    Holy cow, is all I can say. I had some doubts but as the steps of the repair progressed from one level to the next, I was totally blown away especially by the end of this video. Leather repair is really artwork. And you, sir, have those skills. I kind of wished you had written down all the steps, what products you used, where to buy them, etc. in the description area so that someone like me can have a go at a repair like this. I do, however, have a question. How long does a repair like this hold up to wear and tear over the years?

    • @a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247
      @a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247  3 года назад +2

      Thank you, Robert. This is not a DIY channel. Please see your supplier for the products. And as for wear over time, it is impossible to gauge what kind of abuse any repair could be subjected to. The important thing is for the customer to allow at least a week for a total cure of the topcoat. We do know that after that length of time and considering we have used crosslinker, the topcoat is very difficult to remove even with acetone.

      Most techs will, I think, have a minimum service charge for any residential call and that might figure for one hour of work time. So if this takes 2 hours then X2. Surprisingly these days if pick up and delivery are required then that alone can equal or more the cost of repairing. I'm beginning to think the moving business is more lucrative! Thanks

      If you have a minumum for residential calls, bear in mind that this involves two trips and there is a pickup and delivery charge. You may figure two hours on the repair. It could be done on site but I also wanted the luxury of filming it since some were doubting that my previous video shown some years ago to the industry was authentic. @@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 My father started teaching me vinyl repair when I was about 6 years old. I'm 46 now. Most of the videos I've seen on RUclips make me laugh like one I saw, this guy smeared silicone all over his leather seat presenting it as a permanent repair. I have to say that out of all of the videos I've seen, you are the closest to how I approach my repairs. I think I can learn from your channel. I only found it a couple days ago but thanks for the videos. It's good to know there are others out there who care about the quality of their work.

    Wow. My toddler just ripped 4 holes in our couch (with her nails) that we JUST brought home from being in storage out of town. I’m livid and am now realizing that we will never be able to fix it. I don’t have all of these tools (and time without toddlers) and it costs $500 to have some come fix it! We might as well put a deposit on a new couch. I don’t know why they charge 500 for a couple hours of work.

    Please no music in future videos! It makes your incredible work hard to watch. That said thank you for sharing your knowledge. The music, not so much.
