    I wanna know whose only paying just over 1% on property taxes. My house in northwest Gainesville is closer to 2%. 😥

    The gator thing in Florida has always fascinated me. I live in southeast Texas in a rural neighborhood where there are gators. We never see them just crossing the street here but I've seen so many videos from Florida of GIGANTIC alligators being pulled out of neighborhood ponds, or videos of them walking down the street like they just left an appointment with a tax auditor.

    Today is one of the best days of my life. I packed up my stuff into a Uhaul trailer and left Gainesville for good. Even if I die on the way to my new home across the country, at least I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that I escaped that hot, humid void of a city as I slip into death.

    Is kirkwood a good area to live in?

    • @LivinginGainesvilleFlorida
      @LivinginGainesvilleFlorida  15 дней назад

      Kirkwood has some nice homes, mainly built from the 50's to 80's. If you're looking for something with a decent size lot but close to UF and Shands it could be a good option.

    I don’t know where you got the idea that groceries are cheaper here. I have compared the cost of milk, bread and eggs (the cheapest Publix options) to the same in at least 5 other cities (including Manhattan) and we come in at least $2 more than the next most expensive (which was Manhattan). You have to go out of your way to shop generic at Walmart to get close to what the rest of the country is paying for food staples.

      It will range but most of the quotes I see are between $2,000 and $3,000. Thanks for watching!

      I had a 2/2 1570 sq ft with a brand new roof and right before I sold it my premium had been raised to $3600. I bought property in Michigan and use the proceeds to rent here. My brother lives in Orlando and he’s forgoing insurance after Farmers pulled out and his best quote was 10k. I will never own property in Florida again.

    My whole family left . Liberals and the university did all of these negative things you mentioned . It’s a closed society of very clickish people . The crime is so high because the people vote the way they do. Gainesville is like a little slice of California with similar crime

    The cost of utilities, the basic necessities needed for human survival in most regions of the U.S., is a disgrace given how much CEO salaries keep going up each year.
