Hello Brian thanks for your efforts and positive vibes, as Sony fan i will pick the a95k lol, but that G3 is very hard to pass it's value (sublime whites and blacks, peak lumens, 5 years butn in warranty)
In some scenes QM8 has better contrast ( like in 15:19 ) and white is really white. OLEDs struggle to show clear white, G3 is more bluish and A95K is more pinkish. I would say for dark scenes the winner is G3 but when it comes time for brighter scenes, definitely QM8 is the winner and easily can be seen after 15:13.

@@TBoogy3I got a 77” G3 coming next week. $3,150 brand new through my work’s discount program. The 65” was $2,300. But yeah, most people aren’t dropping that much on TVs. The QM8 is impressive for its price.
Great video as always, but you're wrong on this one. The U7K & A95K performed the best. They had the best picture quality far as my eyes could see and I have 20/20 vision, lol.
The warmth and detail of the Sony is pretty tough to beat. The scenes with the ripples in the water have so much more detail on the Sony and LG as compared to the TCL and Hisense. That G3 is pretty incredible but is just a tiny bit cool for me. The saturation of it and the Sony were pretty good but the sunsets with the pinks/purples being over saturated by the Sony was interesting to see. Edit: after watching further into the video it sounds like the tint is slightly skewed on camera for some reason.
The U7K’s PQ shocked me with how good it is. It actually looks better than the A95K coming out of blacks. It may not have the contrast of the QM8 but I think I’d rather watch dark shows/movies on the U7K. The G3 is goated but my setup requires a stand and I hate the one LG sells. If MLA ever comes down to the C series I’d probably spring for that.
Brian, if you can, as soon as you get a chance, please take a temperature reading on the G3's screen. I did that the other day after noticing that it was throwing off just WAY too much heat. On the 77" G3 the temp reading at the center of the screen came back at 120.7 degrees F. That's just FAR too hot for any modern TV being released to market here in 2023. Any TV running at those temperatures is going to have to experience a shortened useful life as a result, you would think. Right? I'm honestly amazed that LG even let a screen that runs that hot go all the way out to market like that. They probably shouldn't have. There are a lot of customers out there that are going to feel the heat coming off of that MLA panel and honestly wonder if it's even safe to have in their home running that hot.
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY This vid convinced me to get the u7k for the family room. I have an C2 in my main viewing room and an A2 in the bedroom so hoping I can tolerate a mini led. But I don't watch much TV in that room. It's more for the grandkids so I think it will be fine. Thanks again for the comparisons. You're doing a great job, very professional. Keep up the great work
U7k is surprisingly holding up well against the very expensive models. To be compared with Sony and lg is not an easy feat to achieve. Tcl is rocking as always. Got the u7k but very tempted to get the u8k but can't justify the $500 price difference.
@sont77 I hear the qm8 is better but I don't know if it will work because its hard to find a swivel mount to work with the 85" size because they use a weird 600x600 vesa pattern when most mounta go up to 600x400 but there are a few extra large but If I don't find the right one I'll do the qn90b!
I am thinking between getting U7K 65 inch and TLC 65C845 in end of the March 2024. The price difference in Europe is 150€. TLC is a little more expensive. Mostly I like to watch movies from Xbox Series x as my Video Output source . I have already spent hours of researching and still can not figure it out " which one is better" . What do you think about between these two ?
Qm8 looked best to me but at this point when it comes to these sets and tv technology in general, the differences aren’t vast…more like splitting hairs. So in my personal debate insofar as choosing a size - 77ish vs 83ish - and that outside of Samsung’s WOLD 83, there aren’t any other 83” oled sets available, QM8’s the price/value makes it difficult to pass up. Frankly, even if all the sets were the same price, they’re so close in picture quality that I don’t think most folks would notice much difference between them or at least believe one set is far superior than the others…at least not $2000 better
Got my 77” G3 wall mounted today and I can definitely say it lives up to the hype! I can see why HDTVtest, AVForums, WHATHIFI and FlatpanelsHD have given it the “Best in Class” Awards. It is stunning!
It looks nice for sure, but you need to be VERY careful with that TV. Just the other day I took a touchless thermal sensor/thermometer and took a temperature reading on the screen at the center point. It read back at an absolutely shocking 120.7 degrees F. By contrast, I took the same reading on a Sony A95K and X95K. Both of those read at a far cooler 97.1 degrees. I can't say for sure, but it appears as though LG is pushing that G3 panel at such incredibly high levels to get QD-OLED levels of performance out of it (so that it can be seen as being competitive in the marketplace today) that they are literally cooking that panel to do it. The next time you get a chance, put your hand on the surface of a G3 while it is running. You won't believe how hot it feels. I can only speculate that ANY TV being pushed THAT hard and running THAT hot is very likely going to experience a substantial shortening of its lifespan as a result of it.
@@michaelbeckerman7532 ohhh yea but what i will ask is how many others did you test? Yea its hot lol but if its designed to be able to do this when whats the issue......there two different panels rite? yea they could / could be different for several reasons. Not bias to either and trying to get a deal on either lol.
