      Good point Joe. It shows it’s still raw, while still having good production value.

  • @EVMANVSGAS
    @EVMANVSGAS 3 года назад +47

    This looks delicious. I just have one question. Did you use the same marinade that the raw chicken was in to pour over at the end? If so this is a risky maneuver since the marinade needs to be brought up to temperature just like the chicken to make sure you don't get food poisoning from the raw chicken juice. Unless you flipped it back over for a min or so after putting it on to make sure it got up to 165F. A safer bet would be to reserve a small amount from the batch that never touched the chicken and pour that over it to add more flavor while grilling. Or you could bring the used marinade up near a boil before using it on the chicken.

    So the marinate sauce doesn't need to be flipped and cooked through?? I'm just concerned because it was marinating the raw meat, and Sam just pour them on top and kept cooking for about 2 mins...?

    • @LtFrankDrebin100
      @LtFrankDrebin100 3 года назад +2

      As soon as that marinade hits a 400° surface grill after about 30 seconds or so it’s definitely safe to eat.
      That thin layer of sauce will rise well up through the 170° safe zone very quickly and there’s nothing to worry about as far as food sickness.
      I’m SERVE-safe certified and borderline neurotic about food safety and I use the same move with grilled chicken marinades.

      Just make a little extra marinade to keep on the side for grill sauce. I'm so neurotic I worry about using the same tongs I place the chicken on the grill uncooked with to turn while cooking.

      @@ericcioffi7309 I'm the same way. I'll usually get them in the fire or oil, if I'm frying something. Even just using them on the first flip, when the top of the meat is still raw worries me.

      Oh wow!!! A challenge!! 🥳🥳
      1. Best option, cardamom
      2. Because it’s fresh and peppery, lemon zest and black pepper
      3. wouldn’t be a bad choice, but cilantro and black pepper should work also. This will give it an herby flavor that ginger doesn’t have, but cilantro does have that fresh bright flavor you’re looking for.
      Thanks for the fun challenge! 😁

    Here’s my issue (with virtually every cooking channel): I’m on a low sodium diet and there’s not a ton I see on channels like yours that caters to my lifestyle. I mean I basically have to do whatever I can to stay under 2000 mg of salt per day, or I may be in the ground a lot sooner than I’d like.
    So as a request: can we get some delicious low sodium recipes to mess around with?
