    Premiered by Maestro Eugene Migliaro Corporon conducting the National Honor Band of America, this spectacular memorial for renowned band director Charles Campbell will surround your students and audiences in layers of emotion. Expressive moments upon moments allow the ensemble to follow their musical instincts, gaining an aesthetic reward each time. Typical of performances, the work fades into introspective silence, then is followed by lengthy applause. Available in the original three-movement set, and also just Mvt. 1, The Stillness of Remembering - goo.gl/iNdhbm

      I was a saxophonist under the man who this song was written for. He was an unbelievable human being that was warm outside of his body. He introduced and inspired so much love. A great man. Held an community together and built an empire. We should have the upmost respect for people like him. Gorgeousness.

    Fun fact: I played this piece at the annual Kansas State University's Concert Band Clinic in January 2020. Being apart of the piece live is already emotional and powerful in itself, but that performance became so much more when I learned that Kobe Bryant passed away hours before (on Euphonium). I held back tears the entire performance.

    If this wasn’t so long, I would ask my band director if we could play it. Since I’m still in high school, many of the students would be against such a long piece. A lot were against Shenandoah, sadly

    That finger stretch in the beginning with the piano solo... how does one even? It's too awkward to play with two hands and I can barely span that far even with my gigantic hands

    • @samuelzurita3342
      @samuelzurita3342 7 лет назад +2

      It was awkward!!! After awhile i just started playing the bottom note of each chord with my left hand. May not have been the right way, but it felt better for me.

    • @ginogamboni689
      @ginogamboni689 7 лет назад +8

      Well the solo is supposed to be played with two hands. You can tell by the impossible arm stretches. The reason for why it isn't shown on both lines of the grand staff is probably of how the composer notation or how they write piano parts. Some write in this format: left hand=bass clef line/right hand= treble clef line which is usually TRADITIONAL, but sometimes you get piece that are written freely, like the piece above. And it does get a bit awkward on some of the chords, but hey, whatever flows Samuel R. Hazo's boat