@@etinwonder right, but my question is this: why in late 2023 is a company bringing ANY product to market that measures 117 to 120 degrees at the screen - under ANY circumstances? Answer: they shouldn't!
I’m in the uk too. But apparently X95L comes in smaller screen sizes here in uk but 85 only in US. The smaller sizes in us are x93l and I was wondering if we get X93L in UK but just rename X95. As far as I understood x95 L will have more local dimming zones than x93L. X93l will be basically renamed X95K from last year. The price for 65inch is £2k atm which is not bad but only if we get the full specs X95L not the last year’s specs of X95K If anyone can confirm if that’s the case I’ll be very grateful. This is the only thing that holds me back to get the x95L. I want the QD-OLED but I’m worried of burn in.
Keep up the excellent work Fomo and Yourself do in explaining the myriad of TVs, from what i can see Brian TCL and Hisense have caught up with the Big Three...my best regards from a rather cold and rainy UK. 🌧
@emililiev1621 im in the UK and I totally agree with you about the thought of Image Retention especially with Sky and the logo that in the corner of the TV....im going for the 75x95L .... more zones and better processing
@15:40 The hair of the dog is clearest on the QM8 by a massive margin - that can only happen if the Sony has 6 of its 12 cylinders switched off. It also seems to have some sort of dynamic tone mapping turned on since there's more light in the hairs. I guess this highlights the potential issue with calibration - you can ruin the TV as evidenced by the A95k and G3 looking horribly dull and just ordinary next to the QM8. There's no way the TCL has processing that comes close to the A95k. When you buy these TVs, I feel that you're not paying as much for the panel as you're paying for the processing which is what makes the picture come alive and different than what you see on an iPad. I was just on a trip looking at iPad displays for 3 weeks and I came back and watched the same shows on my TV and I was just stunned to see the difference in picture quality. I also don't understand why anyone would calibrate a TV to 100-200 nits when most room's ambient light varies by 10000% during the day and literally can fluctuate by 50 to 500% in a 10 minute span as the sky goes from clouds to sunshine? The calibrated 200 nit TV is suddenly 20 nits. Great, I paid $3,000 for a 20 nit display that I have to use for the entire F1 race or World Cup final that matches my $300 iPad in its vibrancy.
So my take from this is: If you weren't looking at these side by side, the average viewer would be hard pressed to pick a clear winner. Even side by side it's soooo close. So, value takes the win in my book.
@@HPMIKE55 if you're getting 55-77 inch, and you're not gaming, my picks would be Samsung S95C (unless you want Dolby Vision), LG G3, or Sony A95K depending on your personal preferences. You won't be disappointed with any of them. They all have phenomenal picture quality. They each have strengths and weaknesses but the differences are negligible. If you don't have a budget and want the absolute best of the best, I'd wait until September to see what the A95L brings. Hopefully Brian will chime in, but if you have a place that will allow you to check them all out in person (outside of vivid mode) that would be the best. Personally, Samsung not having Dolby Vision automatically makes me rule them out these days. It's not so much that it's a must have feature, but I noticed certain Netflix content mastered in DV looks terrible on Samsung TVs with HDR10 for some reason, and it's extremely noticeable and unwatchable for me. That's not necessarily the TV's fault, but I'll have better luck picking a different TV then convincing Netflix to remaster their content. 😆
Hi i was watching one your showdowns of the Sony LEDs and Lg Leds which was excellent i found my tv i wrote it down but cant find it. Can you help me out my friend?
As someone who is planning a new tv purchase in the next 6 months or less, thanks for the side by side comparison. I’ve been between the A95k and G3 but leaning towards the Sony. I like what I saw with the Sony over the LG except the color in some scenes. Reds seem over saturated but I’m assuming that could be adjusted to my preference? Was hoping to make this my first MWave this year but unfortunately had to wait and plan to go to the next one.
Hopefully we will see you there next year. The pink you see is simply the camera sensor. That said, I'd wait until September for the a95L as the a95K will definitely drop. Thank you so much for watching
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY but then you need to do an immediate shootout the first day between the K and the L so I can make my mind up on whether to save money or get any extra advantages of the new model. LoL!
As a dealer of the 3 major players Sony, Samsung and LG out of the box the LG G3 is the most accurate TV we have ever sold, and sitting next to the Sony it's no contest IMO. Again, Calibration can fix a lot but most folks want pay to have a proper Calibration done.
I haven’t had a chance to watch the full Midwest AV videos. What did Jason say about calibrating the QM8? That 75” price is hard to pass up and I’m an OLED guy.
That’s what I’ve been thinking with tue 85” but what is tcl’s track record with qc and longevity. I went for a larger budget tv years again and it crapped out at 3 years so I’m really hesitant
