1. Awesome feature of the retractable screen. 2. I love love love the headlights. 3. The car looks so calm and inviting on the inside but is impressively aggressive.
Good review. Some thoughts from a recent buyer of a 2014 S6: first, the Sport package not only comes with a sport exhaust, but a torque-vectoring limited-slip diff that makes a WORLD of difference to handling. It will overdrive the outside rear tire on a turn and POWER through turns that a 2.5 ton vehicle has no business making. Also, the sport exhaust does add more punchy sound, especially in dynamic mode, but it is still really muted inside the car. Apparently that's down to an active noise cancellation system that is in the vehicle. I guess it makes sense for the luxury target audience. You can get other exhausts, including an Audi-endorsed Akrapovic titanium exhaust that sells for $8,000 or so. All in all a great car, and it really does pull like a train at any speed. Really enjoying owning it.
not sure if anyone cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother for the last few days :)
It's great to see cars like this actually being driven rather than being driven 5 miles a year. Cars are meant to be driven, and this guy drove the hell out of his Audi S6. So after 80k miles this Audi seems to be holding up better than a comparable BMW. The car still looks to be brand new and it runs great. No doubt it could go deep into 100k miles without any serious maintenance, obviously excluding the bogus service intervals given for cars like this. If the car is running fun there's no need to take it in for maintenance and get parts swapped out that have lots of life left in them.
The C7 S6 in my opinion is the best looking S6 in my opinion~ Such beautiful lines and shapes everywhere, and just a timeless design all throughout~ Current one is still great in my opinion, but nothing can beat the personality of that 4.0L biturbo V8 that's not in the current one, even though the 2.9L V6 in the current one is still a really good powertrain.
Not definitely my kind of fav car but it's quite a nice sport sedan with a huge V8 TT engine and sound like a supercar! Awesome interiors love the piano black trim but I'd prefer more carbon fiber.. nice leather seats tho! Nice explanation! ;-)
ATTENTION ALL S6 OWNERS: Seriously thinking of buying one of these and was wondering what the reliability of these are like? The one I'm looking at has full service history and 77,000kms. Its a 2013 model year. Also the wood trim is no where near as nice as the carbon fibre found in my desired car I've found for sale.
Not necessarily evidence of the carbon build up problem that plagued the V10 variant. Seeing black liquid coming out of the tailpipes is just water - which is naturally produced via combustion - mixing with carbon - which is naturally produced via combustion. More water will be produced if the engine is not at its ideal operating temperature; Matt was likely crunched for time and did not have the luxury of letting the S6 properly warm up. Which, for a high performance vehicle, can often be a little while, especially in cold weather. Guessing it was cold weather, as Matt was wearing a heavy wool coat. That all being said, fuuuuuuck Audi engines. AMG and M, by comparison, make far, FAR more reliable engines. My buddy, who drives like a grandma, has a 2013 S6 and had to do an engine out belt change. I, on the other hand, who drives like an asshole and is not always the best at routine oil changes, have a 2015 E63 wagon and have had zero mechanical issues. Audi engineers beautifully design engines to royally fuck their clients. Even the 3.0L Audi Q7 - a non-performance family SUV - is nightmares out of warranty. Fucking hate seeing friends and family lured into the trap that is VW group.
@@taylorm3560 all of them are nightmares outside of warranty but of them all the Benz is definitely the most reliable of the 3. BMW is iffy they have had some major fuck ups the last 10 or so years. Great review as always!! I just went today to see the new 2016 Acura ILX (which is VERY nice to drive) and I was wondering if it was worth to take a look at audi (definitely not this one) and mercedes to compare??
Hey SWF! Been watching your videos for ever and I think you do a great job at reviewing! I was wondering if you could try to do a review for a 2013 BMW 335i or 328i?
Finally, a sedan. 🙂 But next reviews: Renegade with Fiat turbo, TrailBlazer SS, and if other cars comes to you, just keep at it. You're GOOD! 😀 Sweet S6; V10 model cooler.
ealiev60 All people that aren't interested in the car 😂, and assuming it hasn't been fully maintained and the book value isn't where it's priced. Typical commenters :-)
In Delaware we have AudiWorld. It is an independent service station that only deals with Audi's. When my 2013 A8L went over 45k I started bringing it there to be serviced. They are amazing. I called them to ask if my brakes had to be changed bc the dealer recommended them for 2k. They said I could wait and I driven 6 months with no brake light on so far. They also quoted me at 800 for brakes and rotors. Significant difference from the dealer so owning an older or out of warranty Audi is manageable here. I suggest to everyone to google Audi service in your area.
Yeah, I'd love to buy one of these new (if I were a rich man...) but 3 years old with 80,000 miles? No thanks, not even with a warranty. I do much prefer the analogue dials though, not everything needs to be LCD. The auto-shifting even in manual thing isn't good - maybe it's a setting somewhere?
So true I wouldn't touch a audi with 80k the only reason I bought mine was it had 20k on it with the factory warranty.. and I still have had to replace the whole dash due to th gauge cluster light going out..
Would be cool if you could incorporate comparing cars to there competition during the review, helps to give a number to these cars instead of them all just being good, awesome review though!
The next time you review another Audi, it should be a different color other than black (whether it's Brilliant Black, Phantom Black, Havanna Black, etc.) and you should thank one other besides Harrison Auto Sales for allowing you to review the Audi you can review sometime soon.
