His beauty was insolent and his talent opened the doors of glory to him! The New York Times describes a man as "intense and intensely handsome", an "international star" courted by the greatest filmmakers of his time. "The most handsome man in the history of cinema", sums up the New Yorker. Before the age of 30, he had already worked with legendary directors. When he arrived somewhere, he took up all the space. Refusing to be called an comedian, he defined himself as an "actor" and said: "An actor is a vocation, a profession that is learned, it is a life choice. An actor is a personality, generally strong, taken and put at the service of cinema by a combination of circumstances. All of this is extraordinary and miraculous. ". No one will ever be able to claim to be like him. He was unique, singular, desperately solitary, an intense and intensely handsome man. The feline, the cheetah, the actor with the steely gaze, of an insolent and wild beauty with a sweet and carnivorous smile is extinguished. Thank you Mr. Delon!
Mélodie en sous-sol, 1963, with Gabin. Les Félins, 1964, with Jane Fonda. Le Clan des Siciliens, 1969, with Gabin and Lino Ventura. Le Guépard, 1963, with Burt Lancaster and Claudia Cardinale. La Piscine, 1968, with Romy Schneider and Maurice Ronet. Borsalino, 1970, with Belmondo. Scorpio, 1976, with Burt Lancaster.
I agree with Melodie and Le Clan, but I'd add Purple Noon, Samourai, and farewell friend instead. For the top 5 beginners. Mi like la piscine and Scorpio a lot too, and the leopard, but they're for a specific audience, not everyone will like them. I also like rocco but again, it may not appeal to a lot of people. Borsalino imo I did not like
my top 10 is 1. purple noon (also my favorite film of all time) 2. any number can win 3. le samourai 4. swimming pool 5. l'eclisse 6. rocco and his brothers 7. mr.klein 8. le cercle rouge 9. the last adventure 10. the leopard. there is also the sicilian clan, indian summer, borsalino, tony arzenta (aka the og john wick) and many others but i'm already having a hard time placing my top 10. i think i've seen 30 or 40 of his film.
Make it eight. La Piscine is one of the best psychological dramas / thrillers ever. The ultimate maffia movie is not The Godfather. Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and James Caan? Jean Gabin, Lino Ventura and Alain Delon in Le Clan des Siciliens. This movie teaches the true meaning of cool. Fun bonus: Borsalino.
(1)Deux hommes dans la ville (2) Rocco et... (3) M.Klein (4)Il Gattopardo (5) Le Clan des ... (6) Le Cercle Rouge (7) Samourai (8) A Flic Story (9) Melodie en sous sol, (10) Le Gitan (11)Le Plein Soleil (12) La Piscine
Delon was Ripley. I walked out on Damon’s portrayal because he wasn’t Ripley. He had no charisma at all and did not resemble Jude Law. Maurice Ronet and Delon could pass for each other. Delon was as I imagined from the books. I just watched “Rocco” and Delon was wonderful, as was Renato Salvatori. I think Delon became more handsome as he aged.
Personally disagree. He was great as Ripley but the later cast was better, in my opinion. Though I'd say the later adaptation was miles better than Plein Soleil overall.
Encomendei o Dvd Samurai e assisti no sábado.
@@ahoovah2 I thought Delon was so moving in the Professor or otherwise known as Indian Summer. He's more beautiful when he's moving and vulnerable. He has that side too not just the cold and hard.
Some one said Delon was the worst actor... They missed the whole piont of Delon - he wasn't acting in his big ones. He wasn't an actor in the normal sense - he was just Delon. The best ( actor) I ever saw.
Good selection. I think the best years of Delon were the 60s-70s. In the 80s, he began making cop flicks and remained a prisoner of this image for a long time (the solitary vigilante). And I think the producer side of him was a nuisance for the actor side of him, IMHO.
@@marcl2213 And excellent films where he is not the lead actor like Les seins de glace, traitement de choc... Le cinéma français "premium" était d'une très très grande qualité...

A different type of Masculinity for the 60s he fitted those roles of the amoral loner type with his break through Purple Sun 1960 and French Ripley introversion. Hollywood couldn't do anything with him ( Yellow Rolls Royce)
Un Flic 1973 the final part of his Melville trilogy was my all time greatest no 1 film for 8 years. Replacing Goddard's Weekend 1967. Two great anti humanist directors who gave us proper cinema of the black pill during all that mini skirt nonsense!
Jessau's Armaguedon 1976 an absurd black drama sees Jean Yann ( the most p... off face in French cinema) seeking impossible revenge and celebrity against the world for a pathetic losers life. Borsalino
La piscine
Le samouraï
Le cercle rouge
Le guépard
Plein soleil
Masterpiece❤❤❤❤❤
Good selection, but I would add La Piscine 1968, Le Guepard 1963
He was so handsome.omg. R.I.P sir Love from Vietnam
most beautiful man ever walked in this planet
Totally agree
These 6 films made him a cinematic icon: his mesmeric looks and acting were in a special amalgam.
Le clan des Siciliens. A must watch too.
Delon played Delon in all his movies but with his look and his minimal dialogue he is one of the best looking actors ever. RIP

To compare Matt Damon s ' version to Delon's is laughable. Delon's Purple Moon is a Masterpiece.
Alain Delon forever!
🇺🇦 ❤❤❤
He is extremely famous here in France but until now I didn’t realize how popular he was worldwide, that is crazy
VIVE ALAIN DELON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big Gun and Big Knives Action movies of Alain Delon !
These movies are amazing they should English dub them!
It also the Beginner's Guide of Handsomeness.