@brokenwrench404 I will say I've had many TVs, currently, LG G2, Sony x95l, Samsung qn90b, LG C7, TCL 645, TCL 625, Hisense U8h and Sony a90j. My only TVs I've had issues with are my two LGs. One with the green blob issue and the other a power supply issue on G2. This isn't to knock LG as things happen but more to say that I haven't had any issues with either of the cheaper ones I own and they are amazing for value. The QM8 seems to be the same as you can get the 85 inch for the price of the 65. Thats a big difference and hard to beat. It would be one thing if it hard a bad picture. I understand we all have different experiences and I get feeling that way after your experience.
He thought it was impressive for the money. However, certain features such as edge enhancements couldn't be disabled which may have some artifacts. Other than that it's amazing for the money
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I’m considering replacing my 65S95B (recent firmware) in the living room with the 75QM8. Do you think that will be a mistake? I watch a lot of HDR streaming through ATV4K and 1080/4K Blu Rays.
@j.rfrazier1855 I think you'll appreciate the upgrade as your also jumping up in size. Considering the QM8 held it's own against a G3 at the same size is pretty telling
My wish is for a TV with Hisense processing for low-bit-quality content and multi-point calibration capability with TCL contrast, black levels, bloom control, and detail.
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Thanks for all of your support for MWAVE. It was great meeting and talking with you. Love that QM8 value, but I'm waiting for an 80+" class shootout. See you there next year.
There are plenty of calibrators that will travel out to you and professionally calibrate your display Via ISF. Look up ISF Calibration and check local.
Love the channel, I have an 85 in Sony 900h that I just love, trying to decide if it’s worth upgrading to a newer Sony at this point or another TV brand that would have an even better picture quality
Excellent question, and thank you for the kind words. The 900H was very good and was especially impactful at the 85" size . However, it did lack in regards to local dimming and higher end processing. The challenge for you is that you are already at a large size, so your options are limited. Oleds are out as they are smaller and you can only stay at 85". The X95L and X93L are excellent. If you don't mind going down the LG C3 and Sony A80L are also fantastic. Keep in mind the 900h is also still very good. Hope this helps
Amazing how a tv is “amazing” until the newer model comes out 6 months later and that “amazing” tv is now meh 😂 I see it all the time with camera’s. Your camera is perfect for your needs until someone says the new model is so much better. I’ve got my eye on the U7K because it’s $400 cheaper on sale than the U8H and all I know is it’s an upgrade to my 3 year old TCL 6 series. Hisense are really doing a great job of not price gauging and offer amazing value without cutting too many corners. Kudos to them. I was worried about reliability a few years back but that seems to be improved
That qdoled gives pinkish white is really disturbing, I’m waiting patiently for a95l to see if it’s fixed. If not then i’m going for g2 77 since we don’t have g3 77 only 65. Thanks for the comparison!
That tint is only on camera my friend and only because it's filmed with the others. It's only in certain scenes and doesn't look like that in person. Thank you for watching
I would wait for the A95L for two reasons. It will be excellent and worth the wait. It will be very expensive especially at 77" and it will help drive down the prices of everything else around it.
As always the Sony processing is just top-tier. I know without the white pixels that the G3 can not get as accurate in some scenes but I prefer most scenes on the G3 from what I can tell from your camera to my 1080 phone screen.
Like brian, I kno the QD oled looks good and all. But aren’t there any drawbacks with QD oled and OLEDs in general? And no don’t tell me burn in. I means the other stuff involving pixels. Cuz others have mentioned it but didn’t elaborate on it
What people are speaking on in pixel degradation. The pixels simply dying it. I haven't experienced this and I've had them for many years. As far as QD-OLED they're only in the 2nd generation so I can't speak on that yet. Biggest drawbacks of QD-OLED mainly Samsung is it literally turns grey in direct sun light. They also do dim occasionally. They are very bright now, which was a weakness.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I see. This one Asian guy on RUclips (not fomo) said something about using the QD oled as a monitor and you’d see something wrong with the text. I didn’t quite get it tho. But yea I think QD oled is better than w-oled, but I think I’d get a mini-led instead cause of the brightness and the colors shine. I got the u8k in mind but now I’m thinkin bout the qm8
@Animejook what he's saying is that as a monitor, it may struggle with 4:4:4 chroma sub sampling which wouldn't hurt image quality or graphics but text ( not in game) may be fuzzy or have slight noise . I wouldn't use an oled for production or work anyway. As a gaming monitor it's amazing
It’s very hard to ignore the similarities (in my eyes) in performance and price difference of the QM8 against the top name oled panels. Right now as of today the QM8 is on sale for $1,099…
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY QM8-65 vs X93L is the price difference worth it? I’m a quality guy but I’m also sensible with my money when it’s called for. Though I also don’t mind investing if it worth it. Would have loved to see how the x93L matches up in this battle of miniLED. In the market for a 65 in and I keep switching between TCL/Hisense/Sony. From what I've watched, out of these 3 Hisense appears to have the better sound quality and motion processing than the TCL.

