Great video! I’m a fan of the Sailor Fude De Mannen 55 degree, the green one. Lots of line variation in the normal orientation plus a nice fine line when reversed.
Loved your video and seeing which pens you use. Kaweco and LAMY pens are my favorite. The green one is on my list to get one day. TWSBI, however, I just can’t seem to get into. I have had bad luck with them. Thanks for sharing! ❤
My favourite pens are twsbi pens. I use a twsbi go for my waterproof ink and I use de atramentis document ink in black. I started with fountain pens for the same reason as you, I really disliked how fast fineliners ran out of ink, or the tip wore out. The interest in fountain pens and inks escalated a little bit and I now have 12 fountain pens and maybe 15 inks. I used to do calligraphy with dip pens before so I have those too, nibs and handles. I try not to gather too many things. Now when I have found pens I really like I will sell some of the ones I don’t reach for as much. I enjoyed this video a lot. Thank you for sharing. ❤

I'm now convinced I wouldn't get on with a Lamy Safari (like TWSBI's they appeal to me because I hear so much about them here on RUclips) but I definitely agree that pens don't have to be pricey to be completely suitable; it just depends what you like. There are so many nuances and peculiarities to fountain pens which I adore! For example, you don't like to post your cap perhaps because you have small hands, whereas I like to post them because I think they then become top heavy and that makes me work to control the weight and form shapes better. My Kaweco sport is almost too light for me... I only journal with my two pens, I don't draw with them and your video has got me thinking - why not? I always love hearing what art tools people are passionate about so thanks for sharing your collection with us!
Do you have a link for the Crow Quill? I cannot find it at Cheap Joe's? A huge difference with the "fancier" fountain pens is the nib. The gold nibs (not the gold plated) are so much smoother and responsive. If/when you can, I suggest buying one. There are good "Fancy" gold nib pens for around $200. I've used fountain pens since I was 8, and I'm now 65. I've had many *fancy* pens, up to $1000. (I've sold many of them by now). I have Kaweco, but don't personally like their nibs - too stiff and scratchy. I've seldom used Broad nibs (you refer to them as bold), but have never been a fan of them for a handwritten journal. My favorite for that is a stub nib - such as 1.1 or 1.5. If you didn't know, you can buy single Lamy nibs - so easy to swap out. Thumb/1st finger on either side of the nib and pull up. I also like the Lamy Joy, which is longer. Currently I use the TWSBI. Document Ink is waterproof, with a variety of colors. De Atramentis a good brand, at Goulet Pens. Also, while it has a steel (not gold), the TWSBI Diamond 580 is very good, my favorite TWSBI, even though I use the others. If you haven't used the TWSBI GO, give them a try - cheapest TWSBI. 18.99. I do like Lamy Safari but understand the issue with the grip. Just so you know, a Japanese fine is finer than a German (Lamy) fine.
It's a great writing pen, just not comfortable in my hand - wish I liked it more! And true, why I love the pilot fines so much!

You might like Lexington grey by Noodlers, it’s fantastic- cheap waterproof and the grey is a bit darker than a pencil and has lovely shading
