Yep, Lizard fish. I am planning a kayak trip down there myself. Stressed about the wind and currents. Not to mention, I fly fish pretty much exclusively. But I will make it. Will be a camping trip when I go, just need to get the wife on board! Lol
Around 2:20:30 you caught a leather jack aka devil fish, it can get you pretty good with those spines on top, very good video and specially commentary.
Great content as always. I look forward to seeing how you outfit the Bona Fide. I've been debating between the Bona Fide and the Wilderness Systems Tactical Pro. I'm leaning towards the Tactical Pro because you can store two 100ah batteries inside the rear deck. It also looks like the mid-section storage hatch can be used as a bait tank. No batteries and no bait bucket would free up a lot of deck space. You may want to check it out to see if it might work better for you than the Bona Fide. (I think both companies screwed up by making them so much shorter than a PA14.)

Hey Justin, just set up my UL rig with jigs, 2lb line, and gulp from your links, once the wind here in SE Georgia dies down look forward to testing it out.
For future trips down there: when you are trolling like this, be sure to run your spoon close to the crab or marker bouys if you can without hanging up. Many may hold a tripletail underneath.
In my kayak I keep a peice of pool noodles with about 40ft of bank line or mason twine with a good size nut tied on and knots tied every foot to check depth with. It's not 100% accurate but it's close enough for my curiosity
Insurance costs are crazy. You have 3 different coverages. Hazard, Wind, Flood.Hazard is not bad, wind is outrages, flood varies on your property elevation.
i have never get motion sickness on my kayak.. i do get motion sickness on other stuff. thrown up on planes, boats, cars (if i look down at the phone too long).. never in the yak, she should try it

Every time I go by there on my way to Key West I wish I was down there doing just what you are doing.
Troll along the structure for the cudas. Channel markers, power poles, bridge supports, etc they all hold bait which attracts the cudas.

Hey Justin, there’s no limit in FL on those Cero Mackerel. They get up to 3ft and and the state record is like 17 lbs
