This song is the reason I decided to join band... two years later it still evokes so much emotion and many memories, I just wish I got the chance to play it
I know I'm a *few* years late, but same thing here.. nearly a decade ago and I still remember all the new Trumpets and Trombones looking up to us two seniors telling them be bold, proud, brass and just absolutely proclaiming "here we are" at 2:30 ... man, the smiles on those kids faces
My school's senior band is playing this for spring concert next week. Love the energy in this song and I'm excited to perform it. This professional recording is AWESOME!
I played this piece for a concert over 3 years ago in my senior year of high school (I was lead flute) and over 3 years later here I am. Awake since 6 in the morning and texting my old band teacher to help me find this piece.
I discovered this song two years ago, and loved it. I forgot it, and it sat in the bottom of my playlist until last year, in 2019, when I rediscovered it's glory and beauty. I have now rediscovered it after filing through my playlists. This fits almost perfectly with Ghost of Tsushima, and I fully and completely love it. This and Japanese Folktale are breathtaking, so I must give credit where credit is due.
I just played this for concert band and it’s by far my favorite piece that I’ve ever played in my past ten years on clarinet:,) (it beat Argentum out as my fav lol)
Played this last year as a 1st trumpet, holy cow, I cant remember how me and the 2 other seniors felt after that last melody for the trumpets, I know we actually had trouble breathing and getting notes but somehow we pulled it off to win our music competition in Virginia, probably going to be the best thing that ever happened to any of us and I might come back in a few years to ask our band instructor to play this again
It's only lit when the BD has to explain how to drop with the Flute. It's important to note here that my BD does not, in fact, play flute, so it was fantastic watching him try to teach them something not even he knew how to do
i do the drums part in band. We're gonna be playing this in a couple weeks! Incredible song, and so fun, when your'e playing the main parts:Drums (the base drum, in my case)
we just did this for a band concert. It was amazing! A kid broke two drum sticks while playing it.

That's how you know they're doing it right
Same. Broke some stuff just practicing this.
just how you know your doing it right
How did he finish the song?

It was at this moment that all the trumpet triplets in the world converged in one location.
2:35 makes me proud to have played this on the Trumpet. Good throwback to nearly a decade ago and just letting the power flow
I missed playing this song by one year... :'(
I enjoy this piece a lot. My class and I are working really hard and are almost there. It too less than a month to do.

I love 1st trombones mix of melody and background in the piece, it's amazing to play
I played an interesting version for our concert this year, I ended up playing ContraBass Clarinet part. sounded so cool

I'm pretty sure this song is the only reason we got unanimous superior at festival. Haha!
The piccolo part for this is so fun!
def my fav song at band camp🫨
THIS SOUNDS JUST LIKE THE MGS THEME SONG
I can confirm the percussion part is fun
The piece is called Drums of the Saamis. The Composers/Arrangers name is Samuel R. Hazo. Coincidence?
Love Samuel R. Hazo! We just did Arrows for band. Such a fun piece. Trying to convince my band director to do this one.
Ahhhhh the memories of Band members saying Drums of the Salami
I accidentally had this in 1.25x and I was not at all disappointed.
Triple fortè gong go brrrr
bahahah the kung fu panda vibes from this song. we're doing this for our concert and im telling you it took blood sweat and tears to learn it 😭
Lovely
I literally screamed in exited when I saw the triplets (trumpet)
Me and 1 other euphonium player.
Director: "you two back off." Were the only two euphonium players
Is anyone else here for districts?
Are these midis
Why does this remind me of Kung Fu Panda
Crimson Flash probably the Chinese feel from the flute
Anyone from Acadia or FRC see my commont?
We’re doing this for a concert. I called it Drums of the Sans
3:32
Sounds like a dong that would be playing in how to trajn a dragon. Fast tempoed but also like each beat has long meaning
