I have a wading suggestion! Get a cheap round laundry basket line the top edge with zip tied pool noodles, put your live fish in, release the 15” trout when you get the larger one.

Anytime there are Ladyfish like that, I know I'm going to catch something BIG! It's not just Trout that follows them around! Ladyfish stir up the water and commotion! That puts the gamefish at an advantage with their prey, and YOU at an advantage with predators! SO! I'll say it again! This day was PERFECT for putting your large combo in a sand spike with either a small live Ladyfish or half of a large Ladyfish! Then go back to working your Slam Shady (even though you know that I much prefer a 3" NLBN Jig) while you are waiting on a Bull Red, Snook, Jack Cravelle, or Tarpon! All 4 of those just love the smell of Ladyfish! * Sidenote: I believe that either jig, The Slam Shady or the 3" NLBN Jig will catch fish equally well. I just don't care for the Slam Shadys tail holder and the constant touching it requires to keep pushing it back in place. I guess the NLBN screw lock system has me spoiled! My motto is like lotto! "You can't win if you don't play." lol! 😮
If it wasn’t for the wind on this trip I was going to do exactly that Will! But funny enough the guy next to me was fishing with a nlbn and just wasn’t catching as many as me! Although he probably wasn’t using as light of line as me or the loop knot but I have to take one of those with me and give it a shot next time! Also I’ve been chunking out lady fish on the side almost every trip still haven’t got a hit on it but I’m sure it’s coming! Thanks as always Will! Happy holidays and tight lines!! 😁🎣
@@JfishyYT No it's not the loop knot or line size, so much as it is YOU! I don't use a loop knot (though I probably should) and I never use less than a 20lb. flouro. leader. NO! I've told you before! You have a great natural jig retrieve! It's not something you can learn, teach or even unlearn! Call me crazy but I've seen it too many times with friends. Some people put off a frequency that is somehow similar to a struggling or dieing bait. This frequency is transmitted through a tight fishing line (like a string and tin cans) and this frequency is recieved/heard through a fishes lateral line! I never realized this until I read it somewhere and started paying attention! Some people like me put off a decent frequency, but others like you and Laz (the kid down south) and few other friends have a true gift! Laz, has it conquered, he realizes it and knows how to use it. (You know he uses nothing but NLBN's, but not because they taste or look better to fish, but because of their durability, ease of use and they cover more ground because you're not always touching and adjusting them. And my personal opinion they seem to catch BIG fish. All of you guys NEED to start paying attention on you tube to the NLBN mini mullets and the K-Tail Mullets! These baits are HOT! What's cool is they are weedless and can be skipped under mangroves and docks! Don't believe me? Watch on you tube! J, I gave you some of these! Put them on something and leave them on and practice working them every chance you get! Get good with them, and it will pay you with BIG fish! Always use your natural gift to learn new tricks!!! BTW J, I'm recovering nicely! I haven't forgot, I promise you, we got a boat trip coming!
