- This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Kent & East Sussex railway in 1974. The two-day gala to celebrate consisted of the home fleet in addition to multiple visiting locomotives including U class 31806 on the K&ESR and 66718, 73128 & 70000 “Britannia” from the mainline on the Rother Valley Railway, running passenger trains for the first time in over a decade!
Firstly, I saw 70000 “Britannia” & 73128 “Kent and East Sussex Railway” working the shuttle service at three different lineside locations near Robertsbridge Junction station on the Rother Valley Railway, with the shuttles departing roughly every 15 minutes! I then saw 66718 on the newly restored turntable from Hither Green!
After having spent around 2 hours at the Rother Valley Railway, I then chose to get on the free shuttle bus to Bodiam to begin spotting lineside on the K&ESR at various locations, including: Northiam Station, Rolvenden station, Orpins Crossing, Tenterden Station, a foot crossing near Tenterden and finally Cranbrook Road crossing! Enjoy!

I was on the train with a friend yesterday. Lunch of fish and chips included. Recommended to all. It's a fun day out and all run by happy, friendly people.

excellent shots👍 i went in that field nr rolverden station on the last gala also filmed at tenterden station hope they bring Britannia and 73128 back to tonbridge together like In the beginning of your video
Thanks. Unfortunately that won’t happen as the 73 and 66 are due to come back this evening and Britannia is due tomorrow morning

Is 76017 a full time resident there now?
Not sure believe it might be all I know is it only arrived earlier this year so I’d like to think it’s stay for a while
