- In this video we visit The Crewe Heritage Centre. Watch on as we go in the cabs of both the APT and HST. We also look inside a signal box and check out lots of other locos including a 37, 47 and 87.

She is some real eye candy. And the trains are ok. Lol you know I mean that in the right way I say it because no matter what my wife does not want to make an appearance in my vids but you have a ‘gal’ who is both breathtaking and takes an active interest in railways and that’s something really special. Keep up the great work guys and see you in the next one.
Well what can I say! 😂😂
brilliant video guys... Pauline the signal person excellent
Thanks Neil, we really enjoyed the day, a nice mix of things to see and do. All the best Rick
Glad you enjoyed your day out, i'm the persaon who restores/ looks after the HST, APT, 91.
Thank you for all your hard work, we did indeed have a great day out. 😀
Talk about ‘old’, my first visit to Crewe was fifty years ago with my cousin when the 87s were being introduced. I remember one or two of them brand new in a siding there.
I can't remember when I first went to Crewe as a kid but my earliest train related memory is a visit to York. All the best Rick
Great video guys, we must get round to visiting it sometime this year. Thanks for sharing. Steve.
Cheers Steve it's definitely worth a visit.
Hi guys, a great video. I,d really like to visit there, it looks brilliant. All the best guys. Carl.
Hi Carl, it's a nice day out and they have quite a few events there. Cheers Rick
Very good video looks like a great day out and an ice-cream can't be beat thanks for sharing 👍
You're welcome and thanks for watching.
That was very cool. The visit to the APT was the highlight for me. Thanks for a brilliant visit! The other areas and layouts were cool, as well, but for me, that was a fully new experience, even if a vicarious one! Thanks for the take-along!
Thanks Anthony, you will love next week's video which is a trip on the North Norfolk Railway behind a 9F loco. All the best Rick.
Fantastic video and what a great day out. Love the signal box work 😊👍 So much to see and do 👍👍
Cheers for watching Dave.
Love class 66 and 68s on this vlog. Thanks one of your best.
Thanks Steve.
What a great day. Weather super and the locomotives are superb. Such a good thing that they exist . Signal box action as well. An often forgotten yet important part of the railway. Super video. Thanks for sharing your time out. Keep safe.
Cheers for watching Paul, it was a scorcher and not much cooler in the signal box. All the best Rick.
I love the way Pauline was totally confused once the offer of an ice-cream had been made ..lol. Great vidsguys, thank for posting. Take care both x
Thanks for watching, nice that they do trains as well as ice cream 🍦🍦
I love Crewe heritage centre it's a great place. Looks like you both had a good day out thank you for sharing.
Hi Deano, this was our third visit but our first for a few years so a few things had changed. All the best Rick
Looks like you had a great day out 🙂🙂 I'd love to go there for the HST and APT
Cheers for watching.
Another great video seeing the apts and signal boxes thanks
Thanks Caroline
Plan to visit the Crewe Heritage Centre looks to be a great place and being a HO modeler here in the UK really want to look at the NMRA HO Layout 😀
You won't be disappointed!
I’ve been wanting to visit this centre for some time. Looks great. Great video as always. Thank you
Cheers Bob it's definitely worth a visit.
Hi Pauline and Rick, great tour of the HST! What shows will you be at over the next month? Also Rick please control Pauline flashing her bare shoulders😊😊😊. It is defo to warm for those shoulders in Crewe!
Lol we are at the Llangollen toy fair in a couple of weeks. After that I think we are at Leyland. I will post a definitive list on our Facebook group and the RUclips news feed. Cheers Rick
I'm going to pay this place a visit before Christmas 🎄 2023
You won't be disappointed!
I was there that day too. Lovely day out, amazing weather and met some cool people. Shame you missed filming Flying Scotsman pulling a railtour down the Holyhead line. It was spectacular.
Hi, yes we missed the Scotsman but the weather made up for it! Thanks for watching Rick
I had a British Rail sandwich and survived. Also a cup of brown liquid, I think they called it coffee
Well done Harry it's always good to hear a survivors story. You deserve a medal. 😂😂
Remember a visit to Vrewe eorks late seventies, the were buildin HST power cars st the time.
Shame about the APT, the technology of the time was still in its infancy hence the failures, looked great in action when it ran.
Very different fortunes for this pair of trains. Thanks for watching Rick.
Cool video thanks lee
Thanks Lee
Don't get too close to the British Rail pre-packed sandwich it's still marked as " freshly cut " and it will take your fingers off if you touch it.
Yeah those sandwiches are as good as new!
In the cab of the HST, That's the AWS sunflower indicator you pointed at.
Excellent info thank you. 😀
That APT looks really small inside with those angled walls.
Hi Ivo it felt cramped compared to the HST. Cheers Rick
The 80s....decade of the 37s.. 40s, 45s, the 47s.... 85 to 87s....the 50s,...when trains were trains.
great video
Thinking of visiting Crewe Heritage Centre same day as non event day visit to Nantwich; need to avoid Crewe / Nantwich during the Crewe station rebuilding for HS2! I think Nantwich Road is being 'sat on' by its owners as it's in the HS2 compensation zone; Crewe Alexandra FC is probably sitting on HS2 money as well...
I hope your visit goes smoothly! Thanks for watching Rick
how many crashes happened while you were in charge of the signal box leavers lol
Luckily there was a train strike. 😂
So what train did you both come in to crewe on a 390 avanti my faverate or a class350 crewe is my faverate station love the vid like to know what you came in on think 390 avanti.
On this occasion we came by car. Sorry lol
Cannot believe some joker named a loco Beechings Legacy, if I had my way the name should have been on 46009 before it was sent into the nuclear flask... That said, the real villain was Beeching's boss, Transport minister Ernest Marples, who wanted roads not rail. Nothing to do with him owning a road building firm, Marples Ridgway?!
I know it beggars belief doesn't it, however I refuse to believe that a politician would give a family member a government contract..........😂😂😂😂
Who’s bright idea was it to name a loco after beeching? Loosing money due to tory stats. Whatever you want to believe really
I know! It was guaranteed to start a debate, maybe it was intentional? Thanks for watching Rick
