I tied my leather work shoes with these about a year ago but one side needed to be undone to clean it. I walked around with the normal knot for a week which kept on slipping and made everyday feel just a bit worse than it ahould be. Then i recalled that i learnt it from this youtube video and searched for it in my history and voila, I have perfectly tied shoes again. I'm saving this in my permanent bookmarks to forever treasure the knowledge that I will definitely use, albeit only a handful of times in my life seeing how secure it is. Thank you for teaching us this!
This works so good I love the technique all the other videos were just to complicated but this is so quick and easy I just love it for so much I’ve been struggling for sooooo long this was just the video I needed this deserved a sub
I have to write a comment because I tried this on my extremely active 5 year old’s runners and they stayed put all day long. Didn’t even budge. I got a pair of runners as his feet are in between sizes right now and those half sizes are hard to get sometimes. Saw a pair on sale, ordered, and I was so disappointed when I received the shoes and realized they had laces. But now I feel confident sending him to school in them! Thank you 🙏
That's similar to a Berluti knot which is what I use on my work boots(has squared leather laces) and hiking boots which are laced with safety cord. I use them on my low top Converse too cause the knot is flat and comfortable
Chris, not sure of you run but how is the bernuli knot for running? Ive been doing the know in this vid has never let me down, i found another vid that call it the "ians secure knot".
Thank you! I was always making just a double knot, but for one Adidas shoes it just does not work. This one solved the problem, and all I had to do is just pass second bow tie loop in the opposite direction.
Oh, I see. Yes, I haven’t tried that particular brand, but I have lock laces on my hiking shoes. A little different in design, but basically the same idea as far as setting them once then never having to mess with them. These Hickies look cool.
I have a stalker/hater. Him and his idiot son thumb down my videos. Like children. I honestly wouldn’t expect less from them though. Very low class people.
@@Col_MULLY - One day they will get it back! Poor people with not much brain. If I don't like somebody I would not subscribe and not watch his/her videos.
The same result can be done by doing the overhand section with the bights twice, but switching sides may have it dress a bit better. Another way of looking at it is basically the difference between a square knot and a surgeon's knot. (With shoe laces one side of the knot is replaced with a pair of bights.)
It’s painfully obvious that you did not watch this video more than the first few seconds. If you go back and watch all the way through I believe you’ll change the tone of your comment.
I think now that I was doing the knot wrongly for about 59 years!
Thank you, Tomoko and Mully, for teaching me how to do it better.
Awesome video!
That's awesome to hear, Frederick!!

Be sure to teach him only this method. It's a little more complicated, but will serve him well in the long run.
Thanks … it works perfectly… earlier my laces got undone every 15-20 mins … now I am relieved…

Finally I found the video that actually works!!! Thank you! I tried so many other videos, where my shoes got still untied.
True words👍
Sorry for the late reply. I'm really glad this worked for you. Are you still using this method? Hope you see this and get back to me.
Will give this a try, work boots with double knot always coming loose. Hopefully this fixes that 😇. Thanks for the tip
Good luck! If you see this let me know how it works for you.

This is so cool-I’m using this method from now on! Thank you both so much, Col. Mully and 智子さん。私の日本語はペラペラ話せないけど、長年北陸に住んでいたから、日本語でもお礼を言いたいです!
You’re very welcome.
This is what I use, and it works *almost* all the time but I've had it come undone when I didn't pull tightly.
Thanks for saving for my life. You are Batman

Does it really work with these strings?
For sure. Give it a try. Money back guaranteed. Although, it was free so there's that. Trust me though, it works like a charm with these strings.
@@Col_MULLY sorry i meant to ask if it really works with only these strings. Because I don't have these types on any of my shoes
Thank you!

Don't let you meat loaf! 🤣
This style of knot is known as the Berluti Knot, after an aristocratic family who had a tradition of using it.
Testuję SUPER miłego dnia 💓
I was told laces should not be double tied incase the foot gets hurt and shoe needs removing quickly

I have a knot that’s better ;) my dad Thought but this knot looks good too
