just a given, this song will never not hit me like a ton of bricks, the strings and the words and the passion, I can’t.
Thank you so much for doing this!!! Great reaction! This was an emotional song and the best thing about this song it can mean so many things to each listener. Yelawolf is a great artist he is a rapper/singer and he didn't rap on this song but he can definitely rap. If you want to do a reaction on one of his raps you should do bloody Sunday by yelawolf. It was a freestyle and he killed it!
This is such a great track. Em has tons of doubles in there, like he says he should show some remorse to the people he has been a menace to, but he says it like “minister”. Basically Yela says if you wish him dead he will send you straight up to deal with God. Em says if you cross him, he’ll send you straight up to deal with his best friend. So, when Em’s done with you, Proof will be waiting at the pearly gates with something for dat ass-basically. Good job for catching that he was talking about Proof.
Yelawolf's sound is very unique, and when he gets to storytelling in his lyrics, his imagery is second to none. He'll paint a picture in your mind with his words. Check out Daylight, Shadows, or Pop The Trunk.

it's so incredible and heartbreaking to to see how much he loved his best friend. I cant even imagine what it would be like to lose someone you love so much in such a violent way. it's just so tragic. you should react to an unreleased track called "difficult" where he talks about Proof's death(that one always make me cry) and "you're never over" is also an amazing song he made about Proof.
That’s crazy. I just revisited Knox Hill as well as Stevie Knight’s second reaction to this song yesterday because I got into a deep conversation about Eminem with a girl I’ve started dating.😅 Thanks for another dope reaction, this is my favorite Eminem verse atm.💯🔥
The best part about your reactions is that you’re so mind blown by Em’s lyrical ability and there’s sooooo much substance underneath his lyrics that you are only catching very few punchlines and metaphors. WHICH IS FINE! I can promise you NOBODY is catching EVERY bar he says on just one listen. But you’ll have your doctoral diploma soon enough!! Love the reactions buddy

It's all about proof.. just like you caught.. ..on point unk... That's his higher power. Which in newer age AA, they yell you if you aren't religious that you can use a different higher power. Kids, wife, parents etc.. aren't supposed to be used. But, the fact that proof was the 1 that kept pushing him to keep writing and rapping, makes this song hit so much harder.. Yelawolf said he sent his part in, heard Ems verse & didn't want to try to attempt to get in the way. It was so powerful...
Lol I literally yelled out loud DONT PAUSE DONT PAUSE during the last verse.... 😂😂 Good that u got the full force of the song hit u in the chest.... Other than Dead Wrong, this is arguably EM's best Song ever..... 😎😎
There are so many doubles in this em verse it’s insane I definitely suggest going and reading the lyrics to it for instance “for the people I’ve been a minister(menace to) not a preacher but a shit starter” minister, preacher correlation but also he’s been a menace in rap and a shit starter. You’ve come a long way though that proof catch was nice and the football scheme.
I think this may be the most recent Eminem you’ve done? It’s so amazing to watch you discover him, and be jumping into how he burst into the scene to how he’s evolved. My take: no matter what decade of his journey you delve into, what you always get is honesty mixed with brilliant creative talent and that’s why his fans are ride or die with this man. His verses in Best Friend are just as raw and honest as what we experienced in the beginning, straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Edit: maybe River with Ed Sheeran was more recent but the point is the same, his craft 30 years later is still incredibly real and clever 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I was so excited to see this pop up tonight! And I am SO impressed with how tuned in your ear already is with his verses. I was so sure the double would go over your head and you'd miss he was speaking about Proof, but also, in my opinion speaking of a loose spirituality. Many reactors missed that entirely. And you caught SOOO much of his bars. Respect, man! Can't wait for the Not Afraid reaction! Then I hope to see you start digging a little deeper into some older music and/or newer. Also, Yelawolf is also a really cool artist you might entertain looking more into. He's so versatile also, he's a killer rapper in his own right.

My first comment on your channel! You really need to listen to Yelawolf's The Last Song and Disappear. Especially Disappear, I really think it is something you would appreciate. Very emotional, with religious influence.
A lot of people consider this to be one of, if not the best Eminem verse of all time. I think it’s in my top 3 without a doubt. It’s so powerful and emotional while staying true to his lyrical abilities. I think Yelawolf found the perfect way to make this song his own while also staying out of Em’s way. The difference in how they both approached this track somehow made them compliment each other even better. I’m so excited for you to continue with your homework. Great job!
This is one of those songs that you will hear a new double everytime you listen. The quarterback scheme has 3 additional doubles for instance. Your correct on the proof best friend reference
I grew up in a very conservative religious household. It was very strict to say the least. Surprisingly, I stopped going to church. However, I am still a believer. After reading the bible, I've come to learn that you have to read between the lines or else you will take it too literally.. the Bible is like a puzzle that has transcended for over 2,000 years in time. If we were to completely go by what it says then we would all be going to hell just by wearing a certain cloth or sandal LOL. Definitely read between the lines is the best advice I can give anybody who struggles with their faith

Without me or the real slim shady is a must. Shocked you haven't done them yet. They're the songs that made em popular and controversial
i didn't even think about it. Theyre so popular I always forget some people haven't heard them lol
He's gotta do My Name Is 1st tho, all three in order
Thought you would enjoy this one. Yela is a true artist. Should check out some of his music from rap to country to rock. With em it’s a true masterpiece. 👍
One of Em's best verses
Man, when you said "Proof" and it just clicked I lost it, great reaction
I grew up in a very conservative religious household. It was very strict to say the least. Surprisingly, I stopped going to church. However, I am still a believer. After reading the bible, I've come to learn that you have to read between the lines or else you will take it too literally.. the Bible is like a puzzle that has transcended for over 2,000 years in time. If we were to completely go by what it says then we would all be going to hell just by wearing a certain cloth or sandal LOL. Definitely read between the lines is the best advice I can give anybody who struggles with their faith
Way to go larry! This is what an Eminem's heaviest verses and very complex. Great job
👌👏 Great one
I have heard it before but this was the first time actually listening to this song 💝 so thx for another great reaction from you
And so happy to see how the followers are growing 👌 you really deserve it
Thanks so much! I'm truly humbled.
His best verse in my opinion. It took me weeks of listening to get all the lyrics.
This verse is considered one of Em's greatest verses.
Yelawolf was signed to Shady Records for quite a while.
Great reaction brother.
You should tap into more Yelawolf
He is so underrated but an absolute amazing artist
