  • What resembles a large office building in Columbus, Ohio hides more than 50 vintage Mustang, Ford, and Shelby muscle cars (plus a Ford Pinto for contrast) inside 27,000 square feet. Most are either retrieved barn finds and parked as found, or barn finds that Signature Auto has restored in their shop inside. Walk with us on a first-ever public tour to see some incredible muscle car barn finds and barn find parts.

I am in Ford heaven! I have studied Mustang's my whole Adult life. I am 59 years old. Never had the money or the time to buy a Muscle car. I rented a 2007 Shelby Hertz Gold and Black convertible. From the Airport in Indianapolis. It was the high light of my driving life! I wanted to experience the rental muscle car era myself. Like in the 60's. When I got there to the airport rental office there where 7 Hertz Gold and Black convertibles sitting in a row. I was blown away! I stood there as they drove my Hertz Mustang rental to the office I video taped it. The whole process. It was a amazing weekend and exspensive too. Well over a $ 1000.00. But it was worth all the money and waiting months to go to live out my dream! The motor had the wire on it so they could check to see if the motor was taken out. I even dragged a Colbalt SS on that Saturday afternoon. From stoplight to stoplight with the top down and wife in the car. He got spanked and did a U turn at the next light. Never to be seen again. Shawn

I've been friends with Rick for many years, built some engines for him back when he first got started, still talk to him and locate some parts for him when I can find them. He's always fair when purchasing used or NOS parts that are needed for the cars. A real stand up guy, and a pleasure to know and deal with. Everyone could use a guy like Rick on there side when it comes to knowledge of Fords and restorations.

Rick and his crew restored my 1969 Super Cobra Jet Mach 1 15 years ago and it is now back in his shop for a freshening up. I am the original owner of the car. Rick did a spectacular job on my car bringing it back to original condition after many years on the dragstrip and then collecting dust in my garage. Rick lives and breaths these cars. All you need to do do is talk to him to realize the passion he has for them. Additionally he, his wife Jacquie, Larry and the crew are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you're ever in Columbus and drop into their shop they will welcome you like you are old friends.

What a great guy, love the passion he has for the history of these special mussel cars! I had two Mustangs, my first two cars, as a teenager. The first was a 70 Mach 1, 428SCJ Drag Pack car that was in pieces when I bought it. A a kid I would walk by it everyday on my way to school and thought I’ll have one someday and in 1982 I fulfilled my dream! While I worked to restore this car over the winter my dad and I picked up a 69 coupe with a 351W factory 4 barrel as my daily driver. On a side note I noticed 2 Honda 70’s in the shop which I also had, fond memories there as well! Kid’s today don’t have the same passion for hands on work the just have someone else do the work and drive them around as if they put their own blood sweat and tears into building the car what a shame!

Can't resist sharing my Mustang story. In 1978, as I was finishing my junior year in high school in Ventura County, California, I bought a '69 Mustang coupe from an ad in the Recycler newspaper, pretty sure I paid $600 for it, cash I saved from my job bagging groceries. My brother and I did some engine work on it in our garage, then we took it on a road trip to New York and back to California. It had a '70 front end on it, guess it had been in a bad collision and they couldn't locate a '69 front end. I was hit on the driver's side door by a van in Hollywood, had it repaired and repainted. Then sold it and treated myself to a '72 Mustang convertible, fire engine red with a black top and red and black interior. Sold the '72 when I was a poor college student in San Francisco. I still have dreams about that '72 convertible, miss it terribly.😍🤔😪😭

Props to you for doing such a great job in preserving our blue oval cars. My dad was a Ford racer from the late fifties to mid 70's. He passed away about 10 years ago. I myself am a blue oval guy. I have a very good knowledge of the performance Ford motors. I acquired a huge amount of that from reading his 100's of factory dealer brouchers that were every where I'm the house. At 1 time I could tell you if you had a open carrier 9 or 8 inch rear end and what gear it was just from the door tag..I still retain a good bit of the engine info. It can be a curse at time when you hear or see someone who is claiming they have this or that when you know they don't. Which brings up a question. ? You said that 64.5 k code was a 289 Hipo car. My 64 Sprint was a 260hipo car. And I was under the impression the 64 cars were all 260's ? Is it because the Mustangs we're a half rather than just a 64? I know of a Griffin that is also a 64 260 Hipo car. Anyway I want to say if you still reading I eventually will get back to my sister's place who still lives int parents house. Those dealer brouchers are still there. They featured things like dealer installed cross boss 1400 cfm carb for the Boss 302 etc. There is probably 100 of them. I'll find them and send them to you. You are the person that will keep and make use of them. Tons of details that are the bible of Ford knowledge

My name is Ewerton Saavedra. I have a 1971 Mustang Mach 1 original 429 SCJ in Brazil. My car is the one of one Mustang 429 SCJ in my country, Brazil. My car was bought and imported to Brazil in 1971 and was on the cover of the most popular automotive magazine here, called 4 weels (4 Rodas), in the May 1971 issue. I bought the car after finding it abandoned in the back of a workshop in year 2001 for R$1,500.00. That's the current equivalent of only about $350.00. At the time, here in Brazil, nobody wanted these types of cars. I got lucky.

Incredible collection and very cool you had written articles about several cars built there. He sure knows his cars and what is valuable and worth restoring. Very intelligent with the Ford engines and the restorations looks outstanding. Good video! It would be great to see another one focusing in closer on the details of several of these, even some of the originals parked out back.

Just a few miles east of Columbus, huh? Geez, I could drive up there in less than two hours. Had no idea this place existed until viewing this youtube spot.

Some of those cars are a bit close for my comfort, hopefully they rolled them into place with a floor jack or something. Anyhow, awesome collection!

I don't even know what to say. Good gravy, that was just a simply awesome collection and tour. Thank You so much for sharing that with us. I had to watch it 4 times to catch everything. Amazing. I love Mustangs, especially muscle mustangs and especially Shelby's.
