    Thank you very much for this! There's not much out there related to pushing off your right foot. I used to do this until I started doing it too early which caused a whole lot of issues 😢 that lead me to keep my right foot/leg static in the downswing and I lost about 20 yards in distance. Now I know when to push off and I'm getting my distance back. Watch out girls! I'm getting my swing sequence back! 😊

    Thanks Eric for a great video ! I only came across this instructional video recently and practiced it for a few sessions only at the range before my first actual game. My distances, accuracy and feel with all my clubs with this golf swing had dramatically improved when I took it to the course. Two thumbs up from me. Cheers, Ramsin.

    This push-off/extension in the follow-through is the hardest thing in the swing for me to incorporate, probably due to a raggedy trail ankle. But I’m gonna give it a good go, because I’m really looking to gain some more speed.

    Very good video. I have a tendency to push too early trying to generate power and end up fighting early extension as I push forward versus pushing off as I rotate. This seems to be the hardest part of the swing to correct after many years of fighting sliding and early extension. Thanks for the great tips.

    Hi Eric- Thanks so much for this video. I have two questions: a lot of teachers stress leading with the left side-especially to prevent right side dominance and the right side overtaking the swing. Can you comment on this vs this video? Also-If we are obviously trying to move the left hip out of the way during the downswing do you think the right hip rotating to where it is like it is hitting the ball (and therefore obviously moving the left hip around and back) is an acceptable thought? I am very right side dominant but was told that wouldn’t’ work to have a good consistent swing. Still-if using the right side the right way works that is the way I would prefer to go. Thanks

      Hey Jeff!
      1. Both left side and right side involved. There are WAY TOO MANY micro movements for someone to make a blanket statement like you mention above. Whos the player? What are their current mechanics? What needs to be adjusted? Thats too black/white to say left side vs right side.
      2. Yes
      3. No reason you cant be right side dominant
      Right side can work fine. Ive shot 65 many times with all right ride feels

    The most difficult part of pushing off the right leg is making sure I'm rotating and not sliding into the shot. Especially when I'm tired, or if I try to swing extra hard. Timing rules in this move. Good lesson. JM2C

    I have to make sure I shift a little bit and start to rotate my hips before I push off the right foot. If I don’t I sway.

    I am trying so hard to make this move. I slide and then turn. I think I really need to start the hip movement earlier then I think. I think

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 лет назад

      Yes....also find out if something is going on early that is causing the slide or not allowing you to rotate (steep shaft, pelvis location in backswing, etc. etc.) Could very well be a reason why it's hard!

    Can you comment on the connection between the feels for pushing off the right side and those from the upper body feels for more rotation video? It is hard for me to monitor both without “paralysis from analysis “!

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  6 лет назад

      Probably wouldn't be thinking about too much at once, but typically you would feel the rotation of the upper body first and then pushing off after....but those feels could be different for different people

    Which part of your right foot is pushing to help you turn please? Is it the balls of the feet, is it the balls and toes, is it just the pads of the toes? I usually have too much weight on the heel and find it very difficult to push off....

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  5 лет назад +1

      The entire inside part of foot.

    • @sevenoranges
      @sevenoranges 5 лет назад

      I assume that at impact the weight has significantly shifted to the left foot and the right foot can begin to rotate up to the finish on the toe after impact. To be able to prepare for the rotary motion after impact does the weight transfer from the entire part of the inside of the right foot (which is where it is as you mention) up the right foot to the front of the foot just before impact? One cannot be pushing using the entire inside of the right foot as well as turn the foot. I usually end up with a lateral move rather than a rotary one. Sorry I do not understand the sequence of pressure with regards to the right foot from the top of the backswing to the finish and appreciate your advice in explaining this.

    Pushing up not only adds speed using centrifugal force but an added benefit is that is squares the club for a greater distance and balls fly straighter. Eric, your videos helped me shoot a 76 this weekend at my local course and I could have done better but for a couple of missed putts. A suggestion for you is to number your videos so people can use your drills in order of importance as you see it. By far your backswing video is what changed my game. THANK YOU!!!!

      We are creating a membership site for that exact purpose. Organized learning...too hard to do that on RUclips right now as the aim is still to grow the audience on this platform which means topics will vary.

    Hey Eric - great video again.
    Can you help clear up some confusion I have? In this video you talk about pushing off of the right side. In other videos you talk about pressure shifting to the left side before the backswing is complete and with the left should staying down during transition.
    I am not sure how these two lessons work together, how should I push off of my right side when the pressure is already on my left?
    Thanks again!

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  6 лет назад +3

      Hey Joey,
      Thanks for the message.
      Therein lies the problem with RUclips. Hard to do structured learning with random videos multiple times each week. Thats why we designed Cogornogolf.com to try and structure things.
      You are pushing off the right to get the pressure to left. Ofcourse, feels will be different.
      Question-how do you push off if pressure is already left?
      Answer-how did the pressure get left in the first place?

    • @joeyarrazolo5227
      @joeyarrazolo5227 6 лет назад

      Eric Cogorno Golf holy crap, I have not been pushing off my right to get to my left, I have been feeling like I am falling onto my left side from top of the back swing. Trying to replicate a “surfing move” that I heard on AMG. I’m going to try to push off more.
