[ONEPLUS 7T REVIEW]
I tested it. I talked to it. I shot it. I shot with it. I even broke it. The only thing I didn’t do with one of last year’s most important Android phones … was review it.
While it’s not the budget gangbuster of the sort that made its maker famous ... if you’re shopping Androids at the top of 2020, the OnePlus 7T should still be near the top of your list. Join me for the long-delayed OnePlus 7T Review!

Icon pack: LineX
setup is a vibe itself! Great video
The OnePlus 7 pro from T-Mobile is $450 which is still a good value device despite being almost 8 months old
Hmmm......
Thanks MrMobile..
I've actually been using the LineX icon pack, switching between that and the monochrome-ish white variant
“Don’t buy a piece of technology based on promises about tomorrow. Buy it because about what it can do today!” -probably the best quote to mobile technology ever!
Yep 💯 I agree
That's how I got a lot v20
Google Pixels like to disagree
As long as you can afford changing them like tech RUclipsr's.
One of the best quotes for mobile devices one can get
Thanks for having me on dude!
Can you keep the same format for video on davinci resolve for the one plus like fcp?
Has this been resolved on an update?
Hey yo
Long term reviews like this are great. It's good to know how phones hold up 'After The Buzz'
A pocketnow subscriber .. nice ...
Heh. Best series title I ever came up with. :)
Its not 'holding up', it's Overkill even now
@@TheMrMobile im gettin a 7t instead of 8 after this..
@@shikharpriyadarshi3537 overkill is better because of durability. I had the galaxy s7 that was overbuilt for its time and finally retired service after samsung discontinued support and battery damage

He should change that signature line to "stay at home, my friends".

@@TransparentlyDuplicitous he did. Jeez, no consistency at all Mr mobile. Hehe

Watching this on my 7T. Easily the best phone purchase decision I made, everything about it is so fast and smooth. OxygenOS is well optimized, lightweight while still retaining useful features. The only things it's lacking are wireless charging and 3.5mm jack.
I also love the alert slider, I wish more phones had it.
How do you handle the 6.55-inch display? Do you have really big hands?
Still using my LG G6 with a headphone jack.
@@IPendragonI Sadly still using the G6 too, but it's a painful experience on my side!
@@cubiq1 its almost the same length as a 16:9 5.5 inch phone and you can imagine the size of the op 7t by trying to reach the top of the phone
You get a like for having Stocking as pfp
Michael’s review is as smooth and buttery like OnePlus’s Oxygen OS ❤️😍
@Black Hole I appreciate your opinion, but you should respect his opinion too by not posting contradictory comment.
Happy quarantine, Cheers.
Yes I agree he is super cool guy and his videos are so well made and pleasant to watch, you would watch it just for the pleasure even if you are not interested in the product.
IOS still more smooth.
@@brokeguy5607 yea the only good thing about it
@@brokeguy5607 No it is not. At least not until they jack up the refresh rate on their phones. 60Hz is laggy and terrible. iPads on the other hand are the smoothest things ever.

Thankfully oneplus 8 pro will have 35 wireless charging so there is that
That's why they are already working on it. 'Cause when it got released, mate 30 pro was only leaks
They said that many ppl didnt want it so they cut it to save costs. And me and like 95% of the ppl think the same. Btw, this is a phone from last gen dont forget that

