So do NOT get UDP pulleys. They are NOT made out of steel (hold a magnet to them) the reason they are so light is because they are aluminum pulleys. And if you just do a little bit of research you will find that aluminum pulleys and their springs cannot withstand the pressure this thing gets put under when it spinds thousands of times per minute. Its not if they break but when they break and once they break they grenade through the engine bay causing serious damage. The only way to go is find hardened steel pulleys and those are rare to find and cost more. But it beats what an aluminum supercharger pulley will do to your car. 2) I tried them all Eurochahred, RaceIQ, UDP...their tubes do not compare to V-Tech in Georgia. Best price, biggest gains and safe. I dare everyone who has a RaceIQ or Eurocharhed tune to get the V-Tech Georgia (the country not the state) tune and your car will feel like an entirely different vehicle. Dont take my word for it, research it on the various forums both mercedes and Crossfire SRT6 (same engine) and subsequent facebook forums.
The washer you call is a shim and you will need to either remove it or get a smaller size so that you maintain the correct gap between the pulley and the solenoid that pulls the clutch pulley in and engages it. If the gap is too big you can get clutch slipping. Check out MB world forum on this I don’t remember the correct gap but what you can do is put the old pulley back on and measure the gap with feeler gauges to get the correct gap size.
Thanks for pointing that out! I didn’t know about that until I had RaceIQ inspect it and I needed to reduce the gap size so I ended up taking the shim off but still not too close it a little bit but .5 was what I ended up with. .28-.32 would be perfect tho
Means the pulley is garbage and they don't know how to manufacturer pulleys. It's just a money maker to them cause that thing if not gapped correctly will cause damage.
C32 in the house! Stock up on out of production parts like water pump. I think tensioner and pulley are also C32 specific. These parts are getting very hard to find.
I thought I heard about something like this before! Wow I should probably buy these parts and keep before it’s too late. And yes!! C32 in the house
@@HeyboysGarage This being said, C32 is a lot easier to make hp than my C55. Any thoughts on converting to CLK front end? C55 has more presence for having CLK nose.
@@encinobalboa I do want to upgrade the headlights like the C55 or CLK headlight. And that should give it that front end look right
@@HeyboysGarage One more item to look at is the steering rack. I think 2005-07 W203 Sport got a quicker rack than the 2001-04 cars. Not sure what the C32 had but definitely worth looking into, IMO. Cheers, buddy! Keep up the great content!!
