Totally agree. Inspired by Aaron Copland's splendoring brass this guy completely assimilated the ghost of the teachings of Nadia Boulanger and for me also from the genious composer Lili Boulanger 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Ok, now let's be serious for a few seconds. He's got good training, a sufficient knowledge of composing techniques. But there's nothing realy new or personnal in his music. On the contrary, there's some clichés, and rather dull ideas here and there. His orchestration is academic and not particularly refined or subtle. I never heard anything by Goldenthal that's half as rich as a great Herrmann or Goldsmith score...
I totally agree with you about the Othello ballett. Although the Othello music on his Zarathustra Record Label, it's a bit different sounding than the production of the actual Ballett itself, which I have on DVD. Slightly. To myself that is. HOWEVER, you nailed the connection with Sphere and Othello CD MUDIC. I put the two together IMMEDIATELY, I lovr it nonetheless, but still felt a tiny bit jaded.
One of the most underrated artists in existence. Phenomenal composer.

A true artist, and they are tough to come by these days. Cheers you see his greatness.
@@ingorichter649 Mr. Goldenthal was a student of Mr. Copland’s, as well as John Corigliano’s 🙂

One of my favorite film scores, EVER!!
Critics tore it apart, but darn, I actually like this movie.
Same here.
loved the book, but the movie is just.......
This is a score in desperate need of an extended Album-release.
Incredible soundtrack
I'd love to hear his take on a Star Trek film I love his sound 😍
This is amazing
13:25 onward was the best imo
Totally. It's called, 'THE GIFT'
Towards the end, always reminds me of Edward Scissorhands.
Very similar.
edward squidhands :(
Edward Sqidward-hands?
That's terrifying.
Emotionally And physically Affecting
It sounds like his "Othello" ballet, same musical technique, same year
Listen to Demolition Man 1994... then hear how Batman Forever is basically a whole bunch of his unused music for Demolition Man...

Masterpiece. Where did you find this? Thanks for sharing
I too, would like to know the origin of this recording. I don't believe there is a 'Sphere' bootleg available..
Eeerie but beautiful.
Interesting. In the movie, that final trumpet is an octave higher.
A real composer. Sadly the noise we get nowadays with movies is Hans Zimmer (or inspired by) sonic non-sense wallpaper.
Not up to the actual film score but still very nice.
Check out the "artiste" haircut. LOL He's always had good hair, but Jesus...
10:55 awesome
3:58 Dinosaur!
Around 9:30 mark is very much reminiscent of Demolition Man.
Where did you find this???
Demolition man 9:40.
