    Very well thought out. This is information that none of the other tuber fishers give. They just parrot eachother and make hype. The letting line out technique should be made much more vital to a lot of these styles of fishing. I'm really trying to innovate in my leader punch shot rigging. Trying to make them with a floro shock leader, k/whacky hooks with a screw lock. Mostly for walleye. But there is no perfect all around rig that we have found. The information in this video is a step forward. At least for me. Maybe I'll test a free tokyo rig.

    Thanks for your testing! I recently saw another RUclips where free rigs were tested. The weight would not separate and I wondered if it was falling on slack Line or not. You proved that slack line presentation is the only way to go! Does the slack line make it harder to detect bites? Thanks again

    • @BassniperEng
      @BassniperEng  6 месяцев назад

      It's more of a semi-slack, not pig-tail slack if using fluorocarbon. When using fluorocarbon, no problem detecting semi slack line bite. Braided will require relatively tighter line control to be able to feel all the bites.

    Great tutorial,thanks👍
    Often I use c-rig in shallow water with a shorter leader and higher hops while making long casts.Bait-weight separation in these conditions has proven to be difficult for me.I think this type of c-rig is similar to a split shot rig

    • @BassniperEng
      @BassniperEng  7 месяцев назад +1

      I still throw on 3 ft leader on C-rig in shallow water for that initial fall (once weight hits bottom, long leader pretty much gave weightless fall, in some very shallow water if the leader is longer than water depth, the bait won't even gets the pull from weight, thus essentially a weightless rig which casts a country mile).

    Very important and informative video! With the free rig weight I think shape of the weight used is important that helps that pendulum movement. Some weights are longer and more weight at the bottom which seems to do better. Also like you say the bigger hole used.

    • @BassniperEng
      @BassniperEng  7 месяцев назад

      Very true! For this reason I like the Damiki "power shot" weight, relatively affordable while performing well. Some others perform well but...soon is going to cost an arm and leg if fishing in nasty rocks lol

      For 1/2-3/4, I use NRX or NRX+ 873CRR, I'm liking the NRX+ more and more as the tip section is more flexible than the NRX. For 1 oz and above I started to throw on the Megabass P5 BMG USA model last year. I used to throw everything on the old NRX 873CRR, although only rated up to 3/4 oz it handled 1oz well. But the BMG is a different beast for these heavy stuff.

    Yes, smart. You can also reverse the bobber stop. So weight first and then bobber stop and then hook. I’ve been doing that in shallow rivers for years and it 100% makes a difference. It also helps it from getting snagged.

    The weight and bait style matter as well. It's counterintuitive. It's better to underweight the free weight and use a bait that catches a LOT of water. This allows for better separation.

    • @BassniperEng
      @BassniperEng  7 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely. Heavy Weight tends to give more problem. Baits with less water drag also tends to separate less.

    ***So keep the bail open on the open-faced reel and spool free on a bait-cast to achieve the desired slack?
    Trying the free-rig technoque for 1 st time. I couldn't understand why my free-rig weight always seems to be next the hook on the retrieve. Now understand what I have been doing wrong. Thx.

    I don't know anything about free rigs.... Guessing adding a tiny little bead between sinker and everything else you'll have no more issues

    • @BassniperEng
      @BassniperEng  7 месяцев назад +1

      I tested beaded or non beaded Free rig and Texas rigs. The weight bait separation is not automatic regardless the set up, as long as there is no slack it won't have much or any separation.

    Well done sir, earned my sub... however, I'm torn...you most certainly deserve to succeed in your youtube endeavors, and I'm certain you will...but as a tournament angler in a very competitive sport where even the slightest advantage can mean the difference in thousands of dollars and life-changing opportunities, this knowledge is extremely valuable and I selfishly want to keep it for myself 😂😂😂 thank you for your selflessness, it is greatly appreciated 🎣

      Take it sir, and I wish you the best luck in your next tourney! I don't do tournaments, for the reason -- they don't start at 5 am it's over in 8 hours and 8 hours only!? Where is the other 4-8 hours of fishing time? LOL~all the jokes aside, I do admire those who pursue the sports in competitive spirit and always push the sports to another level.

      @@BassniperEng LOL most top level guys would say that extra time fishing was the 12 plus hour days practicing trying to figure em out... funny thing is, that for all of our technology, innovation, and time on the water, even at the highest levels of fishing, there are always anglers who struggle to catch fish 😂
      I think some folks could learn more sometimes by viewing the bottom of the leaderboard than the top of it lol... perspective is everything 😁 best of luck on your channel bro I'm here for it

    My mind is blown people are only figuring this out recently,maybe it's only internet anglers that hadn't worked it out. If this is the case the "free rig" didn't originate in Japan. I've been using it for years in the UK and am pretty sure others have here and in mainland Europe. It's the only way to present small fry imitations when the fish (any species, fresh or salt) are feeding exclusively on them and have been for a while.