Nahh..no google services...wtf!!
Still using my 6t over a year later and its just as quick as when I took it out of the box
Most consistent phone I've ever owned. Just does everything (that matters) well. Camera, Software, Speed, Battery ✅
People say the battery life is 4 hr sot is that true
Voltage nope got 5 hrs on heavy usage gaming and youtube
You can play RUclips in small picture mode while playing a game. They also might be using 90hz, and if the game supports it, will use a lot of energy,
Besides, under heavy use, 5 hours is great. There is not many times where you will have free time for 5 hours of RUclips/Games without being close to a power source
Software is a shame c'mon forums.oneplus.com/threads/stuttering-frame-skip-while-scrolling-oxygen-10-bug-on-all-7t-7tpro-7pro.1148402/
Battery is not so good, op 7 was so better
@@anakiru3438 Battery life is worse because the CPU is overclocked. If you downclock it your battery life will return, and possibly be better then the OP 7.
“The tech that can do what you want it now rather waiting for a update (promise).”
I don't understand why reviewers are so obsessed with cameras. It's like we're watching the same review over and over. Oneplus will never be good at photos, deal with it! you're not buying a oneplus for it's camera the same way you don't buy an iphone for it's customisation or a samsung for it's software and updates or a Huawei for it's google services 🤣🤣🤣
Another awesome video. One of the tech reviewers that actually reviews a product and doesn’t just do a fancy specs over view.
Excellent review 👍
They really need to fix that video thing because the quality was incredible when you corrected it.
Maybe an update can do it?
Those are some of the best colors I’ve seen from a phone, iphone included.
Love this kind of long term review. Stay Safe & Stay Home MrMobile
I loved his intro of the After the Buzz series in Pocketnow!
Watching on my 7t blue, super phone, doesn't matter of 3.5 m jack, still we can get connector and it works good
Heyyyyy captain Mobile I just saw you in an old auto trader video, that’s so cool. Just wanted to say hi and am I fan of your channel and persona lol. Keep up the great videos.
Love mine, and happily upgraded from the 6T which I also loved. Underrated - the MUCH improved haptics from the 6T. I no longer feel like I'm typing on an empty box filled with springs. Great work here as always Michael and I may have to grab one of those Tech21 joints with sweet color buttons too.
That "just around the corner" makes me feel that you guys already got the phone and in testing period! Can't wait :D
Was the video conversion fixed?
Nope
7:11-7:14 From what I've looked at, it DOES use software to kinda do some guesswork but there are also pictures of the phone's front display where what appears to be an IR light around the right closer to the center, between where the play button and next vid button would be for RUclips in portrait orientation. Teardowns of the phone too show that there are two small holes in the midframe showing the display layer as well which tells me that it most likely uses that hardware anyways but it doesn't go through since there's a honkin' screen in front of it.
Not even mad about the late review. Honestly I wish there were more late reviews (or at least updates) on phones, since phones get changes in software over time, and the UX can change. Also it's nice to see older phones compared to newer ones sometimes.
Hey I bought it on launch and I have absolutely 0 regrets, I love this phone way too much and considering my OnePlus 5 has found a new home in my dad's pocket because it's still good I'm really hoping this phone stays with me for the long run.
Got mine for a few months now and i am unbelievable happy with this one. The lack of a headphone jack was not great but with Bluetooth headphones it's the best combo i can imagine atm.
I was already used to the Galaxy Buds back when I had an LG V30, even though that phone had a headphone jack and a quad DAC. I now have the oneplus and don't miss the headphone jack 👍😁
@@mihneaburada5864 i will miss it, but bought a dongle and i guess ill be fine
I bought an adaptor/splitter for about 5€. I can't use Warp charging but still can charge and use headphones at the same time.
Hey Mike............great review! My sister and uncle both have this phone, and are pretty happy with it! I think you hit all the main points, and the part at the end about how you hold the phone during a call is great to know too. I think I noticed that issue too back when I had the 6T (I currently have the Galaxy Note 10+ now). Hopefully OP gets wise and fixes this issue for the 8 or 8T this year.
Damn Michael that sponsor shot of the case was clean! Was great to see Danny in a video too! 😁
"Smells like a teen spirit" feelings in the intro sound theme...I liked it.
My OnePlus 3 is still holding up surprisingly well after about 4 years of heavy use. These phones last longer and feel snappier than any other Android phone I've owned!
Using a custom ROM?
What's considered heavy use, bud?

how to fix color ,covert rec2020 to rec709 in Windows? I dont have final cut pro [mac] I only have AE and Veges pro13 bro.
I really interested in 1+ 7T but it has the main problem lol. which i choose 7T or S10 Lite? Thanks a lot
Michael, what is this software that you use at 1:46 where you can highlight in color?
I have been waiting for this review for so long. I absolutely love OnePlus phones. My first phone was the OnePlus 1. I am currently using the 6t. Gonna buy the next OnePlus phone after 2 years. Let the smartphones develop nicely, and I will get a well developed, amazing camera OnePlus.
Hmm
@Anindya I managed to use it for 2-3 years. After that I got the OnePlus 3t as a gift so I switched to that.
@Anindya pair it with a decent custom ROM and it should be just fine besides the heating issue when gaming or process intensive tasks
Been using the OnePlus 7T for a week, loving it!
Awesome video MrMobile! I really like the style of your videos. Thanks for all of the valuable information.
does the ultrawide shoots 4k?
does the tele shoots 4k?
can you change lenses while video shooting?

You review sums up really precisely what I'm feeling with my 7T. It's the best phone I ever had, very consistent, extremely fast and reliable, and you notice the quality as soon as you take it in your hands.
Hi Michael, great video and review, always liked your videos and was reading/watching your videos since your days at pocket now :)
Can you or someone please tell me which icon pack or launcher you're it looks awesome!
I miss my 6t mostly for the battery life and perfect interface IMO. If they release a smaller version at some point I'll definitely go back to them.
Just got a k20 pro and man I want that 7 pro, dat OIS and 3x telephoto! Gcam can cover the rest
Saw a Gcam on a OP and the OP camera was better.😂
6:25 That was a really cool shot!
Indeed !
Thanks! As with most nice shots, it came about by accident. :)
@@TheMrMobile Don't be modest. You're a really skilled person.
I love mine too! It fell out of my back pocket within the first month though. Was sitting in a chair and, being the very tall phone it is, slipped out onto the floor. Cracked the back like crazy.
Now I'm covering the cracked glass with the pack-in OEM case, but the cracks have still spread and become much worse. Yikes! Those Tech21 cases look nice though. Miiiight grab me one!
But yes, great phone. I came to it from Moto Z2 Play seeking uncompromised performance. The phone does not disappoint, and the bugs have mostly been whittled away by the updates.
Can't believe I just saw this channel. One of the bests reviews I watched so far. I subscribed seconds after the video started. 😁
Watching on my Oneplus 7T ♥️.
How convenient, just got hands on mine two days ago. And I just love it.