Which tv has better Processing / better motionflow- Hisense U7K or TCL Qm8?
The warmth and detail of the Sony is pretty tough to beat. The scenes with the ripples in the water have so much more detail on the Sony and LG as compared to the TCL and Hisense. That G3 is pretty incredible but is just a tiny bit cool for me. The saturation of it and the Sony were pretty good but the sunsets with the pinks/purples being over saturated by the Sony was interesting to see. Edit: after watching further into the video it sounds like the tint is slightly skewed on camera for some reason.
I would like to see a out of the box review of tvs without any calibration. That would be a interesting shootout. 😊
Outstanding comparison demo, thanks!
My pleasure, Ken!! Thank you so much for watching!
It would be nice to see a video on the calibration for the individual TVs. I own the U7K and would love the settings the correct calibration.
Owner of a 100" hisense u76. Incredible value at $1999 what i paid. Picture quality is incredible.
G3 baby!
yesssss
I'll see if I can get those numbers for you and I'll see what LG has to say
I appreciate your vids and feedback Brian. Tnx
My pleasure! I truly appreciate you watching
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY This vid convinced me to get the u7k for the family room. I have an C2 in my main viewing room

Hi Brian nice meeting you at MWave. This is Chris tall big local guy. Agreed Sony 95 and LG G3 were easily top of class.
Excellent comment Chris! It was an absolute pleasure meeting you! Thank you for watching.
U7k is surprisingly holding up well against the very expensive models. To be compared with Sony and lg is not an easy feat to achieve. Tcl is rocking as always. Got the u7k but very tempted to get the u8k but can't justify the $500 price difference.

I'm wondering this to now that he has spent time with the qm8 I'm still so torn between the 85" qn90b amd the tcl qm8🤔😩
I qm8 and love it !! Go for 85!

I am waiting fore the Sony A95. LED no burn in issues good 👍
I am thinking between getting U7K 65 inch and TLC 65C845 in end of the March 2024.
Excellent comment and anylsis my friend. Thank you for watching
Got my 77” G3 wall mounted today and I can definitely say it lives up to the hype! I can see why HDTVtest, AVForums, WHATHIFI and FlatpanelsHD have given it the “Best in Class” Awards. It is stunning!
Excellent! So very glad you are loving it!
@@michaelbeckerman7532 That is called heat dissipation; meaning heat is effectively transferred from the tv
A95k looks much better this time but G3 still wins best picture.
Agreed!

I'm stuck once again between the Sony 75x95L....Samsung 77c90c QN 90c....please help me out....I'm in the UK
The 77" Samsung 90C takes the win for overall picture quality, size and gaming features
I'm in the UK, looking forward to the reviews, I've decided to get the 75x95L a replacement for my rather disappointing Sony 75x90j....
The price for 65inch is £2k atm which is not bad but only if we get the full specs X95L not the last year’s specs of X95K
If anyone can confirm if that’s the case I’ll be very grateful.
This is the only thing that holds me back to get the x95L.
I want the QD-OLED but I’m worried of burn in.
You should see a massive improvement

Perfectly said
Great job once again and which, out of the four would you recommend just to watch movies and sometimes television show?
Keep up the great job ! 😎👍
A95K... Easily.
Probably the first question to answer is what's your budget and what TV size are you looking for?
@@BrandonBaecker ok thanks I don’t have a budget ! 😎👍
@@HPMIKE55 if you're getting 55-77 inch, and you're not gaming, my picks would be Samsung S95C (unless you want Dolby Vision), LG G3, or Sony A95K depending on your personal preferences.

Very good comment my friend. Thank you for watching
So that purple like tint isn't there in person on a95k?

Hello, I have the TCL 85 inch and I would love to calibrate it and he any suggestions TV is in the dark basement
Not A95K. consider A95L ?

That tint is only on camera my friend and only because it's filmed with the others. It's only in certain scenes and doesn't look like that in person. Thank you for watching
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Do you recommend me to wait for a95l or go for g2? I always use my pc on the tv.

@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY yes QD oled is nice, but too expensive and also the dimness. Well compared to an led, it’s not as bright