Thanks for sharing the bug. I thought I'm the only one experiencing calls getting cancelled and muted.
Nice video 👍
Great review! My OG Pixel XL is on its deathbed I believe, so I've started looking for an inexpensive replacement. The 7T seems to tick off all the boxes for me in that respect.
I recommend you to stay like me with Pixels so let's buy the 4 XL 300$ off at this time 🤗

Giving another RUclipsr much more than just a cameo in your review - yet another example of Michael's gentleman nature. Thumbs up. And stay safe, my friends.
As always, a great review!
I use tech 21 cases and yes, they are quality AF, I've dropped my phone a few times and no damage at all
Arturo Sanchez - the website only shows cases for oneplus 6. It doesn’t look like they have cases for 7T.
Writting from an 5 months 7T, best phone I've bought yet.
Been using this phone for 4 months now and it's absolutely awesome. First Oneplus phone and I'm not at all disappointed. Keep up the good work. Cheers.

We need s10 plus review now!!
What's the launcher you are using for lineX icon pack?
My 7t's screen turns on while on calls! I've tried multiple forums for help but to no avail. Hoping for some help out here 🙏
If I didn't enjoy my Google Pixel 3a, I SO would've gotten this 7t.
I have a friend with the 3a and he is complaining that the phone has slowed down a lot over use. Is that your experience also? If so then its something else to factor into the price battle between the 3a and OP7T
@@cpaps8500 OnePlus 7t is simply a better phone than a 3a but the camera of OnePlus is just not good in my experience , too over saturated and not even close to any pixels. If you're a camera guy just pick the pixel , else pick OnePlus
I have a 3a XL and it's still running smoothly, but YMMV
@@RajShekhar-jy2zi you can just install GCam since camera api is enabled
@@cpaps8500 The 7t has better hardware but I like the smaller size of my 3a. I only use it for social media and texting/whatsapp so Im a very light user. No games and No RUclips/Netflix used on my phone so my experience with it is super smooth because I never push my 3a to its limits. In U.S.A. the Pixel 3a sells for $300-$350 versus the 1+ 7t that is $500 so you pay for what you get in a way. Either phone is much better than any other midrange Android I'd say.
I Like Backside Camera Design!!! Full Middle Round. Look Sophisticated!!! 😍😍😍
@Anindya did you found any of her comments on Nokia's video... People there days just wants to fight on one topic or another.

Mike thankyou for another great video refreshing and lifted my spirits during this epidemic .
OnePlus is doing a give away any advice on video I have to do to standout against the competition
I'm glad you've finally made this review
I checked out my friends OnePlus 7T and I honestly found the camera to be subpar. I personally don't think its acceptable to have a camera that bad at this price point
True, camera is disappointment considering the price
Just install gcam and all camera problems get solved
So get a phone with lower specs by far in every category for a little bit better camera performance.
What is the icon pack you have at 0:16?
LineX or LineBit
Yeah I want to know that toooooo
Same hereee what is it
LineX icon pack
there is one called outline icons that looks better
My Xperia XZ3 does the same thing with accidentally muting yourself during calls. There's a big thread over on the Sony forums about the issue, and most chalk it up to a bad proximity sensor that doesn't always turn off the screen allowing your cheek to press on the mute button. Unfortunately, I've just had to get used to checking this whenever people start acting like they can't hear me (happens about 50% of the time I'm on a call), or if I remember to, manually hitting the power button to turn off the screen before I start talking.
My brother got my dad the 6T around the time the 7 came around. And he loves it. He went from the Nexus 6P to this. And it's still getting updates while my S8+ isn't
I am using 7 pro and oxygenOS is probably the best software on a smartphone that i have ever used.
I disagree, I have used oneplus phones , software is great, but after using the pixel, I'll put oneplus in second place
@@Pumakansado Pixel is great too because it comes from the manufacturer of Android, but for me it's just too much compromise for a better camera and a bit better software.

Mr mobile can u address the fact that samsung sells the s20 series with Exynos and snapdragon chips but the snapdragon versions are noticeable better... I fel like i am scammed lol
They've been doing that for a few years. Other manufacturers do it too, the US gets a Snapdragon variant and other places get a different SoC. While the s20 is the first time the difference in performance has been this noticeable between the snapdragon and exynos, that doesn't make it a scam.

Picked one of these up a few weeks ago to replace my aging note 9. Love it other than your honest 2 complaints. Camera isn't the best, and the face detection is definitely eh. My other complaint is the Bluetooth menu sucks. It doesn't ask what devices it wants you to pair it with.
